On Friday April 11th, I tried to select seats for my return flights on the AA app and then on AA. Com and could not see my tickets or a reservation. I tried calling Skyluxe service several times, but no one answered after a hold. I then emailed Skyluxe service and explained the problem. Two different service agents responded over night, and said a technical problem with AA was
Preventing seat assignments on my Barcelona to Philadelphia flight. I then called AA and was told by an agent there were no BC seats are available on that flight. I then called Makoko who confirmed that no BC seats were available and helped me rebook.
Makoko did not say that I would be using my service contract and I did not exoect that to be the case as I was not making a change for my own pleasure. It was SkyLuxe that offered and booked me on the return flights after AA changed my original flights back in February. I had to do the exchange yesterday to get a flight home at all.
It was only today that I was told by Mallory that my service contract (for which I paid over $1000 would be used for this exchange). I had to pay over $1000 for the service contract, so by charging me for this exchange, which was only needed because SkyLuxe sold me a flight that had no BC seats, is patently unfair and outrageous. This is the second large issue I have had with this round trip ticket.
While Makoko and Mallory secured an alternative flight, and were very professional, this SkyLuxe practice of using up my service contract for this exchange is completely unacceptable given these circumstances.
