I find that he's very hard headed and tends to ignore me when giving him a command. He's house training pretty good he has only made a couple accidents before we catch him. He love going outside and running around in the yard.
My 8 month old cocker spaniel Frankie was having trouble learing to go outside to pee. I ditched my usual cleaner and started using vinegar and water to scrub and to clean up after an accident. I also started taking her out more often and staying with her to encourage and praise her. After only a few days, she has gone from "many" accidents to having maybe 1 a day.
Our pup was terrible at biting. Like all pups his teeth are needle sharp and it was becoming a real problem. Your suggestion of simply putting him down on the floor and not making a fuss has resulted in much less biting.
