The company enjoys a mixed reputation among customers, with positive sentiments highlighting the quality and variety of products available at competitive prices. However, numerous reviews indicate significant dissatisfaction with customer service, particularly regarding online order fulfillment, long shipping times, and complications during returns. Many customers expressed frustration over unhelpful staff interactions and poor handling of defective items, which detracted from their overall shopping experience. This feedback suggests a need for improved training for customer service representatives and more efficient processes for managing online orders and returns to enhance customer satisfaction.

I ordered a squishmallow on 3/9. Two days ago, I was informed that my order has been cancelled and wasn't given a reason why. I am hesitant to order from TJ Maxx online again, especially since this seems to be a common occurrence for this store. I am disappointed because I was looking forward to receive my product. Additionally, I used a free shipping code for this purchase, and now this code is invalid, even though my order was cancelled.
They asked me for a passport for a return without a receipt she was awfully rude about it and I don't think I will be coming here again.
Within the last 4-5 months, I've placed several orders on TJ Maxx and Marshalls' web sites. At least 4 of them have been cancelled (according to the emails) due to items being out of stock, despite the fact that when I check back on their web site several days later, the items are still listed as being in stock. I then have to resubmit a new order. In most cases once the new order is placed and shipped, those so-called out of stock items arrive at my door. It's ridiculous and someone at their HQ is messing things up. When one of my orders was cancelled due to payment issues, I called customer service to resolve it and try to figure out the problem was. They were of no help. All they could do was resubmit my payment information, which was a complete waste of time as my order was cancelled anyway. I really hope a consumer law suit is brought up against this company.
Never again. Placed order 1/20/22 for gifts. Showed me order was being worked on. Now today, all the sudden they cancelled EVERYTHING! What an absolute JOKE!
Shopping is a kind experience at the Fenton store. The employees are very helpful and have great attitudes which is a reflection of having a wonderful manager. Happy workers have a good supportive manager.
I find it absolutely ridiculous for a company to take anything over 5 business days to ship an online order. Unless you're making the item from scratch. I placed my order 10 business days ago and nothing. No cancellation. Just a sitting order. If macys can ship my order in 5 hours you sure as heck can get your processing together and ship faster. If you can't get your stuff together then stop trying to get into e-commerce. Never purchasing online again. I recommend you don't either cause who knows if and when I'll ever get my order. Maybe T.J.maxx.com is operating as a drop shipper. Whatever the case, annoying.
TJ Maxx ships order a week after it's placed unless you're paying for shipping. Your have to spend at least $89 to qualify for free shipping. It took over two weeks for me to receive my order and I've already lost interest of the things I ordered by the time I received them so had to return them to one of the local store. I'm glad I realized I didn't want the items that bad.
I find it very odd that TJxx profit more than 88.3 billion dollars total as a company, yet pay their employees $9 to $10 dollars an hour I have shopped at tjmaxx for a while and I have witnessed the employees work like slaves, while living like hell for most. They are expected to stand at register's for hours at a time, run all over the store cleaning up after some of the nastiest customers I have ever seen. In many cases, they get treated like crap, yet expected to survive on proverty level pay, while the big shots live in Mansions and fine dinning we have formed a group in every state to go into these stores and record and post the video on social media. No one should work that hard and get paid that low of a wage. I will NEVER shop at tjmaxx again until I see a change
Watch out when Shopping@ Tj Maxx@ Henderson location Columbus, Ohio. One of the cashier there is very rude and not friendly at all when you ask her to wrap your glassware so it won't break she will raise her voice to you and rolling her eyes and slamming while she's wrapping your stuff. I was just praying that it won't break. Anyway I said something why she's having an attitude she just look at me snd rolls her eyes more. I guess she just doesn't wanted to wrap my glassware which I should not ask her to do that as she should know that already part of her job and commonsense. I just let it go snd did not reported her which probably doesn't matter anyway. I'm very disappointed and probably won't shop there as much as don't wanted to be treated like that, very poor customer service. Spent lots of money there but now I will not do my business there.
Loyal customer -
The manager was really rude i went to clean the store and i was finishing up and referred to me as "that girl" she could've easily asked for my name and after i was about to leave the store was already open and starts yelling to me infront of the customers and starts talking to me rudely that is maladministration they need to hire a manger with good and friendly service it was a hispanic lady with glasses
I purchased online through PayPal and returned in the store and they would not send my money back to the PayPal account which many of the other stores do. Instead I was given store credit which is useless since I do not shop at Tj Maxx. Now I am forced to use that money at the store. How ridiculous.
Love TJ Maxx and Marshalls very much as well as home goods! Love them all but I'm so sick of the recording that plays over and over and over again and the signs about this virus and social distancing it's brainwashing at its best so sick of it please stop!
15 minutes before closing I called to ask about hiring knowing I only wanted to ask a few questions so my daugther can apply. I was only able to ask two questions before the Manager says "we are in the process of closing" like she did not even care and was interested that someone is interested to apply. I was like wait! I still have another question. The manager cared more about closing than someone trying to apply for a job. A company like this type of management I wonder how they talk to their employees. I would never recommend anyone to work at T. J. Maxx if they can careless. I would actually rate this store a zero but I had to put a star on to submit.
Awesome customer service
I can't believe how wonderful the customer service is at TJ Maxx. What do they do to attract and keep such wonderful people? Also love the merchandise in the prices.,
But the people who work there are absolutely fantastic. Everyone from the store clerks, today check out clerks. So they must have some great managers also, that gets such good performance from them.
I love the store in this company. The one in Asheville North Carolina is fantastic. I've been shopping there for years and it seems to be the best TJ Maxx ever been to
They don't warn you before buying, only afterwards that shipping takes a ridiculously long time. I ordered more than two weeks ago and nothing.
I've contacted them about 3 separate times. They're always rude, always blame the consumer, and are NEVER helpful. Literally, not one time have I been helped. Just buy stuff in stores because it is so not worth it.
The employees here don't actually care about you and half the time get annoyed when you ask for help or even when you're getting in line they don't hear about your day they just try to sell you their tjmax credit card. I went there just because my family was going I don't regularly shop there so I wasn't interested in buy anything other than some Halloween decorations that were already put out in the beginning of August. I paid $70.00 for a big pumpkin decoration, while I'm in line the manger himself is trying to promote the Tjmaxx rewards card saying no annual fees 10% back for every 200 you spend. I repeated said no I'm good and they kept hassle me saying you will save more. Some employees pass it off as just a reward card which it isn't definitely is not when reading the packet they give you. There is an annual fee and interest rate is 28%.
I shopped TJ Max in Green Bay, WI many times over the years. I never had a negative experience in the store until today when the clerk refused to give me cash back for an item I needed to return. I explained the situation 3 times to 3 clerks. I had purchased the return item using my new temporary TJ Max card. The plastic card has still not arrived by mail. I gave them the receipt I had from when I signed up for the card; they could get the info they needed from it. But they didn't. They refused to give me a cash refund. I will NEVER shop at TJ Max or Home Goods again. What happened to genuine customer service?!
1) It takes at least a full 2 weeks to receive your online order. And theres a very tight return timeframe already.
(It's also hard to plan payments on debit cards for 2 weeks later, when they finally deduct your money.)
2) The customer service reps are usually poorly informed, and rarely show any understanding or care.
3) There are glitches in the system: on multiple occasions, I got erroneous emails every 2 hours for days on end, until customer service responded to correct it. (And often, it takes repeated contacts for them to understand and fix it. Then, they don't offer any apologies.)
Answer: This site takes a lot longer to ship than normal sites. I do not know why they are slow. There's a chance they could also cancel your order because their inventory status is not usually up to date.
Answer: It's probably in the process of being cancelled. Tjmaxx online sucks
Answer: It seems they run true to size. I haven't had any difficulty but don't know about others.
