I can't speak highly enough of Trusted Housesitters. I'm so grateful to have been able to go away on holiday and leave my much-loved cat and home in safe and trustworthy hands, and then come home to an immaculate house, and a pet that had been so well looked after, loved, and was clearly so happy that I probably wasn't even missed. Honestly, if you have a loved pet and are finding it hard to tear yourself away, then I highly recommend this site.

We stumbled upon Trustedhousesitters.com last year when we were desperate to find a dog sitter for our little Havanese Nikki, we also needed someone to water the garden and look after our home. We carefully posted a notice but didn't think we'd get a response. We didn't get one, we got 20 and almost all would have been perfect. Joining Trusted Housesitters was one of the best things we ever did, we've been on many vacations since and we've never been anything but delighted with the people we've met and have looked after our dog and home. Our cat doesn't enjoy being left on her own and even less being in a cattery. This website is a lifesaver and really has changed her life. We love knowing she has someone staying with her overnight and giving her love when we are away. It's a very well respected and organised website so the people on it seem great too.
We have only ever used it to find a pet sitter, rather than to find a sit so no idea about that side of things but living in London we always cap our offers in <24hrs as we get around 10 in that short space of time. It's really impressive actually as I never thought that would be the case and it makes the whole process really easy.

I was recommended this website after literally YEARS of struggling for petcare whilst I went away. As a result, I chose not to go away, as it was too much hassle/expense. Trustedhousesitters was recommended to me by an old school friend who was living in London. I gave it a try & have now used the service twice. I don't know who thought up the idea, but they deserve a medal!
The service provided has not only allowed me to go away, but it has generated a WHOLE NEW LIFE! I have bought a property in France & have been able to slowly follow my dream of going to live there. Joined the site after seeing a recommendation in a Sunday Newspaper. I'd used pet-sitting companies before but it was hard to find one covering my area. The way this site lets your post your requirements and then view applicants and their references is great. I get happy pets and security for my property and the sitter gets to visit places. A win win situation and so easy to arrange. This is now my "go to site".
We just had our first experience with Trusted Pet Sitters and it could not have been better. The family that sat for us was first class, taking excellent care of our animals and our home. We were worried about finding sitters since we are in a rural area but we had responses within a day of posting for 2 different trips. Communicating through the site was simple and the guidelines provided were very helpful to providing a trouble free experience. So glad this site was recommended to us.

This is a fantastic platform helping pet owners find reliable and caring pet sitters. It has changed our lives and allows us to travel with peace of mind, knowing our cats are well cared for.
There is no good way to reach this company. The phone number goes straight to voice mail and it took 6 days to get a response via email. Understand that they offer NO guarantee that you will find an acceptable sitter. Their terms say that once you have placed an ad, you give up your right to a refund (why in the world would you request a refund before you've tried a product?) We have a really cool home in a very popular area and received 4 applicants for our sit. I'm pretty sure one was mentally ill, and another one homeless. Two of them were ok, but not really qualified besides being warm bodies. We needed more experienced people to manage our home and pets. I think this concept is a great idea, but if a consumer ends up not using the service, they should be entitled to a refund. I think the company is based in the UK, because this type of customer service does not fly is the US!
The whole setup relies on mutual trust, considerate behaviour and respect, between the house owner and house sitter. My professional training enables me to assess personalities rapidly, and both of our house sitters gave us full confidence that our pets and house were in safe hands before we left the house.
The main concern is allowing strangers to take charge of your house after a short introduction, but the reviews on the website, and the fact that no money changes hands means that people with ulterior motives are unlikely to be drawn to the website.
The review feedback available to both sides is a reliable quality control tool to ensure standards are maintained-in the same way that Tripadvisor and Airbnb operate, but without the financial incentives that can encourage bogus reviews.

Ive used this site several times to find sitters from 4 days to two months. I typically find a sitter within a few days after posting a sit. It is worth considering posting as early as possible so that you can screen the sitters by talking with them but Ive found a sitter within 4 days when I needed one. I have a big and energetic dog so I have now learned to look for a certain energetic type. Video meeting is a good way to connect before committing. Most of the reviews have turned out to be reliable. Ive recommended the site to several friends.
We have had seven Trusted House Sitters from all over the world and every single one has been a delight to have in the house - clean, tidy, honest and very helpful.
They have all been wonderful with our dog and it is so nice for the dog to be at home with loving attention instead of being in a kennel.
