These people are crooks with a capital C. I'm trying to return what I purchased. They did the bait and switch scam on me. I didn't receive several items, lens included. I have made dozen of attempts to contact this company to receive a RMA number for a return, numerous emails too. They emailed back once and ask me to call them at 12:35 pm est. (I'm sure that was lunch time). I responed that they needed to call ME at 11:36 am ct. These people are insane, I wish I would have read the reveiw before I let there low prices pull me into their scam. I have filed complaints with the NYAG, the FTC, the BBB and every web site I can find. Hopefully other honest consumers will stay far away for this unorganize crime group. I'm out $600. These people need to be shut down and pointed to a jail!

Why doesn't everyone get together and file a Class Action lawsuite.

Also, their business practices are criminal... Go to the local police and file a criminal complait for "THEFT BY DECEPTION". This will either make them do the right thing or close up shop.

Ordered sony a300 in september. After going through the same hoops everyone else apparently has (expensive upgrades, back order etc) i canceled my order. About a month later noticed i had checked my online banking to find a nice $172.50 charge for studying abroad in australia. Considering i've never been to australia, this was news to me. Long story short, called bank, bank said charge from india, apparently someone thundercameras.com thought my credit card number would be useful for other people to use! Hooray for them... bastards. TOTAL SCAM. Scumbag outfit. (fyi only purchase on aforementioned credit card was thundercameras.com)

Placed an order on their website. A few days later they called to verify my order and told me that the D90 I ordered was not the US version and that they are running a special with the Sigma 18-200 mm lens and that Sigma is owned by Nikon. They sent the European d90. Bait and switch. My expert was Andrew. Well trained to scam.

Everything I have read in the articles on this web site confirm my experience with this company. I ordered a camer that they never had (NikonD700) with accessaries. Kept calling to confirm shipment. Finally a month later they cancled the order since they said the camera wasn't available from the manufacturer. I called insisting on a refund to my credit card, which they have had since I ordered it. No response. I have since written the AG office on consumer fraud in NY city and notified my bank which is investigating. Not to beat a dead horse but these are rude, crude, unethical schisters and in now way have the customer as number one. They are a joke and I'm just sorry I didn't read these reviews befor I purchased. By the way the camera I ordered was advertised at the time for $1,199. I just noticed that they now have it advertised for $769.00. No one has this camera in stock in the country. I have checked. Another example of bait and switch.

I originally ordered this camera from Thundercameras in mid October. I called back in early November when iit hadn't arrived. I was told that they were sorry that it was back ordered and that I should have received an email which I didn't. I called again and was told that they didn't know when it would be shipped and was encouraged to find another camera. I called and cancelled this order. I went to saveheredigital and ordered the camera. The salesman called and sold me a warranty that I immediately called back the next day and cancelled. It had not shipped yet. When I received my VISA bill, thundercameras had billed my account. I called to find out what it was all about and they denied that I had cancelled the order and it was sitting at UPS waiting for pickup. I tried to get them to release the camera without the warranty and they said it was impossible and cancelled the order. I recognized the man named Stephen as the same one from saveheredigital. He denied that he was associated with the any other website. They said that it would be refunded in 5 -7 days. Later that same morning, I found my order for saveheredigital and spoke to customer service about that order. I was told that it had been cancelled and once again I spoke to "Stephen" who denied knowing anything about "Thundercameras". What a scam. They made me feel like I was the one that was crazy!

I have the same experience as many other customers. I was attracted by the low prices that Thunder cameras offers, but when I placed the order I got an email asking me to give them a call to verify the order. When I called the salesman tried to sell me an upgrade for 50% more money, then when I refused he offer me an US made lense instead of the imported one I was ordering for an extra 30%, and that was an attractive option to stay away from the gray market.
When I got the lens it was made in Taiwan, so I called customer service to verify my order, they were very rude telling me i got what i ordered. I tried to get the link in his website for the part i was ordering, and he couldn't tell me, finally he said that the one I wanted to order had a plastic ring and the one they sold me had a titanium ring, and if I wasn't satisfied I could return it but they will charge me for the shipping expenses (20%). I am stuck with this overpriced item, it is much cheaper on ebay and with much more buyer protection.
Definitely stay away from these bait and switch deals.

This company is a total bait and switch operation. Called to order a camera this is no long made, even though they show it on their website. After four days got talked into buying another model. Got the item, was very unhappy with it, returned it. They took four days to pick it up from the USPS office. Called after 5 days, asked who I was speaking with and got the answer "why?". Then without looking at my order they said "oh yeah you will have it by the end of the week" and hung up. When the order didn't arrive I called 5 days in a row and got a message that they were closed. When I finally got someone and asked about it, they don't even stock the products they advertise as "in stock" and the guy started yelling at me. Talked the same person 5 times and 3 times he used a different name. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THESE THIEVES AS YOU CAN.

I ordered a canon T2i at what appeared to be a wonderful price. I was then called to "confirm details" of my purchase. This really was to inform me that my purchase was of an import model and would not come with battery, charger, English manual etc. They then attempted to sell me the American version at a much higher price along with accessories at 3x prices in other stores. Classic bait n switch. Well I did not switch... and suddenly the camera which they show on their website as
"Availability: Usually Ships in 1 to 2 Business Days" Is backordered for me. When I called customer service they told me it would be at least a month before I see the camera. They really only want to suck you in with a great price and then sell you a bunch of other things at 3x normal prices. If you don't go for it they don't want to fulfill your order.

Update: After sharing with Thunder camera that I have left negative and honest reviews on multiple websites, they gave me a full refund and asked me to update my reviews. Regardless, stay clear of these guys, they are a very shady business. If I didn't speak up, they would have taken my hard earned money. If you have been had by these guys, don't fret! Just post a your story on review websites such as this one and resellerratings.com and soon enough Thunder cameras will contact you and ask you to change your review. Don't give in and ask for a refund, they will eventually comply. Stay away from these dudes, they are East Coast shady business guys.

A lens for my camera was the cheapest on this site. I ordered it and was called to verify my order. I was asked what kind of camera I am using and was then told this lens would not fit my digital camera. The lens that WOULD FIT was $800 more! I checked the specs on the lens again and there was nothing that indicated this lens was not for digital. All numbers and specs were the same as the lens for more $$.

Scum of the earth!
August 28, 2010

Scum of the earth!
Do not buy ANYTHING from Thundercamers!
I attempted to buy a $2300 Nikon D90 package and accepted several upgrades. I received the camera body only, and was over charged $400 for that portion of the order. The upgrades were the lowest grade products available, and my "back order lenses" never arrived. The whole reason I order the package was for the lenses! After arguing with the one and only guy I spoke with time after time, "Josh" offered a refund of $100. The refund was never credited to my account either...

I just had the worse experience from thunder cameras website. It is cheat to me. It use very low price to absorb customer and try to sell the very expensive accessories. The customer service is very nice before you order and very bad after you order. And I hope everyone know this information and no one will be fooled by this website.

I was trying to get one Sony hdr-200v camcorder.

The first time I order it, the price is $469. After I order, someone call me said they don't have stock and I have to wait for another 4 weeks to get it. And I canceled it because I don't know I can wait so long or not.(Well, now I know the reason, it just don't want to sell to me because I ask my friend call them after two days and they said they have stock and the price include battery!)

After two days, I decide I still want it. So I still go and check it and found the price is $479 now. Ok, $10 more is fine for me. I still order it. Then someone call me and ask why I didn't order the battery. I check the product's web page immediately. And in the "INCLUDED ACCESSORIES", it was very clearly said include battery. So I told the man check the web page. After check the page he is getting very anger and keeping ask me "the price is $579 include battery, Do you want or not?" My felling is like if I want to get the camera I have to pay the price include the battery other wise I can not get it. So I cancel it. After I hang up this person' phone call, I found they change the product's web page and delete the battery's information. At
Then I check ebay and found the battery only cost $10 for new one. I'm glad I didn't accept the price $579.

The I go back the website and still order the camcorder. I decide I only want the camcorder. The price is change back to $469 now. But after I order, it send me one email and cancel my order without any reason!

I just tell everyone the truth and hope every one be careful with this website.

Based on the worse customer service, I think it really will be a big trouble if the product has any tiny problem. I don't think they will like figure out the problem for me.

Worst experience I've ever had. I ordered a camera on Saturday. Got the upsale call on Monday. Even agreed to the upgrade and spent more. Paid for 3 day shipping. Called on Thursday to Track the order. The guy in customer service was rude and I said "well that was a litttle rude" he said "Oh yeah well your order is cancelled" I said "Wait I don't want to cancel the order" He said "Well we reserve the right to cancell any order" I asked for his manager and he hung up.
I called back and asked for a manager and the manager was worse! Told me that the camera was on backorder and if I thought they were rude to "go buy a camera from someone who isn't rude"
He told me the owners name was Mahusha Manta and that he doesn't talk to customers. He also told me good luck on complaining to anyone else.
Honestly if you order from them you're asking for trouble.

1. This sequence is similar to many others dealing with Thundercamera
2. Presumed NexTag did due diligence and knew their previous history
Aka, SunShine, StopNshop, which is disappointing.
3. Ordered a bargain camera & lens from Thundercamera through NexTag
4. Received standard post order up sale call from "Andy", indicating I was
Buying offshore goods with no warranty and old edition lens.
5. Threat of cancellation $ 50.00
6. New offer for lens I thought I ordered plus $ 390.00
7. I decline and "Andy" presented new offer of plus $ 100.00 rhyming of
The specs of the lens but not the make or brand.
8. Day later I realized I was had. As order confirmation did not list brand name.
9. I called and he wouldn't cancel and made various financial threats for

8. Unable to obtain RMA number either by e-mail or by phone.

Avoid this place like the plague... very deceptive and dishonest. I called to see why there prices were much cheaper and the customer service agent was very rude and defensive. I mention the special they were running 10% off, but I was told that i would need to purchase my product at the listed price and they would call me to make the adjustment. It seemed very odd that unlike other sites where they honor their discounts immediately, Thundercameras was beating around the bush.

Do yourself a favor and again avoid them like the plague... not worth the grief and uncertainty. Some of the positive reviews are probably written by their staff..

Ordered a Canon Rebel T1 and a Canon zoom-lens 28-135mm because thundercamera had the best prices.
Next day I got a call from them to verify my order, where they tried to make me buy extremely expensive upgrades and other lenses instead of the one I wanted.
I refused and next day my order was in back order!
I called them to ask about this and they tried to make me buy another lens (they would call the US-model, that would ship right away... but would cost me a lot more) I thanked no, and they said that my existing order wouldn't ship, untill 5 or 6 weeks later.
I canceled my order and the voice in the phone just said, "ok, bye!" No, trying to excuse, no trying to work thiings out... I was just one of those people that they couldn't make money on... I guess!?
BAD EXPERIENCE!
