Hoping for a better experience in the quality of plant. Different variety. Never had a concern before, always great quality!
I was going to give a higher rating but forcing me to describe my previous experience makes this one less enjoyable. Just take my money and ship my trees.
The previous tree I purchased was a 4-5ft Frost Proof Peach. It came alive, but was basically one single stalk with a couple small branches at the very top and any lower branches were chopped off. In order to get the shape that is necessary for proper peach production, I had to prune about 2-3ft and all of the new growth off. So I basically bought a 2ft tree at the price of a 4-5ft one because of poor pruning from the nursery, and I won't have fruit for another year or two because of it. Wasted money.
Those who are familiar with growing peaches know that they should be pruned with an open center from a young age. The main branches starting no higher than 18-21 inches to maintain a proper open shape. The one I got had one main stalk and a few branches at about 4ft high,(WAY too high to salvage it without cutting everything down to 2ft and hoping for better next year). A fruit tree nursery should be more than experienced in proper peach pruning. I'm purchasing a smaller one in hopes that it will be short enough to prune properly without chopping half of it off and putting me a year or two behind on my growing schedule.
Still waiting to see if last purchase continues to make progress.
Expert consultation helpful for understanding what will grow well in zone 5. Also took into consideration results of my soil tests. One area in particular has very acidic soil. I've ordered previously from Fast Growing Tree company and the plants always arrive well packaged. Some look a little frazzled from the ride but they seem to perk up once in the ground and settled.
It's been a few years now since I bought several Arborvitae and 2 other windmill palms and all are doing fantastic!
This is the third growing year for our 12 Leyland Cypress. All but 2 are dead after this winter. The first 2 years were fine and they were thriving. I am sick over this.
I've ordered several trees over the years and they have all thrived. Easy ordering/shipping, and the plants arrived healthy and intact. I really appreciate the warranty; I have used it once before and that replacement tree is thriving!
One of the trees is great, the other died. Ok, they have the survive and thrive guarantee. They quickly approved the replacement. However the same tree is $45 less than when I bought it. Not only do i have to pay shipping on the replacement but they refuse to price match the new price for the same size. You would think they could cover the shipping and still pocket the extra $20 but they refuse to even do that. It just feels a little gross.
Bought a rose bush last year - it's now tripled in size and looks amazing! So, I thought I would get another one, plus I need some hostas for a shady spot!
Last purchase was great. Delivered on time and in great condition.
I purchased a red maple which arrived dormant. This Spring my red maple tree is sprouting tons of pretty green leaves.
Dependable plants and trees in pass helps to make a good reference.
Quality trees. Great variety to choose from and easy to follow planting instructions.
My trees came on time, were packed impeccably, trees were healthy and showed signs of new growth.
Healthy, thriving plants on arrival. I believe this business genuinely cares for its plants and selects nice specimens for me. That is evident and very important and pleasing to me.
Big assortment, and great prices. No better place to shop for your planting needs.
I bought from a big box store and wasn't always satisfied. Particularly with the amount of money I spend
I've ordered three fruit trees and six berry bushes, plus my most recent order of 12 wisteria trees. FGT is always reliable, and what's transparent if and when an issue arises with an order
I bought trees on two separate orders in 2025 w/warranties. Trees thrived throughout the summer and early winter; however, they did not survive late winter. I called to start warranty process. All was going well with initial customer service rep. I received a return call after sending pictures of as requested. This time a different representative was taking care of the process. I was quickly advised that I did not plant the trees properly and that is why they did not survive the winter. She did however say that the warranty would be honored for the first order qty but not the second qty as it was only covered by a 60-day warranty. I explained that I did not recall an option to buy a 1-year warranty at the time of order so I assumed I would be getting the same terms as my first order. Fast forward to a third correspondence from a different representative ( I think) to inform me that the size tree previously ordered was not in stock, but they would substitute with the next size taller tree, all I needed to pay was shipping. I agreed as that was in the terms of the warranty. I asked if she would work with me on the second order for a 50% discount due to warranty confusion if I purchased an additional 15 trees a full price. She said the best she could do was 30%. At that point I decided to terminate the conversation and informed her that I would source the trees else ware and would not be dealing with her company any further.
