My experience with Real Real has been a great one. I love the pricing they give for my consigned items, and the prompt payments. However i would like it better if i could trade some of my items that have been on consignment for too long for a item i see on the website. Seeing that i'm a faithful customer i think that option should be considered. Overall i am pleased. Thanks.
The Real Real was recommended to me by a friend and has quickly become my new favorite shopping site! It's easy to navigate, items come quickly and everything I have received is in the exact condition that was promised. Could not be happier with my experience.
Ordering online was easy and customer service was great. I feel the postage for smaller items to someone living overseas is on the high side. Easy site to navigate and The RealReal are great with their marketing.
I have purchased several things from The RealReal. Watches and handbags. My last purchase didn't work out very well but I returned the watch and got my refund amazingly fast. Even though this last purchase didn't work out, I will continue to shop The RealReal.
I love shopping on TRR, because they have such a great selection, with competitive prices.
I will say that I have noticed the measurements on clothing aren't always spot on, but other than that, descriptions, photos, and packaging is on point. I'm always so excited get my order!
I like a bargain, so I tend to shop the sales. You know whatever it is will be in great condition and exactly what they say it is.
I've been buying & selling for years now: I am completely pleased! All the other Copycats that folllwed the Resale Industry lead of The Real Real, Can not hompare!
Product as advertised and very quick delivery! Would recommend to others.
Always happy with my purchases from TRR (and their customer service team is very helpful in the rare case of off-descriptions).
I cosigned my purse with theRealReal. The cosign expert came and took my purse. And then there was no status follow up for 1 month. I had to call customer service multiple times and every time there was a long wait and the customer service rep couldn't even answer questions I had. I had to cancel the cosign and have item returned. The purse came back in a rough shipping box with no protection! The purse has multiple scratches on the side, one is very deep and obvious! How could they handle luxury product like this while calling themselves ´ luxury product expert'? They even don' care and handle the product properly. Disappointment is not the word I can describe, it is worst ever customer service I ever had. I need theRealReal to be responsible for the damage.
They listed my chrome hearts choker as a bracelet and claimed it was damaged never shipped back to me or corrected their listing. I emailed Multiple times and nobody replied for weeks. I commented and DMed on Instagram where I received generic apologies but not even an estimated time for someone to get back to me. I called and waited for over an hour on hold to which I was told their Consignor relations specialist works remotely and does not have a email nor number I could directly speak to. My sequestered items are bought from department stores, boutiques, or Mytheresa and farfetch... I was able to provide receipts for online purchases but nobody ever got back to me and still has not returned many items back to me. For some reason they listed a Marc Jacob's coat on my account that I also emailed multiple times to tell them it's not mine, and was told someone will get back to me which they never did. Somehow they ended up sending the coat To me as "Consignor requested return". It's not mine! Someone must be missing it!
This site is horrible to it's employees and customers
They sell fake items and you pay the shipping to return them if you even can
They just removed all the verbiage about all items sold being 100% authenticate from their site
They knowingly sell fake items and they have inexperienced people doing the job of authentication who are overwhelmed by the quantity of items required to list
The premise is good the business is horrible and out right lies about their ability to process items and they are not authenticating numerous items they sell
Go elsewhere
You can score some fantastic deals buying if you know what you are looking for, know your brands and your size. The shipping and return times are acceptable and they address any related issues in a timely manner most of the time.
However, you will have to take risks and be willing to lose big on your items when consigning with the RealReal. Regardless of tag or no tag or you providing original receipt or approximate value, they still assign their own value as they see fit regardless of accuracy or fairness. You will waste so much time communicating with them just to get their spiel responses every single time with no actual resolution because they don't care.
I had recently purchased an item at a certain price but missed the return period due to being away for my honeymoon so unfortunately had to consign it with them when I got back knowing that I won't get the full value back when they sell it but that's the price you pay for missing the return window and I'm ok with that part. But that wasn't the worst of it. They priced the item at half the original price! I had to waste so much time emailing them million times, pulling teeth to address this issue which they responded to by raising the price little by little every time but never to the original price that I bought it from them just few weeks ago.
I believe they play favoritism with some customers who manage to get the most money for their items. Maybe the lower its priced for the second time around, the better for them since they will pay you even less once sold, that and their untrained employees in customer service can explain how one item is not priced the same within weeks when not worn or used.
Considering how many times I got wrong items shipped, or not shipped at all due to listing errors, where the size was wrong or items had defects and sometimes unauthentic, you would think the least they would do for a customer is to resolve an issue as simple as pricing something the same when the condition didn't change and the amount of time that passed isn't material. Very disappointing.
BUYER BEWARE, ITEMS ARE NOT ALWAYS REAL FROM THE REAL, REAL!
Be very careful! I have purchased thousand of dollars from this company. At first things seemed to be okay. Unfortunately, their business has grown and the customer service and process of authenticating items are no longer reliable. The bracelet I received today was represented as a solid 14k gold bracelet weighing 44.7 grams. In fact it is a "Milor" 14k RESIN bracelet. I paid $1242. 50 for the same ones selling on Ebay for 299.00. The crazy thing is they have a yellow gold bracelet on their own site for 50% of what I paid with the proper description and disclosing the fact the bracelet is RESIN. I emailed customer service showing the two items on their site. I was told they would look into it. This makes me question everything I have purchased from them. Clearly their "so-called" authenticators are not too good. Should you choose to purchase from this site, buyer beware. There is no way to leave a review on the site. The reviews are controlled by the company.
I was sick of the haggling on Poshmark so I sent my items to Real. Please look at the picture. Those shoes Retailed for $525. I got $49 for them from Real! Looking back, I'll haggle with people! Who KNOWS how much Real kept! Stick with Poshmark! You're dealing with actual people! This
Is a scam!

I recently became a seller on The RealReal and I have been so impressed by the due diligence and authentication process they put the items through! I just wish they could speed up the process a bit as it has been a month since I dropped off 10 luxury bags and they still have not cleared them for sale. I bought two Fendi shoes on their site and have complete faith in the site!
Hello,
We are so sorry your items are taking longer than anticipated to be listed. We would be happy to take a further look into this if you could send us a private message with your email and consignment ID.

The RealReal is incentivizing people to post positive reviews bc it's in deep trouble with investors over their "authenticating" process not being "authentic". This site is about to get flooded with positive "reviews"...
I've ordered maybe 5 things off of TRR, The first few went off without a hitch, but the last 2 have just cost me money. They were both sunglasses, and they were both marked as men's when they were in fact women's. If they can't get these basic details right, it makes me not want to order anything more complicated from them. Any decent company would eat the cost of the initial shipping, and offer free return shipping, but they do neither of these things, so having them ship me the wrong item costs me $11.95 x 2 ($23.90 for shipping to me and the return), and them doing this twice has now cost $47.80! I'll be talking to my credit card about getting the shipping costs refunded if possible.
Hello Grey, we sincerely appreciate your feedback and regret we were not able to offer better service during the initial issue with the two orders. If you could please send us a Private Message and provide us with your email address and order numbers, we may better assist.
Why are they allowed to sell fake handbags! I thought this was against the law. Never buying from here again. And no customer service.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. She is available from 9am to 6pm (EST) and of course you can reach us via email at: [email protected].
Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
