I am writing the following as a warning to others.
A few years ago I purchased a pair of Timberland Boat Shoes (******* style) and since they were not cheap, I intended to wear them only on special occasions. To that end, I have always stored them in their original box in a cupboard at home. I reckon they have not been worn more than twenty times altogether. They still look like new as you will see from the attached photos. Recently my daughter bought me a new pair of Timberland BS's and so I decided to wear my "old ones" more often. Fast forward to a week ago whereupon on walking out of the house, I realised something felt wrong and could see that the left shoe sole has almost completely de-laminated and it looks like the bond between two layers of the sole has failed. On examination, the other shoe is also showing signs of failing the same way. Needless to say I am very disappointed/annoyed since I have always kept them in such good condition. They were were purchased from a reputable store, Jones Bootmaker, The Oracle Centre, Reading, Berks.
They are obviously outside their normal warranty period however I don't think its reasonable for expensive shoes to fail in this way.
I have tried four times to contact Timberland but have not received a reply!
I have had 3 pairs of 6" work boots now. Each pair drops in quality. The latest pair are very obviously low quality. I will never buy these again.
I gave this package back to USPS with the shipping label they sent me as instructed by them on January 20th 2022 and it was sent to FedEx January 21st 2022. The last update was January 31,2022 departed FedEx location and now I cannot track the package at all, there has been no update at all. I have emailed them constantly about my refund and they have completely refused to give me my money back! I do not have the package anymore, it is out of my hands after sending back as they wanted me to. Every time I email them, they tell me o have to wait 10 days for them to receive the package then 7-10 days for my refund. Then I email them again after 19 days and they tell me I have to wait another 20 days! I don't know why they are SCAMMING me like this! I do not have the item or my money now, they have robbed me of over $200. I just want my refund back and they are giving me the run around! I literally just want my money back!
Had two pairs of there pretend boots and the soles detached from the uppers the moment they saw a forest. Made for softy city boys only.
Honestly the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Took my money, 10 days later sent an email saying the order had been cancelled with no explanation. When I contacted them they told me it was either that the product was out of stock or there was a payment issue, but they didn't know why. The website still shows my product in stock and they had my money so neither are correct. A week later and I'm still arguing with customer service who won't send my product and won't send my refund!
I purchased nubuc splitrock 2 hiking boots 4 months ago and at this point they have degraded to tramp standard. The stitching at the back on BOTH PAIRS tore and the side ankle cushioning began to badly fray.
I contacted Timberland Customer services and they had the audacity to call it wear and tear!
Advertised as premium hiking boots
Degrade that badly in only 4 months!
£130 cost price
Avoid Timberland like the plauge if you want value for money.
I bought these women's hiking boots for work and hiking. They are uncomfortable, had to buy inserts, not warm. And then found out them to not be waterproof during rain. Tried to return them 10mo old, and after much effort Timberland denied my claim. So glad I spent $ 90 on fashion boots to wear in pleasant weather. Do not purchase.
Horrible customer service and horrible quality... the soul is coming unglued on my boots that aren't even 1 year old, I spent almost $300 on them and they emailed me back and told me the soul coming unglued isn't their problem it's mine basically... very unimpressed with timberland!
A couple of weeks ago I dropped over 500lbs of steel over my foot... The boot deflected the mass and really I ended up with pretty much just a bad bruise... I fully stand behind these safety boots! Wouldn't consider any other brand!
Comfortable shoes but didn't hold up on hikes... bottoms are glued on and fell apart after a few good hikes. Do not recommend the brand.
They give you a 12 month warranty because that is all they will last. My sole started coming off after 9 months. That was on my first pair but I figured well they were warm and water proof so this year I tried them again. Not even 6 months and they are falling apart. I work for a living and I will never by this crap again. No pictures I through them away. If I could give them less than 1 star I would.
The website is down half of the time I try to visit it. I cannot send a support request because it says for me to prove I'm not a robot but there is no captcha. The size chart does not regard the length of men's bottoms and it's not on the same scale the product is. What a truly sucky service
I first bought some Timberland deck shoes in the '80s sometime - not sure just when... and have replaced them with the same - comfortable, durable, good quality. I recently ordered my 3rd pair... wow, what a disappointment. I don't know if the company has changed hands, or what. Sole color is now stark white - which I'm not fond of, but the worst part was the new 'inner sole' - a nice piece of smooth leather, which at first I thought was a good touch - is absurd. I can just envision some eager MBA 'Bottom Line' Clown saying "Hey - I know what! We can save a buck per shoe if we only run that innersole part way up the shoe! And some dim-witted Exec. Said 'OK'!
So, you have this nice HALF innersole that curls up every time you remove your foot from the shoe. I'll never buy another Timberland shoe of any kind. They've become money-grubbing 'Bottom Line Babies'.

I bought a pair that first lasted me a year then i bought another pair that lasted me a 3 months I contacted the warranty department and it took them 2 weeks to get back to me and after told me I could send my old pair back and they would fix them or send me a new pair. I emailed them pictures and it took them a week to tell me I needed to send pictures of the tongue rag code and then in a hour told me they where manufactured over a year ago. Quads they don't know things take awhile to ship and stay on store shelves for awhile. I'm not buying these again. Nor do I endorse this junk.
Bought custom made shoes for the hubby ($150), which I chose everything to be black including the thread. To my surprise the thread on the soles came in white. Emailed customer service team who claimed the factory in the Dominican Republic confirmed that is the only thread they use on custom orders. Why would I order an all black shoe w/white thread? Customer service is a joke, they refuse to honor their mistake and out of a purchase of $150 they're offering a $30 egift card? If I could give it a negative zero star that would be what they deserve.
I bought these top grain leather, steel toed insulated boots a couple of years ago. They get very little wear as I have other steel toes I wear when it is warm. I put these on to do a trenching job and as I walked to the shop to get some tools it looked as if smoke were puffing out of the soles. By the time I got to the shop the right sole literally fell off and the left one partially fell off. As you can see by the photos these are essentially new. Never subjected to oils or solvents and worn very little. Very expensive to purchase and very cheaply made...
Bought these at famous footwear, one month later they are broken and they won't guarantee a return or exchange!
This company is one big fat joke!
This company is one big fat joke! I pray someone starts a legal suit against them. I shipped back a pair of timberlands in November 16th and still never received a refund! They keep telling me with no shipping tracking number that they can't help me. I would NEVER order from these people again. Sad part is, before I sent the first pair back, I ordered a more expensive shoe. Pitiful!
Misleading advertising. Disappointing service!
Bought a gift for Christmas on Black Friday with the possibility of making the return by January 10 I find that for a size change I have to return the package and make a new order at full price with a difference of 200 euros. (leather jacket paid at 299 during black friday - full price 499). The timberland policy does not provide for the possibility of replacing the size or buying the same item at the same price as the black friday! After contacting the costumer care they offered me a 15% discount code on a new purchase... and... do they expect me to be happy for bying the item again spending 125 euros more?! NEVER AGAIN!
Horrible experience shopping with Timeberland online. It promised to come 3-4 days and did not show up in a month. They had no clue and did not take any responsibility. Customer service reps can not be any worse.
I ordered the same boot through Amazon, came in two days and boots are fine.
Will never ever buy from them.
