I decided to use this service after spending a vast amount of time drafting my CV and not getting any interviews. I was amazed at how quickly I received my first draft and it was spot on with layout and skills. I am pleased with the result and will now be applying for jobs in my sector with confidence.

My previous CV had been professionally written for me. However, I have not been working for several years and thought it would be a good idea to update my CV before applying for work.

I sent my CV and received a polite and well written email with valid comments about updating it. After a discussion, my husband and I felt that it would be a good idea to use CVNow. It took a few days for the first draft to arrive and I have never been so disappointed, it was awful. The grammar was non-existent and the descriptions of the requirements were poor. I rejected it and almost the same CV returned to me.

I contacted the company again and was immediately given a different writer. She produced a far superior product which only required a couple of minor adjustments, one of which she asked me for. I was pleased with the final result and am now using it to apply for jobs. I have only applied for a couple so far but hope that I will be successful in the near future.

My main criticism is of the first writer who, in my opinion, needed supervision.

I've tinkered with my CV so much over the years it had lost the plot; I was searching for a new job when CVNow popped up and offered a free review of my CV. I was happy with my new CV and thought it was a good investment. Turnaround on the first draft, and my subsequent comments was quick and well within my timescales. The new layout looks impressive and I am happy to use with new job applications. My only criticism would be that some of the original grammar was not great, although it was easy for me to correct it. Could have been solved with a very easy proof read before sending back to me - but as I say, overall happy with the service and the outcome.

I did have a CV but after the free critique I was provided with I found out that my CV is for a doer not for a skilled person, succeed-er. Fell very happy that I decided to trust them for altering my CV. My CV was done by Heather. She improved my CV most by showing my achievements in a very effective manner. She did a great cover letter too. Any changes I asked for were done very quickly. Within couple of weeks, I had a better CV and most important-cover letter as it was quite difficult for me to do it myself because my English language is not perfect.

I ended up going for the Executive Priority package as I was quite encouraged by the free critique that CVNow would produce some good material. They definitely improved my CV and cover letter greatly!

She also did a great job in rewriting my LinkedIn profile (which I literally changed as soon as I got the first draft from her because it was perfect) and she did a great cover letter too. I used CVNow to help shape my CV and get it ready to send to employers. You often forget its a marketing tool to sell yourself. The person I dealt with brought it to life. Although, I was uncomfortable with some of the descriptions we managed to get it right in the end. The process is iterative and the more you put in the more you get out. Uploading information on roles is valuable too. Overall a great experience and result. I am certainly getting more interest than before too.

I made a submission to CVNOW to provide critique on my CV. The critique was consistent and proposed professional services from industry aligned experts to edit and format my CV, or that is at least how they market their services and the perception created to customers.

I went ahead and ordered the Career Evolution package. I received my first draft yesterday and I am so disappointment with the draft version I received back.

IT Project delivery was grouped together under bullet points which combined projects that wasn't related to one another (even though it was previously CV these were on separate rows), my experience, track record and skills have been diluted in the draft.

One can only surmise that CVNOW has a cookie cutter process with standardised templates and very little thought going into the process.

I have to mention that my CV was re-written by another company 18 months ago CV Centre.co.uk and the experience was worlds apart.

To add to the concern, CVNOW doesn't publish any contact number details for their Customer Support and the feedback I received from the writer was as follows.

"Hello XXXX,

Thank you for reaching out. The majority of our clients prefer to communicate through email rather than by telephone, which is why a telephone call is not a standard part of the process. Also, since written correspondence allows for you to communicate with us anytime and all written communication is stored with your project for the life of your account, this is the best method for exchanging information.

Of course, if you would like to speak about your project by phone, I can alert our support staff to give you a call."

I am still waiting for the call or correspondence from the Customer support services, after I emailed them directly.

I can only imagine that I'll receive the standard correspondence reply template back "I am truly sorry to hear that you were not happy with our services. We take all feedback very seriously and want to assure you that we'll get this worked out."

If you are in IT and you want to truly highlight your skills, rather go to individuals instead of a faceless, virtual company that operates on the premise of being a revenue hungry monster.

Please don't fall for the marketing as this lures people into a false sense of expectations...
