The service offered was easy to use along with shipping box and instructions Southtree supplied. Results were great with my only small issue was lack of updates from company. On web site and through email commination they stated updates on processing my media, but actual updates were very limited. I trusted they were doing the work so didn't follow up when I didn't receive routine updates. Overall took a tiresome task requiring special equipment and allowed me to enjoy the results.
A learning lesson for me: I sent tapes without previewing them first and had some damaged ones. Southtree marked each damaged one and digitized them for me. I suggest previewing all your media before sending to them to save cost.

Received our Southtree box today. The instructions are extremely simple, clear, and well designed. The personalized instruction booklet was excellent and in an easy to follow format. We have our box ready to head out tomorrow.

I had some 50-year-old reel-to-reel tapes that hadn't been played for 20 years or more. Southtree did a fabulous job of transferring them to CDs and a thumb-drive. I was surprised at how clear they all turned out! And the price was terrific. I wish I'd done this earlier!

Was great to see my old memories come back to life. My only complaint is three of my videos have no sound. I'm an electrical engineer and can't understand how the DVDs can have great video but no sound.

Love having all those old tapes on a thumb drive. It is plugged into our TV and we can watch whenever we want. Takes up WAY LESS space and easy to access.
I had several reel-to-reel audio tapes from the late 1960s or early 1970s that my father had made, including interviews with my grandfather who had been brought to this country from Bohemia in the 1890s. The results came back on a flash drive as I had ordered. It took about as much time as I expected from reading the web site. The audio was a little bit faint, but after all, those analog tapes were fifty years old. I managed to adjust the volume with Audacity. Based on my experience, I would certainly use Southtree again.
I recently sent five reel to reel tapes to have downloaded. These were interviews with Eleanor Roosevelt, Sen. John Kennedy, Hubert Humphrey and two others by my dad, H. P. Sconce, in 1959 for his radio program, Christian Celebrity Tyme. These tapes and over 300 more have been stored under my bed for years. I received a tiny thumb drive and the interviews were perfect. Thank you.
I had 26 old VHS tapes transferred to DVD and they were awesome! Great quality and very reasonable price.
I am so happy we decided to have our photos scanned and loaded on a thumb drive. I sent in 500 photos and I had pictures of my grandparents from the 1940's and they turned out so well. I am now going to send in our VHS movies. Highly recommend this company

Quality Job, these films are 60 - 70 years old and now I can sit with the Family and show memories in the comfort of my home, no projector, screen. And now a have something to pass down to grandchildren.
Got a thumb drive of 15 VHS tapes back much quicker than expected. That was great. The quality wasn't great but I'm sure that had more to do with the 25-30 year old tapes. It would have been nice if someone would have contacted me to see if I really wanted old television shows mixed in with children's birthdays and Christmas'. They clearly were not intended to be included but we had a few miss marked tapes.
Two recent orders to Southtree each had over five hours of 8mm and hours of compact VHS tapes now very compactly returned on two thumb drives... that were easily shared with family and friends on my own cloud locations. Great service at a total cost to me far less than buying equipment to do this and spending numerous hours of my time.

Rather than charging by length, which would make the process very costly for most tapes as they tend to be longer, our process is determined by the number of items you are sending to us. Across the board, whether it is 5 minutes or 5 hours the size of your order will be determined by how many items you would like to send us to be processed!
