I purchases Alexis Bittar earrings, on the website, they were described as being in excellent condition. When they arrived one of the earring backs was missing. With Alexis Bittar earrings, they require a special back so I can't just replace it with any earring back. When I reached out to customer service, they never apologized for not sending out what was described, they just offered me a $12 site credit. I would never buy from them again because I feel the misrepresented the product, and sent out the earrings knowing there was no back. It said authenticated luxury consignment, Total bait and switch.
I recently purchased a Gucci bag, for my fiance from the Real Real. Not only was the bag stained upon arrival, but it looked worn. This was not described about the bag, prior to me purchasing it. Furthermore, I couldn't return it, but they also denied me putting it up for consignment because it was stained on the inside, when they sold it to me like this. I will NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN! My $400 is down the drain!
I have bought a bag online but when i received the item, the stripe is broken. I contact RealReal, the reply is following "At this time we're more than happy to accept the item for a complete refund and email you a prepaid return label free of charge. Or if you wish to keep the item, we can issue a $20 site credit to compensate." This look good but the problem is if i decide the do the return, i have to "try and obtain a refund please contact your local government/custom authorities." Which take time for the Buyer and sometime not sure will get the money. So either side is not good for the Buyer. So the RealReal should check their goods before been send to the customer. The end is i will keep the item because either of chose is not good, i will suggest either the Oversea Buyer to ask RealReal or RealReal check the goods before shipping.
Extra payments (outside of the total with taxes, shipping and duties) were asked of me after the items were shipped (even days after they arrived at my house). I payed more than twice.
I have shopped and consigned with TRR for several years now. Service is great and anytime I order something, the shopping is very quick. My recommendation to anyone who is new to shopping with TRR, is to always check the return section on each item as some are non-returnable and final sale.

UPS returned my packages without my consent. I called twice to report this. Then I started a return report.

Had a high end pairs of shoes and shipped them to the NJ receiving department. It was mismanaged from day one to the bitter end. They failed to properly document the receipt and status of the shoes. I called twice and was told tearing on one call and the heel was broken on a second call, why would I send in a pair of high end shoes with a broken heel. I asked to speak with a manager and no one will call me back, I received a email three months later stating they are shipping them back broken. They are still not properly documented online in my account. Zero customer service and beware that they might/could/will damage your goods in the back receiving warehouse in NJ. Take pictures of your items before you ship them with a date stamp because they don't hold employees accountable for mishandling items or breaking them.
I ordered something and accidentally put wrong city on my address. My order had already shipped by the time I realized the mistake. I contacted customer service and they made sure address was corrected and item rerouted to correct address.

Trying to locate a package. Your representative was most helpful. By evening February 11, My package was found. Unfortunately your coat did not fit. Today I spoke with an other representative also very helpful. I will be returning the coat. As soon as my credit is make in my account I will be purchasing another coat. Always aim to please the customer. The only small criticism is the wait time for customer phone calls.
I was not informed of the prices on items and specifically asked to be informed of price on my Chanel Vintage jacket. I was never informed, it was sold in a second because it was so underpriced. Was it bought internally? Not the way to do business... I was consigning in an other consignment store in NY and there was a designer in the store that will no longer consign with TRR fir the same reason. Do not want this to happen again!
The Real Real is proof that excellent deals exists. Yesterday, I had on a Theory Sweater and Rag and bone jeans. I paid $12.50 for both items. They are in excellent condition. The delivery is quick, the service is fantastic and how kind it is to deliver every item in a dust bag. I keep going back and finding more exceptional deals and the I am always thrilled with my orders. I doubt I will ever shop elsewhere. Thank goodness I was watching Hulu and The Real Real commercial aired. After delving into the site I was hooked. Thank you for making your company a win win for everyone!

Received my purchase, earlier than expected, it exceeded my expectations. The bag is in great condition, doesn't look as if it has been used., it also came with a dust bag and box., I have ordered several items from this site have never been disappointed.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
