Had issues with my booking but they left me hanging saying just deal with the provider but the provider does not want to help and tripadvisor has no number to help me. Dont use this website if you have any issues they will leave you but take your money
Wrote a review of a business they refused to post it. Guess they do not really want to allow a consumer to rate a business.
They profit of most of the businesses that are listed on their site and claim to have a very high standard to list your products and remove products from businesses from their Viator site and allow other businesses that rebrand with a new name the same business that had awful reviews before to start over and offer their services with lies about their destinations...
I really think that if you are looking to but a service please go directly to google and research the company and buy directly from the supplier.
Update. Honestly, my experience with TripAdvisor started out poorly. My wife was frustrated. As a result, I became upset when I realized why she was frazzled. Anger kicked in, and I posted an unflattering review of the company. Next, I wrote an admittedly nasty note to the CEO, Matt Goldberg who has been there less than six months. My guess on his reading what I sent? Zero chance!
Shocked - about five hours after my tirade, and on a Monday night around 8 pm, my wife got a call - from Matt Goldberg. Not an assistant. Not an imposter. The CEO!
His approach could not have been more reflective of client centered strategic leadership.
1) Apology... agreed situation was not acceptable
2) Empathy... acknowledged her frustration was legitimate.
3) Asked Questions... assuring he understood - cared - and demonstrated respect.
4) Restated His Understanding... which enhanced trust; really listening.
5) Personal Promise... will be resolved within a day
6) Request... if not resolved - call him personally!
The next night, I shared with the MBA's I teach (my retirement job) about our experience with Matt Goldberg. Rarely do I have an example of world class leadership.
What I shared - lesson to consider:
1) Personally Engaged... checking "customer touchpoints" - not just relying on what the executive team is sharing.
2) Demonstrate Care And Respect... invest the time and effort in a manner that is desired for the entire company culture.
3) Action Oriented... rolled up sleeves - and get things done. Set an example for the team. "This is what service is!"
Lesson Reinforced. All companies - and people - will make mistakes. It is how mistakes are handled that demonstrate their character and values. Surprisingly, some of the most loyal customers are actually the result of bad experiences - handled in a world class way.
My guess? The future of TripAdvisor has never been brighter. Hoping his approach is contagious, and strengthens the culture of TripAdvisor even more. Afterall, culture is most often the key ingredient in the recipe that results in world class teams.
We had booked a stay through TripAdvisor in May 22. Full payment had been made. Two weeks prior to our stay we received a call from Vacation Strategy LLC at 3:30pm informing us that the owner of the facility had cancelled and they would try to find a place for us. They further stated that in order to get a full refund we had to do it by 6pm. There is no ability to contact TripAdvisor in a timely manner in order to get problem corrected. We had to jump through hoops to get a replacement through another vendor. Due to short time and peak season we ended up paying more money for inferior facility. This took over three hours of time that we needed to be be doing something else. TripAdvisor to their credit issued a refund within three hours. There needs to be a contact number at TripAdvisor that can handle situations like this without the onus being put totally on the customer to rectify the situation. We will never use TripAdvisor or Vacation Strategy LLC for anything in the future.
Trip advisor only allows favorable reviews, not honest and or authentic ones. They asked us to review our stay but when the review was made, they sent an Email saying they will not post it.
I recently purchased show tickets through TripAdvisor's subsidiary Viator. I mistakenly chose the wrong date - a week earlier than we would be in town. I did not realize this until after the original show date. I asked if I could transfer the reservation and was told I couldn't and was berated for not noticing within the policy 24-hour period. I understand policy and if I was trying to cancel it would be different - I still wanted the tickets, just on a different date. I don't recommend booking any entertainment through this site. Out the money and no show tickets.
If you fall victim to a troll, it will be your account that gets deleted.
I had user MsCheap1 criticize my post in one of the public forums, call me a troll, and tell me to "stay in Indiana". I emailed her in private, called her a "B", and set her straight. My post was deleted due to someone's hypersensitivity, likely hers. I reposted a more gently worded version. She posted a comment warning people about me. Flagged her comment as harassment and TripAdvisor did nothing. Instead, they deleted mine and somebody else's subsequent responses addressing her post. Found an email for TripAdvisor and emailed them directly. They ended up shutting my account down.
This was a clear-cut case of trolling, but I got the shaft and the troll got to keep her account. Despite being a level 6 contributor, TripAdvisor shut my account down without saying a word, and they won't answer my emails. I've had other issues where they've arbitrarily taken my review down and dance around giving you an answer why. Usually, it's a dangling "because your review does not meet our guidelines". When you ask why it doesn't meet their guidelines, they say because it doesn't meet their guidelines.

I tried to post an honets review and it was censored for mentioning that the particular event was selling the global political agenda. I'm not going to use this website after this. I used to look for opinions on it but now I can't trust this website anymore, as I know it does not respect all opinions.
Compared a couple Restaurants and decided to Order from the menu of the Waterfront, location St James City on the Island in Florida. Their 20 wings said $15.75 and steak and cheese sub for $9.75 on there posted menu (Totaling 25.50)
I was given my dinner and was told I owed them $44.09. Was speechless but I than told the cashier The price on the internet. A waitress than stepped in and told me I shouldn't believe what I see. HUN!
I than told her I could have gone to Texas Road House and gotten a Prime Rib Dinner with all the fix-ins for $35. I paid it because I was very hungry and it's hard for me to get around missing a leg but I did assure them that they wound never see another dollar from me.
For bites and the sub was gone. OMG, TOUREST BEWARE (I have the receipt)
Dozens of my reviews got deleted and some never published! TripAdvisor is an advertising agency and not an honest broker! I do not trust trip advisor with ratings! Look at other reviews and compare! This place is ministry of propaganda for profit!
Everybody can review everyone. That might sounds good but in reality is different. Your rivals can write about your business and literally everyone that might not actually had the chance to use your services. Even your friends. Therefore Tripadvisor has many fake reviews and it is a site that cannot be trusted. On top of that even if you know that one review is fake is almost impossible to conduct them and therefore delete it. There is no real use of this site in my opinion and is definitely the worst advisor for holidays. I am no longer using it.
Never go for a trip without their recommendations! Last holiday we`ve had it was on a cruise ship with Carnival. It was beautiful
Beware of signing for this service. They will autorenew the plan automatically each year ($99 / year) with no option to opt out after the renewal started and will not let you know about the renewal before they charge your credit card.
I run a tourism-oriented business in a ski town and have product listings on TripAdvisor/Viator. I have had THE WORST experience with them. They take a 22% commission, which is far higher than any other partner we work with and they provide notably terrible service. My business requires specific information (height, weight, shoe size, level of ability in the sport) about our customers so that we can provide them with safe equipment. TripAdvisor/Viator sends us consistently incorrect information. We routinely have to contact customers to confirm the information. This is bad enough, but usually TripAdvisor/Viator omits and form of contact info so the only way to reach out to the customer is through their own in-house messaging system. Often, our attempts to reach the customer are blocked. If we try to provide any of our own contact info to customers so that they can contact us, that information is redacted from the message the customer receives--if they receive any message at all. Their customer service is abysmal--you talk to a chat bot that is of no help and when you do contact a human, they inform you that they have no latitude to make any meaningful changes whatsoever that will help resolve any of the systemic issues that cause these poor performance problems.
It makes no sense at all to continue using TripAdvisor/Viator as a business partner and I cannot stress enough how bad of an experience it has been trying to conduct business through TripAdvisor/Viator.
Tripadvisor has blocked the possibility to post reviews in Russia in order to prevent people from sending accurate information about the war on Ukraine to russians via reviews. So as an effect Tripadvisor endorses the war on Ukraine and lends a helping hand to Putins propaganda machinery. Despicable! Boycott their services.
I was recently writing a review and one of the questions. Was did they provide a mask for unvaccinated. First off how the hell I am supposed to know. Is the restaurant even allowed to ask. Lastly vaccinated still spread the virus. What a stupid question
First off, I NEVER write reviews!
Guy( his name) at SHOWBOAT HOTEL (Atlantic City) front desk is Amaaaazing!
After getting the runaround from several other reps! This man took the time to hear out my issue, took the time to explain the full details of my issue, and advise me of the next step to resolve my issue. After several people brushing me off, transferring me all around for DAYS…. Guy's customer service, his patience with my issue and his tone really calmed my frustration and gave me a lot more clarity on the situation. I must say, I am impressed at how polite, professional and patient he was! Very great asset to his department!
We use this same Premier Inn several times a year and have never been dissappointed with the staff, food and accommodation. The Assistant Manager, Joey and Emma were of great assistance. Nothing was a problem to them. The evening meals are something to write about as they are of superb quailty and the breakfasts are something to die for. All are cooked to an excellent standard especially the bacon which I have found at other hotels to be undercooked. You are looked after extremely well from booking in to booking out. In all, Premier Inn is a bargain place to stay.
Answer: Ya, its very easy, you can find your hotel and write as you want. What's your experience with this hotel.
Answer: Its hard to find it. I think you must need to find the correct name of your company or place. Then you can easily find any review
Answer: I don't have a chance about this. I think real reviews with good details published immediately.
