It was the mythical trifecta - cheap, fast, and good!
Checkout was smooth but payment page didn't clearly indicate that American Express wasn't accepted.
Issuance of the certificate was quick, despite needing to use the HTML verification method since my website sits behind CloudFlare. It was done before I finished my conversation with support.
Good. Easy.

Hello,
We are glad to assist with your SSL installation.
When attempting to decode and install your SSL, our team has discovered that your SSL is self signed certificate. When you purchase an SSL from someone like Verisign or Comodo, what you're paying for is the name brand. In addition to encrypting data, the SSL also serves as a way to indicate that a site is legitimate. When a certificate is not issued by a recognized SSL certificate source, the browser that's used to view the site will know.
Since one of the purposes of an SSL is to verify legitimacy of a business, many browsers will return an error message saying "This certificate is not from a recognized issuer" or something to that effect. As a self signed cert, it's effectively just as good as a recognized certificate for encrypting data, however, it is not an indication that a trusted 3rd party (an SSL issuer) thinks your business is legit and safe. The only way to get rid of the SSL error message is to have the certificate issued by a recognized issuer. We offer different types of SSL certificates.
We provide different SSL types such as Positive SSL, Comodo SSL, Wildcard SSL, Multidomain SSL, and EV SSL. The price details are below.
Positive SSL - $39.99/year
Comodo SSL - $99.99/year
Wildcard SSL - $119.99/year
Multidomain SSL - $79.99/year
EV SSL - $269.99/year
Please let us know which type of SSL would you wish to purchase and how many years would you want.
