We sent a fur coat to these liars in September of 2021. Twice they have said it was sold and they would send the money within 45 days it is now January 1 2022 and they will not even acknowledge the where abouts of my coat much less send a payment. It seems maybe that have lost it and refuse to respond. RUN DON'T TRUST THESE FOLKS AT ALL.
Everything was as described and shown in the pictures and shipped very quickly.
Nice way to purchase upscale items at a discount. Have used site this past year, what I am learning is to stay away from final sale items that cannot be returned. I've purchased 2 shoulder bags that had small tears in the leather shoulder straps that got larger, a mink hat that is too small and another purse that I thought was perfect in the photos but once I received the actual purse, I don't like. I've also had a few pairs of shoes damaged that I was able to return, but I wondered why no one at TRR saw the damage prior to accepting the item to sell or during shipping!
Have been more successful with jewelry items! Shop with caution!
I've bought quite a few items from jewelry to designer clothing. I've found the West Hollywood store crazily dis-organized, but the on-line purchasing is superb.
The ratings are all over the board "very good" can be listed on stained items with missing buttons, "good" can list items that are new without tags? A "faint spot" is often a large permanent stain. Their sales reps are psychotic and aggressive. The style numbers for items are almost always incorrect making me question authenticity of items. How hard is a quick google search? Customer service can take WEEKS for a question… which is odd bc the sales reps literally call 90 times a day. It's just odd.
The ladies clothes are smaller than normal. One of my purchased shoes were larger than the other and I had to return the items as they weren't wearable. Overall, the men's and children's purchases were reasonable, in great condition and worked really well.
I discovered TRR a year and a half ago and purchased over three dozen items.
This is my newest favorite online clothing store.

I had been working well with the RealReal contact, Christina. Yeghnazarian, who got me through the process of taking pictures, reviewing the clothes, shoes, bags for resale, and signing the contract as a consignor. Christina then introduced me to the local contact, Nicole Jessen, for pickup. Nicole reached out to me to schedule a time for which she did a no-show, without even a text or email saying she could not come, then rescheduled and did the same thing TWICE more. At that point, I reached out to Christina who said she did not have an alternate local contact for me. This string of efforts for both me and the RealReal is pointless. If there is no local contact, at least offer the option of sending a box with a pre-paid delivery label. Until there is an alternative way to send my items for consignment, I see no reason to work with the RealReal again either as a consignor or a customer.
Item described accurately and received as expected. I find TRR descriptions to be detailed and received in better condition than imagined. Pictures are accurate. Shipping and Delivery times as promised. It has always been a pleasure shopping at The Real Real!
I keep finding the most beautiful pieces on TRR, and with such fabulous quality designer lines at such reasonable prices!
In today's lack of custom service world, I am truly impressed with the short wait, quick action and polite and helpful sevice received. It is why I keep on but/sell at TRR
I returned an item in November, and I didn't receive the refund until now! But I already saw the item I returned on the website again. And I messaged with customer service, they didn't reply me at all!
I buy from here a lot. I have to say I had only one issue and it was rectified immediately. I love the merchandise I have purchased and I love the fact that if I don't like it I can return with no problem.

I gave real real at least 50 items to sell a couple years ago. In that group of items I received back a Chanel purse saying it could not be authenticated. I personally bought the Chanel purse at Neiman Marcus in the 80's. I carried it les than 20 times at most as I never concidered Chanel a good style for me. The purse I received back was not the authentic purse I sent but a good replica. The purse that was sent back had been dyed. I know the one I gave you to sell had not been dyed ever. I feel someone switched the purses and sent me the dyed one in place of one I sent. Obviously it is my word against yours but I feel duped. I brought it up several times to The Real Real and complained about this and never heard back anything much less an apology. I am unhappy about this!

Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
