A stranger contacted me and I was interested in his information but doubted if he was on the up-and-up. So for a dollar I was not able to see his name but I saw his location which was enough to convince me my fears were right. I do think the monthly fee is high for someone who wouldn't use this regularly but maybe Spokeo could add a lower tier of payments for people who need only limited access, I called them immediately afterward as instructed to cancel the trial, and the person who helped me was really nide an did not argue with me about my decision to stop, If I need to check a person's identity again I will use Spokeo.

So I didn't realize that they had charged me $24.95 today, after a 7 day free trial. Which is my fault, because I thought I canceled it and didn't. But I called them to get a refund, after not searching for anybody and being the same day that I was charged, and they only gave me a $9.98 refund. I could not find any information on their website at all and anything that I wanted to know about, I had to pay extra for. Also the $24.95 is supposedly for only a 100 searches it's not even for a month. HORRIBLE.

They promised that I would get the name of a number I was getting calls from if I paid. Once I paid, the only information they provided was the place (already known from the zip code) and the phone carrier they use (completely useless information).

I paid $95 for a 7 day trial, used it twice the day I singed up and made contact with the 2nd person I was looking for only to discover the first person had passed away. A week later I had a $29.95 charge on my CC, I contacted Spokeo and they only offerred an $11 credit, I very politely asked the agent if she could do anything for me and threataned to go nuclear on social media if she didn't, she put me on hold for a minute and came back with a full refund and I am THANKFULL that she did, but be careful of the policy and don't forget to cancel if you do the $.95 7 day deal!

I purchased the Spokeo 7-day access for $.95 and I failed to cancel my subscription, so today I was billed $29.95 for the month. I take responsibility for not knowing better and canceling the automatic renewal. Since I now have access for the month, I decided to do more searches and get my monies worth. Every search I did on either on my laptop or iPad had the same result, "500 Internal Server Error." I reached out to Spokeo via an online chat, Melissa (*******) suggested I change my web browser. I find it odd that my current web browser worked fine for the 7-day access period but now it doesn't work. I tried the Chrome web browser at Melissa's recommendation, and I had the same result. After I made mention to Melissa, I thought the Spokeo service was a scam, she refunded me $11.98. I received a 40 percent refund for a service that will not work on a billing cycle that is one day old. You got me this time Spokeo, but never again.

My main problem with Spokeo is twofold: the first being the fact that you must pay a subscription fee PLUS extra feed for any substantial information. The second reason being i dislike anyone who pushes you into giving a review the trick of a" pop-up" window that won't go away until you get that review to them. That is how I got on this site. I think this is a form of marketing blackmail.

This app saved me probably years of heartache and misery living with a two timing slimy b**** wife all you need is a phone number and you can pull up information about who your wife is f****** or you know multiple f****** as in my case. Read what it can and cannot do and you won't be disappointed. Plus do the 7 day trial.95 cents I think. Worth it.

This site led me to beeline they had found dating sites on my husband. Two in fact. Also two email & phone numbers. None was true. THERE WERE NO SOCIAL MEDIA SITES AT ALL WORTH HIS PROFILE! NONE, NOT ONE. The email was our nephew's & the phone numbers were his brother & his parents old number. Not even his. Not one thing they baited me with was true. Had me thinking my husband was being shady or unfaithful. When they didn't even have any of his correct information except his name., age, city &relatives. Some of those were ppl like his brothers baby mama. She's not even in any of our lives anymore. Kinda messed up. Baiting ppl to basically steal their money. They better be giving mine back!

I want to be able to purchase information as needed. I hate that getting any individual profile obligates one to a free trial and that cancelling that free trial means that one must subscribe the next time one tries get individual information. Eventually I found the information that I needed another way, though not without some hard work. I will never use Spokeo again, or at least not until it changes marketing and pricing.
On the positive note, the customer service representative was OUTSTANDING--very professional and personal--when I called Spokeo to deal with the incomplete transaction and the pending trial subscription that I did not want. I have seen other reviews saying how good the people are at Spokeo. It makes me feel that they are probably a good organization. I just cannot abide by the pricing model because it doesn't fit my needs as an occasional user.

Answer: Watch for the $20 charge at the end of the month. They say a person is out, then the charge comes a month later. Had to cancel my card and get new # to keep them out of my wallet.
Answer: Three alternatives: 1) Logon with you old Spokeo account and contact customer support. 2) If you can't remember your old logon, 2.1) try a google search to find Spokeo customer service link or telephone number. 2.2) Spokeo has notes on some reviews. Maybe they have included their support number or link? 3) Call Visa and ask them to kill the Spokeo charges to your Visa account.

They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.

Answer: Watch for the $20 charge at the end of the month. They say a person is out, then the charge comes a month later. Had to cancel my card and get new # to keep them out of my wallet.
