This company does Not care about checking the validity of bad reviews they will print whatever the clients says. I had a negative review and had all the proof the client was NOT telling the truth sent them all the details. They did nothing I had to get the client to remove his negative comment. They are very quick to print negative comments but it takes forever to get your positive reviews posted. This would be a great site if the the company screened the reviews of clients and asked for proof not just allowing people to review and say whatever they want. I lost 2 jobs because of all this and they do not care!

I originally signed up for a free account with this website when the site was Handy Canadian and under the statistics, my account said I had over 40 leads, but it wasn't clickable and under their general information it said that replying to messages and leads required a premium account. So when I signed up for the premium account, those 40 leads were no where to be found.

I also discovered that service categories were missing. As a painting contractor the only category available was for residential interiors. There were no painting categories for new construction or commercial.

Since 2014, I received three emails but could not reply as they are also behind a paywall. Two were actually prior clients and I recognized the names. The third was a b2b solicitation. Just like other advertisers I assume that with a premium account you will get full contact.

I sent emails to *******@trustedpros.ca asking where the leads were and to report the missing categories.

After the first month I didn't update the credit card and I received an email stating the account was moved back to free.

I was not impressed with the lack of communication other than threats of sending my account to collection, and I also filled out the form with the same information I am providing here and again, no response.

I paid for one month premium and technically got one month premium but the leads claimed where not there and the missing categories where a significant bug when leads are based on the services you provide. There are also other bugs on the website. A leads search should not be bringing up plumbing and roofing.

I am actually disappointed in myself that I didn't research the website more as I would never have been in the situation I find myself in, where TrustedPros has put a supplier complaint against my listing for non-payment. There is a reply button next to the complaint, but I can't actually respond.

I have never experienced anything like this from a website that has been around for so many years. Its seems though that Mr. Max Sheppard prefers to hide behind a terms of use agreement and use bully tactics to get a contractor to pay up rather that provide the service his company claims.

Im very pleased to give Trustedpros 5 star rating. I think it's a great site to find contractors. Earlier, this year I posted a job regarding my unfinished basement. I've received a lot of excellent responses and got new ideas from contractors regarding the best use of the space.
I was able to screen the contractors from the reviews and pictures of their work posted on the site which turned out really helpful. I think this company is a great platform connecting contractors with homeowners. Will be recommending to friends and family.

The site allows the trade to come to you. You are able to look at their reviews and see their ratings to help you make a decision.

This does not mean that you do not need to do your due diligence, but it provides a great starting point.

I posted a project and had a significant number of replies. To be honest, a number of them did not pan out. Some are not as professional as their profile would indicate, but that is why you follow up by asking for references and going out to take a look at past work.

I personally will continue to use Trusted Pros as the basis for my search when I need construction services.

I had a customer claim I was at fault for problems with her railing system on her deck, court determined she was negligent, did not remove the snow. Even though I have asked the review be removed several times they will not unless I sue the customer for slander. These guys do need research on posters before they allow people to slander.

Update Finally the review was removed after the court order was submitted, but it still does not rectify the fact trusted pros allows slander to be posted without doing any sort of reasonable research or requesting documentation but expects the accused to jump through hoops and send court documents to have slander removed. Stay away from these guys unless you want frivolous claims to ruin your reputation.

My experience with Trusted Pros has been excellent. We have been members of Trusted Pros since 2010. TrustedPros provides our electrical contracting company a valuable service. It connects us with amazing customers that we are privileged to serve. We appreciate TrustedPros efforts to give customer and contractor an online platform for honest dialogue. We also appreciate their ongoing efforts to protect the best interest of the customer and the contractor. The information they post online for customers is good for example, check out the Electrical Safety Authority info for Ontario that TrustedPros has for on their website; in this posting, TrustedPros hi-lights the necessity for taking out electrical permits and hiring a licensed electrician.

In the past, TrustedPros has helped us ensure that any of our customers who wish to post a review are able to so. From what we have observed, TrustedPros strives to make it difficult for contractors who are not reputable or legally operating to successfully attract customers or subscribe on their site. They prompt our company to keep up to date licensing, insurance qualifications and warrantee information on our TrustedPros page. On an annual basis, they rate the performance of each contracting company based on this criteria in addition to posted customer reviews and any attempts a contracting company may need to take to resolve a customer concern.

As with any online advertising, TrustedPros must continually make the hard judgement about who they will represent; I applaud them for their efforts and encourage them to continue working toward weeding out those contractors that take advantage of customers and negatively paint reputable honest contractors.

We have been subscribing to TrustedPros for several years and at present, plan to continue. We feel the service TrustedPros provides is worth the cost we pay for the subscription. M2R Enterprises has been with TrusterPros since 2005. We have never had a bad experience. With the leads they provide our business has grown significantly in every year of our association with them. We encourage all our clients to write reviews for us and submit them to this site where they are vetted to ensure they are genuine. We feel confident saying that TrustedPros is doing a great job ensuring reputable contractors are promoted to homeowners.

We did not sign up for this site nor did we pay for their services. They refuse to remove our personal information from their site nor will they remove a false review from someone who is not our customer. We were told by our customers that when they try to leave a review they are asked for copies of quotes and invoices as well as their contact information. We now tell our customers to avoid this site as we are concerned that their information is may be supplied to the site's members.

Trusted Pros is a website that hides behind a one sided terms of use and offers ZERO warranty for their services. There are no refunds or early cancellation for any reason, including not providing the services they claim you get. The category for our company is only selectable for interiors and does not exist for exteriors and commercial. The leads generation is dismal at best and there was NO increase in traffic from their "Premium" membership through our website tracking url. We track everything that comes to us as any business should be doing.

I have not gotten a reply to their customer support email address to address the issues so the credit card was cancelled. 8 months later, they are still holding us to the 6 month contract and only send threats of collection and we are back to the basic listing. The fact that this seems to be an automated threat speaks volumns to how many companies are cancelling their credit cards once they realise there is no return on investment.

At this point, we dont want the listing as the contact we only got is unsolicited from salesmen and wannabe contractors wanting to know our rates and how we quote.

From the leads generation, our account claimed we had 80 leads before we paid for premium, but under the leads page we have only confirmed three and none of them were within 50km of our city and the budget was ridiculously low. $500- $1000 budget to frame a 1000 square foot basement, would barely cover materials, but this is the garbage leads we found. A major issue with the website leads only having an interior category was we had to do a manual search to compensate. This was how we found out that in a city of 1 million plus, only the three above mentioned were found within a two month period. You would find more work and waste less time searching for jobs on kijiji.

An additional problem with TrustedPros is you cannot delete the listing, so other than setting the phone extention to play an automated message and hang up, you can expect an increase in spam calls. Trusted pros claim its to provide quality content, but really its to make the website appear to be bigger than it actually is and to get you to go Premium.

As a contractor, I have zero trust in TrustedPros and if we cannot delete the listing, or they dont stop with the collection threats you will see us in the news. Its time these websites that hide behind their terms of use to collect for a shoddy service be regulated in Canada. In the 10 years we have been in business TrustedPros has been the worse experience with an advertiser.

We are a General Contracting company and have been with Trusted Pros since the very beginning (Handy Canadian!). The thought has never crossed our minds to switch to a different site as Trusted Pros has always treated us very well. Their service is always prompt and professional and the site is very easy to use. Thank you Trusted Pros for all your hard work on keeping this site going!
