I was a fan of TJMax until today. I went to check out at TJ Max and when the cashier rang up my sale it was way higher than I expected. When I questioned the amount it was determined a comforter I purchased had two price tags and I had not noticed the higher one. A employee from the bedding department told the cashier to honor the lower price and walked away. Then I was told by another employee that "a customer" had apparently changed the price tag and the store would not honor the price then proceeded to pull the lower price tag off the item destroying it. At this point I asked to speak to the manager who also indicated the price tag had been tampered with by "a customer" and TJ Max would not honor the price on the comforter. I asked the cashier to verify the employee from the bedding department had said to honor the price and she said she was not sure. I was so embarrassed and humiliated standing at the register with three TJ Max employees announcing the price had been tampered with on the item I was trying to purchase and making me feel like a thief. I will never shop at TJ Max again and considering contacting an attorney.

Now I'm no snob but this is a place I wouldn't normally go to shop. I took a chance and expected some kind of, well, bargain basement type of experience.
Now I don't think they have the best shop layout and some areas were a little cluttered but the quality of the clothes that I considered buying turned out to be much better some well known and more expensive brands I could mention. I walked out of the store with a new smart coat and a pair of summer brogues, the total was £70 and I also received a money off coupon along with my change. It was definitely an unexpected surprise due to the fact my budget was well over £100 and I was on my way to spending it elsewhere.
The large store I visited sold some good-looking household items, that I may return to purchase, so I'll update on that experience when I get around to it.

I love shopping at Tjmaxx. Employees are very friendly at the store. I always find bargained items with good qualify. Love this store. I shop there at least once every two weeks.

I have used tk maxx a few times and found the goods to be real quality. So pleased with the savings I made at Christmas time. Fantastic site highly recommend it

They don't have lower prices on a particularly celebrated day: Mother's Day, Christmas or what have you. They have the lowest prices everyday. National brands,. No frills,. No gimmicks,. Just branded products at lowest prices. I bought a dress Polo shirt at T.Js for $15 and the same shirt was priced at $110 at Saks Fifth Ave. Even if you're well-off and don't mind paying $110 for the shirt at a top name retailer DON'T think you're getting $110 worth of materials and labor. Approximately 90% of that cost is 'margin'. A tax on idiots who are pretentious.

I should have made that clear in my original review. I only shop T. J. Maxx online. Our local store is a disgrace and has gone way down hill. Rack are crammed with clothes. Look dirty. Even the store appears dirty in general. Used to love going in the store. Now I never do. No point.

Messy stores.

Don't bother shopping there except for shoes. For just a few bucks more, shop Lord and Taylor. Great sales, good quality, nice sales people, clean stores. In the long run it costs less at L&T because you'll buy quality. Love L&T.

I like this shop for I always can find some amazing bargains.
All my make up, parfum, shampoos, face and body creams, soaps, so on only from them! I am buying every time more items than in the other shops, all are good quality.

I love this site because it does not have the same items that are in the store - it is a bit more like shopping at a department store than going to TJMaxx in that it has more sizes and items that they do not always carry in TJMaxx. Returning is easy - I just bring my items to a TJMaxx near me for return. You can do the mail return, lbut, I like being able to bring them back to a TJMaxx close by. They have a much larger variety of prom, wedding and formal gowns online than at the store! My daughter bought a few formal dresses through the online store. It was much easier to return items than the foreign websites, so, you can order a few sizes if necessary and return what does not fit!

I'm in my early 60's, and I believe that most of the clothing items are made for younger women. On the other hand, I get impatient browsing through racks of tightly stacked clothes. However, for things like hair care, spa and bath items, facial care, soaps, towels, and other linens, I have found some excellent deals on expensive, brand name items. At the store nearby, one thing I ALWAYS do is to make sure that the seals on the packages have NOT been broken, the lipsticks and makeups have NOT been used, and that nothing has been opened. You have to be careful about things like that. I LOVE TJ MAXX for toiletries and home products. I always spend way too much. Just be careful about the things I've mentioned, and I know you will love TJ MAXX, too.

Okay place to shop

If you don't like something, you can take it back to your local store. What a nightmare I had when I did. The store staff didn't have a clue what they were doing... That's not the website's fault though!

"Communication is the Key"
I am a Merchandise Coordinator & have been employed at TJ Maxx for more than 3 years. The company stopped allowing quarterly Store Meetings at which all associates were encouraged to attend. They also stopped supplying walkies & head sets for associates & managers to use.
First, to be clear, I love working for TJ Maxx. It is the most rewarding job I've ever had. Because I do, I want to express three concerns I have and many, if not all my associates have: Store MEETINGS, WALKIES and FUNDRAISING. Meetings and walkies are VERY, VERY significant toward good communication, and good communication results in EXCELLENT customer service. Our store associates & customers have noticed the negative effects of inferior communication over the past few months. The Help Desk is NO HELP. The few replacement walkies provided to us do not work. We would rather TJ Maxx NOT become a "Walmart" or "Belk" store, where every need or announcement is said over the Public Address System. The walkies aid in GREAT associate efficiency and EXCELLENT customer service. The store meetings really helped associates to bond and were so significant toward growth in knowledge. We could ask questions. We discussed any difficulties. We discussed solutions to those difficulties as one united group.
Lastly, we cannot raise funds inside or in front of our store for very worthy charities such as Relay For Life and Strides Against Breast Cancer. It puts a lot of stress on associates to try to find ways to do fundraising. It takes many hours away from the store to have any success in raising funds.
Please, PLEASE express the WORTH of your TJ employees and customers by giving back store meetings and enough walkies per number of associates in working condition. Help your dedicated associates to be successful for very significant charities. Thank you.
