Overall, merchandise is describe perfectly to what I've received and the various pictures are great as it shows different angles.
Problem Issues that should be improved:
1. Customers should have an option to waive the postage return fee if they choose to have store credit like other similar sites.
2. When you place an item in your bag, 20 minutes is not long enough as I'm shopping and feel stressed and I'm going to lose my item so I purchase it, pay the delivery fee and then if I see something else I want to buy, I have to pay for a second delivery fee! It dissuades me from making the purchase and continue my shopping experience. Give reasonable time frame: 30-45 minutes. Take away the pressure of playing the game of "Beating the Timeclock"!
If this is done, this site would be fantastic!

The real real commercials have the worst outfit styling I've seen in my life, my toddler could have done a better job blindly picking garments. I don't understand why the stylist was not only allowed final say, but subsequently wasn't fired for the tremendously bad styling job to promote their product. The commercials and advertisements make me and everyone else of the influential generation not want to even associate with this ugly nonsense. Severely disappointed.
Love The RealReal! My most recent purchase was a tan lamb leather mini dress that can be worn countless ways in different seasons. This is one of my favorite clothing sites, not only is there an abundance of beautiful items to purchase, but you are supporting the high end fashion industry as the second owner of quality goods that will last for years to come. Be aware of your body measurements as different brands have very different sizing. I'm usually a size 4/SM, but have ordered anywhere from an XS-MED. I've only had to return one item(too small) and it was a very easy process. I recommend to friends often.
Spoke with Geraldine in customer service who couldn't have been more helpful concerning a return that was delivered without a tag! However, the email for the return info & label was nowhere to be found on my account. So I'm sending the item to the Perth Amboy New Jersey address for return. Usually have no " snags" when ordering & returning & love this company!
The Real Real sold me a fake vintage Chanel handbag. Despite their claims of vigorous authentication protocols, the rumors are true - the Real Real's inventory includes items that are not authentic. I made my purchase at the Upper East Store in Manhattan, NY. Upon purchase, I took the bag priced at $945 to the Chanel store near 5th Avenue. I asked the sales clerk if I could have the bag cleaned (FYI: Chanel does not authenticate bags unless they are to be "cleaned" or "repaired". Furthermore, without a receipt, if the bag is (as all vintage bags are) older than 5 years, their policy is to not accept any cleanings or repairs on Chanel merchandise. However, I was very very fortunate that day, as due to the pandemic, Chanel was not busy and more than accommodating - they accepted my purchase to be cleaned. Two days later, I received an e-mail that I should pick up my handbag as it was declined to be seen by a repair specialist. When I went to pick up the item, I was pulled into their 2nd floor private office, where the sales associate returned the bag along with an enclosed letter stating that the item to be cleaned was denied due to a lack of authenticity! I immediately went to the UES Real Real store to ask for a refund. I was hassled and accused of dishonesty by the sales associate. Only after I demanded to speak with the manager and offered physical evidence of the Chanel letter, was a refund offered to me. No other apologies nor accommodations were made. As a result of this incident, I warn other customers! BEWARE - not all items sold by the Real Real are genuine. As for me, I will NEVER AGAIN DO BUSINESS with this merchant.
I have been in love with these boots for several years now, but did not want to pay the full price tag of $1K. Real Real allowed me the luxury of owning something previously loved by another, at a great price. The boots were packaged carefully in beautiful packaging, quite quickly, I might add, and arrived as pictured, in good condition. I can't wait to wear them this fall with everything!
The ordering, paying and receiving purse was all very easy and purse in very good condition. I was very satisfied and leased with the whole process. I do have a question about the bottom of purse. I would have thought it would have had the little feet on it so bottom of purse wouldn't get damaged was I wrong cause mine did not have them?
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
