I literally made an account just for this one site. If you plan to sell your cards to this shop, by any means. DON'T. Unless you love to be scammed and to have your own buylist horror story then go ahead. But on a serious, please don't sell to them.

I recently sold my cards to Troll and Toad, and my god was it painful to see it unfold. Not only do they devalue your cards but I'm pretty sure they scammed me, and by other reviews I saw, they scammed others as well. Not only were my cards graded the wrong condition, but I'm pretty sure they lied about one of my cards being damaged.

Awfully suspicious that the most expensive card was the damaged one. Mind you I kept them all, especially the expensive, in near mint condition with a lot of protection. I even have proof of the cards. But yet it was graded damaged. My guess is that they didn't want to pay me, lied about the condition, and just straight up stole my card.

I got paid a fraction of the original price and lost all my cards in the process. I was already selling to them half priced, yet they still scammed me. If you plan to sell your cards, I recommend doing it through eBay, Mercari, or tcgPlayer. Never this shop, even if you're desperate. I learned my lesson. But if you do end up selling to them because you did it before reading the negative reviews like I did, I hope your experience is better, it probably won't be…but one can hope.

Store of lies
November 25, 2023

My cousin ordered some cards from this company for my kids Christmas. Besides them showing up in February the cards were not worth the money. The pokemon cards was just a bunch of commons and in very poor shape. Horrible bussiness, spend your money at a store that cares.

I used to buy trading card boxes and singles from TrollandToad.com as an avid and loyal customer. Recently, I needed to get some cash quickly, so I decided to sort out cards I no longer needed (many of which were M/NM singles purchased from T&T that were immediately cased and put in a protective binder) to sell to T&T. They graded many of them as much worse than the conditions they graded them when selling which was immensely suspicious, but I needed the cash, so I gave the go ahead to complete the sale. It has been WEEKS that I was supposed to get paid to my PayPal, and they've now gone silent after a cheap email that claimed "Oh, you're past the 10 day payment period for a buylist order, we'll get our accounting department to expedite payment" that I finally got back days ago. It's a true shame as I liked their website, but I can only conclude that they've become immensely scammy in the past years. I would deeply suggest not to buy their overpriced singles and products and to DEFINITELY stay away from theur buylist department.

If zero star rating was a choice...
October 12, 2023

If I could give these people zero stars, I would. My cards were horribly misgraded (e.g., said some were played...NONE of the cards I sent them were ever played). I emailed them and said 'cancel my transaction' and was told it was impossible and though impossible to cancel my order, they're about 2 weeks past the time they should have sent payment. Honestly, I feel scammed. I will never, ever do business with this company again.

A couple years ago I noticed on their "Buy List" they were paying about $300 for a reverse holo crystal ho-oh in near mint condition.
I had one in a CGC case at a 7.5 near mint and thought it was a good price so I cracked the case (DID NOT DAMAGE THE CARD I AM POSITIVE)
And sent it to them.
They claimed it wasn't near mint according to THEIR people and paid me 1/3 of the price.
I tried to call and ask if they could send it back and they said they wouldn't.
I think they just forgot to update their buy-list and know they overpaid for the card and screwed me over to make up for it.
A 7.5 is a near mint grade. CGC are harsh graders also.
I am never doing business with them again unless they make this right.

Poor Buylist system
July 24, 2023

I sent a buylist of just a few cards to test how easy they are to work with. I'm glad I did a test run.
First, they offer no assessment criteria, in other words, they don't define what "near-mint" means to them. I researched what was considered "near-mint", and sent them 6 cards that met the qualifications I found. These cards were in generally good conditions, with 0-2 minor defects. When they received the cards, they assessed them all as "Damaged", which they certainly were not.
Second, their communication is incredibly poor. I had to initiate every part of the process and did not receive helpful relies.
I cannot in good conscious recommend anyone sell to them, and I will not buy from them based on this experience.

I came across a factory sealed Legions MTG deck and put these folks to a little test. Having had prior crap results with them I wasn't sure what would happen.I sent them 42 BRAND NEW cards and they downgraded EVERYONE to played or worse. I have the receipt, the box photos of the cards still sealed. I documented the whole process from opening the 21 year old box to placing the cards in envelope to ship.I called them out on this, they have yet to respond. I don't really care what their excuse is or even what they respond with. I Am DONE with these RIPOFFS. They have no shame, morals and as far as i'm concerned can go die in a hole.A not so cheap lesson learned, but it will not be forgotten,

Sell to them at your own risk, I was told that once they receive my items they'll pay me within 3 to 5 business days, well my items got delivered to them on the 15th of may, it is now the 9th of June and still nothing. Naturally they first had to go through the cards and decide which ones are in proper condition and which aren't, in the end they took off $100 from the original sell price because I guess some of the cards I sent were not in the proper condition($100 though? Idk seems kinda sus tbh, especially after I kept bothering them with emails) either way it should not take over a month to send the payment, truly ridiculous, you're better off selling your singles on tcgplayer instead of bulk to troll and toad.

Edit: I have now received another email but this time they changed what they originally said with the 3-5 business days and now said 10 so you can add deceitful on the list of flaws.

Troll and Toad is notorious for swindling sellers with their shady selling practices. If you really want to sell cards, find players who are looking for them and at least get your money's worth. Don't be surprised if they come back telling you the cards you sent aren't in the condition you sent them in.

Double checked the condition of my cards to make sure they were good. But was still told they were in "bad" condition so offered 25% of original price. Have to pay return shipping on top of the shipping I paid to send it there in order to get my cards back.

Total bait and fake scam to try to force you to accept the lower prices.

It is very difficult to get ahold of anyone. They do not answer the phone or respond to emails. If you facebook message them, you will be directed to the contact us link that gets no response. I had issues with a buylist order that is still unresolved. At this point, it is unclear if I will ever get paid or even my cards back. I would advise against doing business with this company.

Troll and Toad is a total scam
December 6, 2022

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT buy from this seller! This is a huge warning! They will not ship products to you in their labeled quality and their return service and customer support is automated, they just don't care about their consumers! Please I advise you to read my story below before considering to buy from this company at all!

I ordered 63 foil cards from the base Pokemon Black and White set because I'm trying to collect every card in foil or its cracked holo variant. Buying mint or near mint quality cards is very important to me, and I assume a lot of other collectors especially with foil and holo cards. Any damage easily shows on these special cards and it just makes your collection look bad overall. I was extremely excited when I came across Troll and Toad since they had not only great prices for the cards I wanted but they also had a ton of them from the set I wanted. ***DISCLAIMER THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT, this is what I thought before I received my absolute insult of an order.*** I ordered 63 cards all foil with the exception of the energy cards (all labeled on their website to be NEAR MINT condition). When I received my order I was shocked my what they sent me! Every single card I ordered was scratched, and not just a little bit, but nearly the entire surface area of each card was ruthlessly scratched and damaged like someone took steel wool to the surface of every card. For some cards the damage exceeded others with clouding and what looked to be water damage on the edges of some cards too. These were by no means anywhere near what they labeled to be "near mint" condition; if anything they send me "PLAYED" and or "DAMAGED" cards instead! On top of all the damaged cards they sent me they even gave me a wrong card, they game me the regular variant and not the foil card instead. I was absolutely livid, I spent $78 on these cards expecting what I ordered but I got anything but that.

Obviously I want my money back and I do not want these awful cards they sent me; but contacting their customer support was also a joke of a process. They took a whole four days to even respond to my support request. The time they responded wouldn't have bothered me so much if I didn't receive an two sentence automated response and a ADVERTISEMENT right below! What an absolute joke! Like hell I'm going to return my scam order and buy more of your crap! They told me to fill out a return form from that response, yup that's it they don't tell you what to do with that form or what to do with the order.

This entire company is a absolute joke and a scam, if you are interested in buying any trading card related product I HIGHLY encourage you to use any other site besides Troll and Toad! Sites like "Collectors Cache", "TCG Trader", "Toy Wiz" and more have better quality guaranteed products, I know because I have personally order from all three of them. Proceed with Troll and Toad AT YOUR OWN RISK, I would hate for someone to experience the same thing that I have with them! STAY AWAY!

Attached are two photos comparing the quality of a Stoutland from Troll and Toad and a Bilitzle from Collectors Cache. Both were labeled by the seller as "near mint" condition, see for reference.

Go somewhere else to sell cards
September 29, 2022

Complete waste of time trying to sell to them. What they do not explain on their website is that it can take 5 business days just to check in your package. Then 5 more business days to get to it. Then after it reaches confirmed another 10 business days or more to get paid for your items. On top of that they change the condtions of your cards that you send them. 100% go somewhere else to sell cards. I do not even know when they are going to send my rejected cards back after having to pay to send them. If you want to sell look at at least a month to get paid. After dealing with other places online this place seems like a scam.

DO NOT SELL TO THESE THIEVS!
September 14, 2022

So I sent in a total of 69 cards to be potentially bought by troll and toad from me. I spent a day sorting through their price lists and my cards making sure the right edition and set numbers matched up to their list. Wait two weeks to get an offer. On the offer sheet anything of significant value was dramatically lowered, or listed as damaged, played, not accepting condition, etc. two cards I bought from them in the past and never used. Those being gate guardian, and super ancient deep sea coelacanth. They were in pristine condition and stored in a binder as soon as I got them. So the fact that they low ball me on high priced cards, that came from them in the past, that were literally mint is insane. I called and asked for my cards back that had changes listed to them or they were not going to purchase. They tell me anything with a price change has been sent to warehouse to be sold, because I selected quickpay option. I MADE ABSOLUTELY SURE NOT TO SELECT THAT WHEN I SENT THESE IN! Because if I didn't they would hold everything and confirm with me directly before issuing a payment. So lady tells me they can send the stuff back that didn't get bought. Aka anything under changes that doesn't have a final total. We'll see if I get those back. Doubt it. These guys are criminals and their card grader sorter dude is at the heart of it. I can get past the possibility that maybe I sent in the wrong edition or set id, or even if a card wasn't mint. But the expensive cards were definitely flawless and in mint and the correct edition and set id. So Im out of valuable cards they literally stole from me. And the rare ones they surprisingly bought they lowballed me except for 2 or 3. I'm still waiting for a payment from them, even though they claim I selected quick pay, so I should have been paid by now. So I get $295.68 out of $607.09. I've bought from them in the past several times and even recently, and now I get ripped off and stolen from by them. Screw these clowns, I will never do business with them ever again!
