As a complete new product, they required a special test bench in order to have the possibility to test and qualify the product before reaching the market.
I was involved in developing a kind of low level driver between Windows PC and the underlying hardware: it's made by a FPGA code (to build custom hardware peripherals), an USB 3.0 for fast communication with the host and an API DLL to let application software reach out the hardware.
Project was well organized, Toptal helped me in focusing on the technology side, taking care of all legal and administrative stuff, contributing in the success of the project.
