This site is total bull sh*t. I bought 60 bids and was able to get some free bids with promo codes and was well over 100. As other stated, there is no way you can win without investing hundreds of dollars into buying bids. You definitely see the same names winning over and over again. They said they would refund your money for the bids you don't use. I closed my account with 41 bids and they refunded me 1/7 the amount that I should have been. Don't waste your time!
After being on the site a few days and watching the results (check out the close auctions) I came to find certain folks seem to have incredible luck. One for example goes by the screen name IMNEVERGOINGTOSTOP. That seems appropriate as it appears he has incredible luck. The screen name seemed to be popping up alot and when I checked I found he had started off winning 120 bid paks and then moved on to 240s and 480s. That seems like a good strategy to build up your bids, but when I saw what he paid and how many bids he used I was amazed. An inside trader on Wall Street could not have hoped for as good a results. All of his winning bids were among the very lowest on record and only a fraction of what the BidPaks were typically going for.
If he's not an insider of some sort he should be in Vegas not on a penny auction site.
It is a total RIP OFF... spent $180 got nothing. Have to be using fake bids why would someone spend over $1,000 to get a $399 item? Look at the closed auctions something is fishy here.
You would be better off just throwing your money out the window!
The site does not explain what your actual costs are so if you are the "winning bidder" you have no idea how much it is actually going to cost you in the end.
I just got off the phone with their "customer service" person and she tried to say everything was explained on the website. This is a blatant lie! The only way you will see what the actual costs are would be if you added an auction into your "watch list " and then you can see... well... not really... because you are not seeing the "shipping costs" or anything else they add in.
Stick with eBay!
Okay so I heard on espn that they were giving away free bids, so i said hey why not try it! I watched how skoreit worked for a while and used some of the free bids. Well I actually won a $50 gift card to home depot! I went on to pay for it and everything was confirmed. I was feeling lucky so I used my wife's phone and got some more free bids (figuring that I'm not going to spend any money until I actually receive my gift card). Well lucky must be my middle name because I won a $25 Wal-Mart car! Again I used my same bank card to pay for that one, thinking I this is a scam I'm not giving them more then one bank card.
A few weeks have gone by and I have not received anything so I called. They said because I had more then one account I'm not getting anything! It clearly states in the rules that
"You may not register for more than one account on SkoreIt.com." no where in the rules does it say one per household.
So my thoughts on skoreit, its much like our government you put all this time and money into it and they find ways to scam you out of what's rightfully yours!
So I've read a lot of posts so far on Scoreit.com. Only reason for me to be on these forms is to find out if anyone else understand why it takes so long for them to ship out auctions that were won. I'll get in to that in a bit, because I also noticed few other things that needs to be discussed. There are 3 major things I've noticed over all the posts I've read and I just want to help by shedding some light on the subject "Objectively" because most post have a lot of subjective responses.
01) Shipping Costs. Few users say there other sites that have lower shipping cost and items like an iPod Shuffle ships for free off of Apple.com or Ebay costs 11.50 on Skoreit.com And that is true, but you can also choose to do USPS for around $4. UPS charges a lot and I don't see it to be Skoreit.com's fault. Take in to account the fact they have to pay for shipping of the item to arrive at their warehouse on items that are not free, they have to spend money on packaging the items to ship to you and the cost of shipping with UPS is just that much. I send CDs and DVDs to clients all the time from DC to NJ using UPS and it cost $10.00 going ground… and I pay another $1 or so for packaging. (I'm a photographer by the way… and have to ship a lot of DVDs to clients for review and archiving).
02) ESPN / Mike & Mike: I don't blame Mike and Mike for anything. They are just announcing ads that are written for them with some acting on their part. I can blame ESPN for not be responsible for doing their research on advertiser that come to them. Yet I'm pretty sure they have done their research and didn't find anything wrong. So please don't blame Mike & Mike… they are doing what their bosses put on their table. Write a letter to ESPN if you feel you have been scammed.
03) Is it a Scam?: A lot of people feel there are users that bid so heavily on items that can be bought for a lot less or lot less for the amount of bids they used. I'm not going to get into how each bids cost. Mainly because you have to understand there are a lot of stupid people out there that can't do their math properly… and also I was a chronic gambler in my past and I can tell you a lot of time when you are down you will gamble more to get back to even…. So maybe these "power users" are just down so much that they can't help trying to bid heavily to get back out.
Here is my experience with skoreit.com. I personally have 2 screen names. I've put in $1,100. I've won bid packs, gift cards, apple laptop, a camera and an apple tv. If were to sell all my winnings I would be up $300, but I don't plan on selling any of it, because I only bid on things I wanted. I stayed away from power users, because I rather waste my bids on things and times I know I can win with ease. I don't get emotional and bid on things like laptops unless I know many people have already bid enough and there are no more bid agents left (it took me 600 bids to win the laptop = $360 in bids and $128 of the auction plus $11 for shipping).
I just don't' understand why it is taking so long for the items to ship, but other than that I have no problem with this site, because I try to bid smart. My suggestions:
01) Don't bid on more than one auction at a time. Bid on things you really want to lose you bids on. People keep bidding on 3-4 things a time, which will surely make you lose your bids quicker.
02) Do your research on when certain items end, what price they end at, how many bids it took for the item to end and so on.
03) Stay away from aggressive bidders. If they win … oh well… at least you didn't lose your shirts in the process.
04) Bid on smaller items… try to win some bid paks will help you. Bid on the smaller bid packs at the right time, so you can get it for cheap.
05) Don't go in believing you can win something the same day you start. Be committed to stay longer and do research before you bid.
06) Only start bidding after you know done the 5 things above.
These are the first things I came up with after losing my first 50 bids… and followed it to a T …. Now I'm happy with I've won with these rules. Not sure if this site is a scam, but I don't care since i've won what I wanted. For people that haven't won… maybe you should try to come up with your own rules or use mine and maybe you will come to see that it maybe a scam, but you won't care since you've won.
Good luck everyone… I hope my LONG post helps.
The website needs to get rid of power or shill bidders to make it a fair playing field for everyone. The website also says they, in most cases they just try to make a little profit or break even, horse####. When a 800.00 dollar hdtv sells for 80.00 thats 8000 bids@. 60 cents a bid which equals FOUR THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS! Less the cost of the tv, 800.00 equals a profit of FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS! Just a bit more than a ( LITTLE!) profit or breaking even. ALL i can say after visiting this website after hearing the glowing endorsement from mike and mike on ESPN is. I wonder. HOW MUCH STOCK, GIFTS OR MONETARY KICKBACK ARE THOSE TWO GETTING? IN summation PUBLIC STEER CLEAR of this fixed bidding website. ONE LAST THOUGHT! WONDER HOW MANY OF THE ITEMS WON WERE WON BY THE INHOUSE BIDDER? HHHMMMMMMMMMM, probably quite a few.
UNLIKE OTHER PEOPLE, I UNDERSTAND THAT NOBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WILL SELL SOMETHING FOR CHEAPER THAN WHAT THEY PAID FOR IT. PROFIT IS THE NAME OF THE GAME. I MUST SAY THAT YOU ARE DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO WIN EVERY BID BUT IF YOUR SMART YOU CAN GET SOMETHING AT A DECENT PRICE.
This post is especially for the person with the long post.
Your rules maybe grand in fact it's almost like the response I received from my email sent out earlier. That's fine but though it works for you it may not work for others. As far as shipping goes, I work in sales and shipping is never an issue with efficient reputable companies unless stock itself is an issue. It may be that the reason shipping takes so long is that the items won ARE NOT ON HAND when won. It never should be because of company problems. A good, reputable company will get products shipped promptly and take care of the customer so if shipping is a problem then that's not a good thing. There is no reason not to receive your goods within 7 days. NONE, unless stocking is an issue and if they are auctioning products off that are NOT on hand and ready to go. That's a problem.
My main concern is this. Having watched many many auctions I've discovered the real greed here. I'm all for making money but this is outrageous.
Let's look at just a few past auctions:
Apple Macbook 11.6 laptop retail $999.99 sold to a winning bidder who used 1,356.00 bids so that person paid roughly $896.95 dollars BUT the real kicker is that skoreit go $3,665.34 in bids and money.
Apple IPAD 16GB retailing for $499.00 went to a winning bidder for $232.94 BUT skoreit collected $6,711.39... not bad profit HUH?
Here's a person that played right into skoreit's good will... A $50.00 gift card a bidder won for 4.96 - good deal huh? - Not really - he used 103 bids to get it so in the end it cost him $69.34 for a 50 gift card and he still has to wait and pay shipping costs to get it. By the way... skoreit score big here to collecting over $313.00 for that card.
The list goes on and on... these are just 'rare' happenin's... it is a fairly regular thing.
And no where on the site does it give you the total collection amount for an item... you can find it if you dig in history and want to do a bit of math but you shouldn't have to.
There is something here... it's not just a SIMPLE auction site...
Beware... if you like playing the slot machines you'll probably like this too because it's just about the same thing. Put you money in and pull the lever. If the 7's all align just right you might win. The house is hoping a ton of people put money in and fill that coin bin.
This is a gambling site, pure and simple. After losing $100 on buying bids where I did not win the auction, I simply lost all my money. In a normal auction, you don't pay unless are the high bidder. With skoreit you pay everytime you place a bid at. 60 per bid, and since items up for auction only increase by. 01 each time, an item that sells for $10.00 actually has 1000 bidders or $600! And if you don't win, you just lost all your money. There is tremendous risk involved. It's gambling. An equitable business transaction involves exchange of goods or services for money spent. However, when you spend money, in hopes that you might win, that is not a business transaction, it's gambling! If you like to gamble, then you'll enjoy this site. However, it is a little deceitful to advertise this as anything other than Gambling. I too heard about Skoreit on ESPN's Mike & Mike, which gave it a bit of credibility in my book. I hope they would pull their endorsement from this website
Please read all of the reviews before spending any money or time on Skoreit.com. It is a complete waste of time and money. I found out the hard way and I regret ever signing up. The company "lures you in" by giving you free bids, which are no where near enough to win anything. I always thought that I could win an auction, but never did. I am very frustrated and mad that I ever signed up and registered for skoreit.com.
I too heard about this site on ESPN from Mike and Mike and thought with them promoting it, it must be pretty credible. I do not beleive it's a scam, you can actually win items for a great price but it's not easy and in the end you could end up spending hundreds of dollars and win nothing, To me that's not a user friendly website. I was interested in the Invicta watches they had for auction, they said retail price on these watches was between 395.00 and 495.00. Well when i looked them up i found i could purchase these watches for 60 bucks on other sites, which really bothered me. Looks like alot of other people realized they are cheap watches too cause they never get bid up too high, thank god. For the Designers and Creaters or SKOREIT.COM, I think the site is Ingenius. They are making a killing which is another example of Abusive capitolist behavior to exploit the american people. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that if a 500 dollar ipad bids for bewteen 35 and 55 dollars with penny bids, they are making 2000 to 3000 profit on it, but the ultimate winning items are the bid packages themselves which cost them nothing. As we speak a 240 bid package just went for 8.33, which on average, means they made around 700 bucks on that. What a joke. I wouldn't reccommend this site cause the only winners are the people who own and created the site.
You have to THINK about it to understand exactly how it works. Look beyond the "AMAZING" sell prices and think about how many people bid on an item and what happens to the bid money of the people who lose, which yes could be you. However if you get a bit lucky and watch history of certain items you can get a steal. For example a 13 disc P90X DVD set for $6.82.
Yes people probably win and yes they might buy something cheap. The problem I have is very few people actually do the MATH. If a $50 gift card sells for $3, that means there were 300 bids, at about. 60 apiece. Skoreit MADE $180 minus what they paid for the card! OUCH! Now the bigger problem for Mike and Mike is that when they give examples they say, "Winning bidder spent $2.40 or whatever. That is a FLAT OUT LIE. The Winning bidder paid $2.40 PLUS the 100 or so bids at. 60 each so they actually spent $62.40 (plus shipping.) DO NOT GET HOOKED ON THIS SITE!
Have read all of the defenses of this site - none are verifiable - you'll end up wasting your money with no guarantees that you'll ever win - avoid like the plague - I'm from Vegas and have seen Casinos pay people back better than this garbage site - am calling in on Mike and Mike until they stop endorsing.
Skoreit is like the stock market... don't get into it unless you're willing to really dive into it without regret. Dont put in money if youre not willing to lose it. I, personally, play on skoreit a lot and have even hit the cap of 12 wins per 28 days (yes, they cap how much you can win to give others a shot). I have put in about $300+ all together, but with the auctions I've won, I've saved around $500+ (my winnings include an IPad for $34 total including shipping and cost of bids used to win it, a new gen IPod Nano for $15 total with shipping and bids, plus a flip camcorder and various gift cards and precious metals). For one, it is not a scam or a rip off. People like to just call it that because they either don't understand the concept or are sore losers. It is accredited by the Better Business Bureau with an A- rating (according the BBB, the only reason it's A- is that it hasn't been around for very long). Yes, there are power bidders, but power bidders do not equal shill bidders. People who complain about using bid agents and say they use up all your bids, don't know how to use them with proper strategies. Are penny auctions, in general, for everyone? No, they aren't. But this particular one definitely isn't a scam. I'll leave this link as further argument against all the skoreit naysays http://pennyburners.com/community/showthread.php?t=857
DO NOT repeat DO NOT get hooked like I did, I too heard the ad on ESPN and heard Mike & Mike talking about it. So I signed up got only 5 free bids instead of the 10 promised by using ESPN ( cust. Serv just now sent me a new code so I'll see if that gives me the other 5 bids) The first day I bought the $20 bid pack figuring 30 bids for $20 was ok. I tried at lunch time (not a good time as there are many more people on then) but I tried spent about 20 min and about 1/2 my bids when I ended up winning a $25 Visa card for less than $3.00 (including shipping). I was like wow this is cool, well about $100 later I haven't won anything, I've tried their suggestions of watch the time of day you play. Nothing. I am thinking that since I signed up and won on the same day that this is a scam they hook you by letting you win on the day you sign up but then again my own fault you know the saying "Too good to be true usually is"... Learned my lesson hopefully you will too and if you have won on the site congrads to you...
Thanks
T.
Complete Rip Off!
I am surprized that Mike & Mike actually endorsed this Auction.
You'll save more by actually buying an iPad from Apple.com than from SkorIt!
AVOID THIS SITE BY ALL MEANS
Please avoid this site at all costs. As noted by an earlier poster, they are literaly stealing your money. I'm usually not the type of person to down a website without it seriously being a terrible site. SkoreIt.com has been advertising on ESPN radio so I decided to try it and got several free bids using promo codes. However, once I started bidding I came to find out that individuals without a significant financial backing had no chance in winning. After being on the site for ONLY 3 days I could completely recognize who the power bidders were and they did not lose. I even tried small auctions for gift cards, but still was unable to win anything. I lost $30 to the site and it feels like I was robbed by a casino. Take my advice and save your money. You won't be winning anything on that site.
Do not use skoreit. It is a major ripoff as they use bid agents to make you use
Up all your bids. These bid agents will use up to 1200 bids to win a bid package
Worth 240 bids. Complete ripoff, stay away from it
Answer: Why do the same people criticize people for low grades are these employee's or paid people the site sounds like cow pies.
