Be careful when applying. If you don't fit their ideal look (code: race), they'll reject you and call it "plagiarism". Learn from my mistake—after spending several hours composing three 100% ORIGINAL articles required in the application, plus handing over all my personal info, including my license photo, they held me in suspense days after the promised "12 hours" only to reject me. After that, I did my due diligence and discovered dozens of similar complaints about this particular tutor site. There are several others out there, so take my advice and skip this one, for they'll be exposed and out of business soon.

To be honest. This Studypool is a scam. They are practising racism of the highest level. Africans, Kenyans, are the majority and are being mistreated. The commission for partner accounts are different with those of Kenyan profile. If they are genuinely minding their tutors, why favour the partner tutors? Why not add Kenya, with 90% of tutors coming from there as a partner. Why overcharge their students and later overcharge the tutors too for every question. Dear students, run to other sites like coursehero, Uvocorp and Essaypro as they mind the Kenyan tutors who happen to play a major role in the freelance industry.

Studypool is a racist company based on how it treats its tutors. Tutors from certain countries are charged higher commissions and cannot access high-paying tasks. The rating is not based on merit rather than one's country of origin. Modern racism at its best.

The best parts are determining your own workload, hours, and location. Additionally, you earn badges as you successfully complete student work upon them submitting feedback and the more badges you have, the more you are prioritized for future work. The downsides are that work is not guaranteed since all work is done through a bidding system. The more you bid, the more likely you will receive work. Another downside is that there are significant deduction fees per work that you complete: ranging from 20% at best if you help new students and around 30% for other students. The work environment is very independent and pretty secluded. Most interactions are with a mentor you are assigned to where you can ask questions.

There will be a team of moderators moderating. These moderator's KPI is to issue warnings. Therefore, they have been consistently issuing warnings no matter how much you prove that it is not your fault. Even if you have proven that it is not your fault, they will still insist that they are right by issuing the warning and always say that the decision is final and thank you for understanding. FYI warnings can result in the suspension of your account or deduction of your money. If you feel you are treated unfairly, there is no higher management to complain to. Nothing can be done but to only accept the fact that you are being bullied by this bunch of moderators. In short, they are a cocky, good-for-nothing bunch of moderators just messing with tutors in order to hit their KPI.

SCAM. They steal your money and ban you for no reason. I was a rising star and studypool partner and all my answers were submitted, I was waiting for my payments when I got a notification that my account has been banned. Active immediately. I did not have bad reviews. I completed all my assignments on time and I had a success rate of 85% with 5 stars. I had $150 in my balance and just as I was about to withdraw it, I got banned. That seems suspicious. This happened twice. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, EFFORT OR MONEY ON THIS SCAM!

After several months working here my experience has been very pleasant. Either you get chosen by the students or their support staff assigns certain students to help. When a student is new, their review has more value. The more badges you earn, this equals getting more and more assignments. My adivice: always be kind even for the upset students and also never bid for a last minute assignment unless you're over 100% confident that you would be able to address it. If not your rating will suffer badly, and most likely it would favor the student. To finish, it has a well established privacy policy, rating system is complex but fair, students pay very well and while others even leave awesome tips, and lastly, support is very kind so it is a very tutor friendly platform.

If a student wants to pay you less than you want, you can ask them for a higher price. Different tutors have different ranks based on customer feedback. It's extremely beneficial for students too. Whether they have an urgent or nonurgent question, there are tutors online ready to help them!

I was asked to take a knowledge quiz after my initial application was accepted. There were 3 questions, and all of them were answered according to the guidelines. One was mathematics and a simple and easy question which was answered correctly. I hold a Masters Degree and I have my own paper published. They rejected my answers and said they were not " up to the standard". I am pretty sure it was rejected by a bot. Anyways, do not bother applying to be a tutor. Its not worth your time.
