Just bought a zero turn (Mustand Z42) mid June for residential use. Its my first one so I set up by the book to make sure everything was perfect! Mowing my lawn over the weekend and there lays a pully, right in the grass! Naturally, I turned off the mower and picked up all the pieces and found that the bolt snapped right off and the belt burnt through the housing! Got online and found 3 others: same mower, same purchase time, same issue! Customer service doesnt seem to care - this should be recalled! Only thing they can say is to take it to a troy bilt shop, but pulleys are "wear and tear" and are only covered for 30 days. 30days... I've only used this a few times and im JUST beyond 30 days. It was delivered june 16th and this happened Aug 1st! Total B. S. recall this trash. DO NOT BUY.

Don't Buy It
May 30, 2025

I purchased a Troy Bilt chain saw 2/2025. The chain slipped off on the first use and I have not been able to make it taut again. Took it to their warranty repair places and they won't repair hand tools anymore but for money, they can fix it. So much for standing behind your product!

Troy built push mower
March 27, 2025

Don't buy a troy built push mower. This is my 3rd one in 6months. It runs then slows down and cuts off and won't start anymore. Calling the company is a fricking joke, EITHER wont answer or gives u another number to call. Guess the ceo is laughing at us all but that's OK will ever buy one again and what's so bad is ive always bought troy built cause they were the best. Guess since covid this ceo does not give a dam. Don't buy a troy built push mower buy sears. This one is hard to start and smokes awful.

Lazy, apathetic company
May 17, 2024

You can order a part or accessory and they can confirm in writing and in person that they have the part in inventory and then it can take *weeks* for them to ship it out. This despite them having your money for the part and for the delivery charge. Pure trash.

I purchased a standard Troy Bilt self propelled lawn mowein May 2022 for general yard mowing. I purchased the Troy Bilt brand because historically they have been among the finest. Times have changed. I do not know if they have a quality control problem or if they are now sourcing inferior, cheap parts. Having had this mower less than two year, the issues with it are almost endless. Issues actually began shortly after it was purchased and continue to this day. Parts fall off, the engage lever for the self propel line pops off dozens of times during a cut. The pull cord eye bolt that hold the pull cord in place has fallen off at least three times and gotten lost. Replacing it, it just falls off again. My recommendation is to choose another brand when considering you needs for a general use lawn mower for you home

Bought a TB Pony Tiller online, plowed and tilled my garden with my John Deere with a 5 ft tiller. When I started to use the pony to till between the rows it took out 6 ft of my beans.Been using TB since I was 7 and could always control with One hand. This dang thing gets away from you even when in the shallowest setting, DO NOT BUY THIS THING, IT IS DANGEROUS! TO top it off when I talked to TB the first time the lady I spoke with could only talk about how her front tine tiller did the same thing and was no help. Told me to take it to an authorized service center so that's what I did. The guy there was really no help as well and said that is the way it is. NO REFUND NO TRADE! Now I tried to call the *******500 number and it says the number you are dialing is invalid, please check your listing. THIS IS THE DANG NUMBER ON THEIR WEBSITE! If I could get rid of this thing and sell it I would, but wouldn't want to do that to someone. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER TB PRODUCT AS LONG AS I LIVE. It would be my recommendation for anyone who reads this not to as well.

I have a lawn tractor I purchased in 2020. It was built in 2019, per the model and engine number. I had to find a part for it, when to the troy-bilt website, ordered it, and got the wrong part, returned it after a lengthy wait on the phone and many transfers and automated messages...finally got a human, got the label and sent the return. Ordered the new part, and again was sent the wrong part. Correct part number, wrong part attached to it. Confirmed when I called in again, another lengthy automated message and transfers. I completely understand why people just give up on returns. Troy-bilt has made it so difficult to speak to someone for help or find what you are looking for, either by chat or by phone, that I will NEVER deal with them again AND will tell everyone I know not to as well. This has been the absolute worst experience of my life with a product I have purchased...I am an IT support person myself and a developer. Troy-bilt needs to do better...on all fronts!

Bought the Troy-Bilt tb30 riding mower in August. Ranted about three times last year and when I cranked it up this year it sputters and spits like it's running out of gas and then shuts off after 5 minutes. It's still under warranty but I have to pay $125 for the distributor to come pick it up and bring it back and they're 8 weeks out on repairing it which means everybody cutting my grass all summer with a push mower. I highly recommend not buying a Troy-Bilt

Worse mower
April 21, 2023

My first troybilt I had for 12 years only problem I put a new drive belt on it then the deck rusted through so I bought a new troybilt the 21" 4wd walk behind first day using it was on a bank and it leak gas out the side. I have had it for 3 years and I had to get a new pull string, have bought 2 new gas caps and as you're mowing it leaks gas out the top and the gas cap will come loose. This should be a zero or even minus stars but you have to give them one. Don't waste your money on a troybilt mower I never will again!

Stop Dont Buy
April 15, 2023

Just got my TB30B Compact Riding Lawn Mower delivered. Was in a cardboard box on wood pieces that took over hour to remove so I could roll it off.Plastic parts all scuffed and marred. Steering and seat had to put on. Seat was easy Steering column was crazy, it has a plastic piece you have to hold up to get column in. Followed manual step by step then went to crank it and nothing. Checked battery and charged it still nothing. Now I'm stuck with a 2000 dollar mower that is marked up and not running. Will call customer service but looking at the cheap plastic its made of makes me wonder what Ill run into with them. UPDATE! This review was taken off yesterday lets see if they remove it again. Finally after 1hour and 20 minutes wait got Customer Service & found loose wire. Got it running for first and last time. The steering is so hard had to stop to turn. I didn't expect power steering but nothing this bad.The brake is not stopping you keep rolling. Theres no returning it. No way I'm going to sale it. Its to dangerous. So I'm still out $2000 " Troy Bilt would not post any of this so I hope people see it here. Dont get anything straight from factory go look at item for your own safety!"

Kick the Blind Man.
February 10, 2023

I'm blind and needed to buy a new carb for my chipper. (I know, blind guy operating a chipper? Let me tell you, it's an awesome feeling! At least it was. Troy Built will not sell me a carb for the chipper because my disability keeps me from punching in my card numbers correctly. They refuse to accept verbally. THAT'S JUST MEAN! Thank You Troy Bilt for taking away one of the few things I could still enjoy.

Crap mower
October 29, 2022

I bought a Troy bilt rear engine small mower for residential. I have only owned it like 3 years I bought it brand new at Lowe's. Lowe's says they don't carry that model anymore so I called Troy-Bilt to get some troubleshooting done. To no avail. I had a lawn mower service come over. And spent another $150. And it still is the biggest piece of crap I've ever bought. The first one I bought and was delivered you put gas in it and it poured right out the bottom. They brought me another one and this one has gone downhill since I bought it. I think you should back your products and help the consumers lawn mowers should last 10 12 years this one hasn't even made it three and a half.

Pole saw- Troy Bilt
July 18, 2022

NEVER EVER AGAIN! What a waste of money $229.00 to be exact. I got the extended warranty also. I got this pole saw for my husband as a Christmas gift 2021. Well we live in Tennessee so he didn't get to use it until May 2022. Second time he used it there's a plastic piece around the end of the pole saw that split and twisted the gears. So long story short I called Troy- bilt and they sent me to they're closed us vendors to try to fix it. So I drove 28mins one way for the man to tell me there's nothing he can do for me that I have to go back to Troy-Bilt. So I called Troy-bilt and explained what I did and they said well we have another vendors that you can go to they're even further away from you. So pretty much I'm getting the runaround and spending a lot of gas money for nothing and nothing's going to get done so Troy-Bilt I would not recommend to anyone!

Ordered parts for weed eater using MDL# (model number, right? WRONG) Received wrong part-didn't even look like the picture on the website. Called CS, was told MDL# is not model#-item# is model#. She helped me order the right part but I was charged shipping again. The website says "If you purchase the wrong part from Troy-Bilt, we will work with you to identify the correct part for your equipment and initiate a free exchange." NO they don't. Had to pay shipping on original item, shipping on replacement item, and return shipping. Could almost have bought a new weed eater for all that "free exchange". And I had to do all the legwork AND hold on a call to get help for about 35 minutes. Do yourself a favor and try ANYTHING else (Amazon, aftermarket, local lawn mower shop, etc.)
