A star is too much!
June 10, 2011

A star is too much!
This site is a total ripoff. You buy packs of bids. So for $19.95 you get 30 bids. And then you have to square off vs. "bid agents" and the occasional manuel bid. Every time you think you're closing in on the final price, a bid agent kicks in.
If you want to win by using bid agent, you better be ready to arm the agent with a ton of bids. But even that is tough. How do know what price to tell the bid agent to start bidding? You can't determine what the end price ballpark is going to be!
Even if you're willing to pay more for a product, it's difficult to set that bottom price in the bid agent. I might want to pay $15 and tell the bid agent to start competing at $10... but how do I know the auction isn't going to close at $7?
THAT'S how profitable this is for the site. They are more interested in making you spend bids than raising the actual end price. That's the proof right there.
I saw people spend as much as 600 bids to win an item.
How do we know these "bid agents" are real people?
And half the time, people are competing to win "bid packs" of 240 or 480 bids just so they can build up a stack of bids to go get real products.
Folks... there are casinos and horse tracks that will give you a better return on a bet AND they're regulated.
I figured I'd try it out... I should have the word "SUCKER" written on my forehead with indelible marker.

Alright, I watch alot of sports and alot of espn. That is where I heard about skoreit.com. At first I was thinking that it might be pretty cool. 15 free bids from promos lets do this. I made 4 different accounts and had no chance to even win anything. So I started looking around on the site. I found that alot of the same people win alot of the same prizes. Now skoreit says that no one associated with its family, friends, employees, etc are aloud to be part of it. BULL****. I'm going to list a couple examples.

All of the bidpaks seem like a good idea. But they are the worst. They don't cost a dime to the website and they get a ton of bids.

But, tell me how this sounds.
480 bid pak-
GUY NAMED SHORTFUNNY bids on this 3605 times. Recall you are only winning 480 bids. This units retail is 292.00. His cost of this total was 1828. 52. Tell me that's not internal.

IMNUTSREALLY bids on a American express gift card 6461 times.
Retail 1000. 00
Cost to him 3405. 08
NOT INTERNAL?

That's just a couple of examples. This site is nothing but a scam to get people to buy bids and have there guys outbid at all cost.

Look it up guys.

Thanks for reading.

Hmm I just noticed, when they list upcoming auctions they have a start time and earliest end time, usually around 3 hours later. How the help can they predict how much minimum an auction will end, unless its a scam and they are hiding the fact that they use company robots to keep the auctions going and by bidding them up artificially for the first couple hours. Anyway this is a small site trying to lure people with Hugh end prizes, but they only attract 2400 people per day. I would try a legitimately sure like bigdeal or gopenny

This site rocks, I have won numerous auctions. Have lost bids on stuff that I didn't win but that's part of the process. Happy bidding to all :)

I bid on a $50 gift card for Best Buy and won it, but when I received the card it would not work. I was told by Best Buy that the card had not been activated and therefore useless. They told me to return it to the merchant where I purchases the card. I called Skoreit customer service and they told me to ship the card back and they would replace it. Well, it's been a couple of months since then and no new card. Thanks for wasing my time and money Skoreit.

The learning curve is far to expensive and time consuming. You don't have to be a genius to figure out you need to win bid paks in order to compete for an actual product and even then an auto bidder seems to always have more bids than you. Skoreit stole about $300 from me and I won $58 worth of golf balls. Lesson learned, I'll never go back

Some guy just spent 1033 bids to win a 240 bid pack. (Auction# *******) Looking at their profile they have won $183 worth of products and have spent $696 worth of bids. How does that make any sense. Either an insider or just plain dumb?

I am now convinced that Skoreit is using shills to drive up the bids. I just watched someone named rosegracie spend 16 bids & $1.60 and 20 bids & $6.08 to win an auction for 15 bids. At about $. 60 a bid you are either stupid or a shill.

I heard about skoreit.com on Mike & Mike and thus far have purchased 120 bids for $75 and 60 bids for $38. Twice I have won bid packs, a 60 bid pack and a 15 bid pack. If you don't know, there are two ways to bid. One, you can manually place a bid by clicking a button whenever you choose - this is called a 'single bid'. The other way is to set up something called a 'bid agent' where you set the parameters for what dollar amount at which to enter the bidding, what amount at which to quit bidding, the maximum number of bids to place, and with what number of seconds remaining you'd like the system to automatically place your bids for you (i. E. 5 seconds left, 10 seconds left, anytime, etc.) Over the past several weeks I have probably put in something like a dozen hours just watching and, at times, bidding on various prizes. I have yet to witness anyone using the manual process of bidding (single bid) win an auction. I'm not saying it never happens, just that I haven't seen it yet - EVER. Every auction I've watched to the end (including the two I've won) were won by people using the automated bid agent.

The problem with the site for regular users like myself are the power users, who set up these automated bid agents and continue to bid and bid and bid as if bids grew on trees. Actually, what they do is bid on bid packs (bid packs ranging anywhere from 15 bids to 480 bids). Sometimes they win these bid packs by placing only a small fraction of the size of the bid pack (i. E. 87 bids to win a 240 bid pack), other times they over bid, but for these power users, overbidding once in a while is okay, because so many times they win with just a few bids (i. E. 20 bids to win a 120 bid pack).

Despite my initial optimism that I could create a strategy, study how auctions work, what times they tend to go for lower number of bids, study other users, etc, I have now relegated myself to the fact that unless I plan on making a 'business' out of it, there's no point in trying to compete with these power users who are willing to bid two, three, even four times the number of bids in a given bid pack. For example, one user I was competing with tonight had won two 120 bid packs for 63 and 72 bids respectively. That's 240 bids at the cost of 135 bids for a net of 105 bids gained. However, he had previously place 187 bids on a 120 bid pack as well for a loss of 67 bids. In the end he's still ahead even though he over spends from time to time. The point is, these power users are willing to overspend every time, and if you're not, then you have no chance. I've seen people place 33 bids just to win a 15 bid pack, then win a 60 bid pack with just 7 bids. And these power users almost always make their profile partially public so that you can see how many bid packs they've recently won as a tactic to scare off other bidders. I mean why would you go into a bidding war with somebody who has recently won a combined 975 bids on 410 bids placed. That person is obviously locked and loaded and ready to go the distance should you dare to even think about over bidding in a bidding war with them.

In the end, this site is designed for power users who primarily bid on bid packs, then parlay them into more bid packs, stocking up bids to overbid for something they really want like an iPad or MacBook. If you decide though that you want to still dance with these established power users, you need to win the bid packs, that is key. But don't be fooled when you see that these power users are winning 120 bids on just 23 bids placed. The fact of the matter is that had you gone toe to toe with them on said auction, they most likely would have spent and spent and spent to outbid you even if took placing 300 bids just to win the auction for 120 bids. Hence the problem with this site.

This sight is simply a gambling sight with the risk completely on the participant. I feel bad that people are being duped into this with free bids, and many may, and will spend more money (that they may or may not have) to try and win something. It is very important for a buyer to beware, but shame on the advertisers who promote high risk products such as Skoreit. Dan Patrick has lost my respect. His integrity should follow through from top to bottom. He obviously is in it for the bucks, and cares nothing for his listeners, of which many will be hurt by his endorsement.

I have been to a few online auction sites and have seen first hand what can happen to them when people win big items. One of the main reasons shipping takes so long is that the site wants to make sure that your payment for the item will process at the bank so there not loosing monies. Think about it, if you were going to sell a car to a third party wouldn't you want to make sure the check cleared the bank before you handed over the title? Same logic in this case. Bidders win items and receive them then turn around and call up the bank and void the charges. The site is out the cost of the item and the item itself. It makes good sense to have a waiting period for items over $50 so they don't loose money. As for bidpacks they give them out because they don't loose any money on them because they can make them all day long for free. Just my two cents.

I am a disabled physician. I trred this site as I heard it on Mike and Mike in the morning as others did. At first I spent a few dollars. But let me tell you-yes like all the other negative comments there are auto bidders that are suspicious! I have won auctions--TRUE. Bottom line its LUCK! You can have a stragedy--but it all goes to hell when someone signs on and bids another 240 bids for something. An I Pad 16 Gigabyte soled for 74.00 dollars! Now do the Math. That was 7400 bids times about 63 cents a bid.! Four thousand two huindred dollars. These auction sites a purely gambling. The items I have received are legitimate. But there are so many people out there that resell what they win on ebay. Its aboiut timing and luck. If you can sit all DAY AND WATCH SOMETHING--YES YOU CAN WIN. Setting up an auto bid is purely a gamble! When I look back---I have lost almost three Grand and really did not need the stuff I won. Truly! Bottom and final line is this. Go watch and wait for a sale at a department store---you willo be less frustrated and less tempted and will be guaranteed to get the item. Not a gamble and a Loss. I think these sites all should be removed from the internet--period. I am Guilty of being depressed after major spinal surgery(and feel stupid as a Physicain having lost that much). But if my story can save anyone heartache, and their hard earned money, then I at least am a truthfull fool. Stay away from this site! Go to wallmart or target, or best buy. Thanks.

UNLESS YOU USE THIS SITE AS YOUR SOURCE OF INCOME (RE-SELLING), STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY!. I LOST $20 AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK. NOT BECAUSE I DIDN'T WIN THE ITEMS I BID ON, BUT BECAUSE IT BECAME APPARENT TO ME THAT THE ODDS OF WINNING A BID ARE SO MINIMAL, IT'S NOT WORTH THE GAMBLE.

I've won 5 gift cards on SkoreIt, but still recommend that NO ONE visit or use this site unless they are VERY careful.

This site will rob you blind if you don't study the strategy very, very carefully. Even then it's still difficult to win. There's WAY to many powerbidders out there that have turned it into a business. They overpay here and underpay there. I don't think there's inside bidders, I just think most people are forgetting that they constantly have bid packs up for bid. If someone gets a 480 bid pack and uses 100 bids to get it, they are 380 bids ahead. If they keep doing that with bid packs plus invest money, next thing you know the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. If you notice, most of the powerbidders are the ones also bidding up the bid packs as well... so then they amass tons of bids and win practically anything they want.

I won about 6 of the $50 gift cards and a couple $15 Subway cards. I learned after wasting $400 that you cannot win the big stuff very easy (at all), even if you utilize sound strategy.

Ultimately, it's gambling and you have better odds playing at an online casino than at SkoreIt.

My BIGGEST frustration is that it's been 10 days since I won 3 different $50 gift cards and they haven't shipped yet... but I've already paid for them and the shipping/handling. They sent out Subway cards immediately after I won but held onto these 3. Tells me they are bidding out items they haven't even purchased yet... that is NOT a good sign. Aside from being a crapshoot at best to win, they don't even have the prizes in hand that they are getting tons of money for. That's BAD business.

Im also a player in skoreit. My husband tried it first and he lost approximately $188 for buying (2) 120 bids n (1) 60 bids without winning a single item. He was so furious and said the site is scam. Then I observed the site and tried to develop a strategy and opened a new account. I started with small items and won 3 items in a day. I was not aware that they have a limit of 3 items a day and 12 items a month until I won my first item. After winning 12 items all in all I ended up having $180 gain. My advise is study your opponent and timing is a really big factor.

I've been reading the negative posts about this website and have a few things to add. First off, I have been home on disability for the last 3 months so I had time to kill and really took my time to watch and learn. I see many many people bid and bid with no success and believe they see it as a scam. I personally have spent about $500 but have won about $950, primarily in gift cards.
As for the power bidders, they seem to be doing it as some sort of business so that if they overspend on an item one time, they make up for it on another time. My advise is take your time to learn their screan names and avoid them. Let them take what they want to bid forever on and don't compete with them.
The last thing I want to say is about the comments "Why would someone pay $100 in bids to win a $50 item" First off, I don't think they went into it thinking they were going to spend $100. Next, the only thing worse than spending $100 on a $50 item is spending $99 and not getting it. This drives some people to go crazy and over spend.
It does not appear to be a scam, but if you are not careful you could easily lose a lot.

I am a player on skoreit.com. I actually right now can't bid because of the 12 wins in 28 days policy that they do have. It is possible to win on skoreit you just have to have a strategy and stick with it. Also, you must be willing to take a loss on something you invest a lot of bids into. I have won things where i have placed only 1 bid on something and i have placed 50 bids on something and had to get out. IT IS GAMBLING, however you want to look at it. My problem with the website is their shipping... some orders are sent out in one day... and then when the order is a $500 watch you won on $10 total dollars... shipping and everything included... they take up to 12 days to process it and get it shipped off... my question is are they placing auctions of things they don't have in stock?... wouldnt that be considered false adverstisement?

This is a decent site and not a scam, but I haven't had a good experience overall. I ordered an item on 12/5 and it still says "processing" two weeks later. Starting to wonder if I'll ever get my item. Stay far far away.

I have never really reviewed a website before, but I tried skoreit and felt pretty strongly that this site is just a complete waste of time and money. The only thing that I am sore about is that I didn't come up with the concept first! It's ungodly how much money they are making selling iPads and iPod touches. I read the guidelines and started with 60 bids plus some promo bids and couldn't even pull off a $15 Subway gift card. In the end, I wish I would have spent my $30 some odd dollars at the casino. I might have had better odds.
