I have developed websites for more than 20 years and have hosted with numerous companies. Most of them have significantly downgraded the level of customer support they provide, but Siteground's support only gets better. Let me tell you why I say this:
1) I work in Joomla. It's not popular anymore, but they still host Joomla sites and they know the platform. I don't need help often, but when I do I need an expert. The support techs at Siteground are experts and they have never let me down.
2) They are accessible! I can actually be in a live chat with a real person or have a support tech on the phone in just a few minutes. And when I reach them, they speak perfect English.
3) They simply understand the problem and provide solutions for me to resolve it.
I'm too busy to write reviews, but I want to give Siteground a big thumbs-up for consistently being the best web hosting company I have ever used.

I have been a happy Siteground customer since 2016, and was VERY surprised (not to say annoyed) to learn today that a hosting plan is required to access DNS management services. This is true even if you don't actually host with them, and use them only as a domain registrar.
There is LITERALLY NO WAY to contact this provider unless and until you pay for hosting...even if you have other products with them. Very poor form to make customer service an upsell embedded in a services some customers have no need for.
Some basic level of service should be available to EVERY paying customer, and if they want people to pay for additonal customer support, then allow them to pay JUST for that. Don't embed it in hosting they may neither need nor want.

The domain DNS zone that you mention is indeed one of the default services that all SiteGround customers receive as part of their Site Tools when they activate an account. DNS is just one of the many essential hosting features that are included for free with all our plans, along with SSL, CDN, daily backups, email services, spam protection, etc. DNS management has always been included in our hosting services.
The domain can also be managed on its own if you no longer require hosting. Users have complete control over their domain admin details, privacy settings, billing information, and also name servers, so they may point them to an active hosting account/DNS management tool at any time if needed (this does not have to be with SiteGround). In such scenarios, we do not impose any restrictions or limitations, and users are free to connect their SiteGround-registered domain to another host or even a free third-party DNS provider by simply entering their name server records.
Our support team is available 24/7 and ready to assist with such requests as well. All of our clients have access to all 3 support channels regardless of whether they are using a hosting account or just a domain name.
For any domain-related questions, you would need to visit the Help Center page in your Client Area and select "Domain" from the list of categories. Most of the categories are related to websites and we would require you to specify the exact site in your inquiry. Hence, the domain category is the appropriate one for clients who only manage domain names with us.

I've had a couple instances for contacting tech support with SiteGround, both pre-sale and after becoming a customer and their response time in chat is fast (unlike my former BlueHost service) and very knowledgeable. I don't get migrated to a higher-level tech. They just have the answers and solve the issue or politely educate me on what I was not doing correctly so I know how to resolve it.
They meet customers where their knowledge is at, without slowing the resolution down by over explaining or under explaining.

I always like to think i'm tech saavy. That is until we start talking about DNS, MX; etc. Anytime I have tried to troubleshoot on my own, I confuse myself even further. Lol But when I chat with a SiteGround rep, they always take me step-by-step and literally explain the whys and everything. I can't honestly say that I remember everything all of the time, but I will say that I have never left a chat session with an unresolved issue. I'm a huge advocate for great customer service and SiteGround has been great so far! Please continue the great work.

Their support is very helpful and quick, the services they build, including hosting tools, WordPress plugins and more are simply amazing.
Not the cheapest on the market, but worth it.
The websites I host here are very slow. In order to speed them up I have to do all kinds of adjustments. I do not have these problems with other providers. I have a feeling that too many sites are hosted on the same server - it's getting slower every week!

These guys provide excellent customer support, which is the most important for non-developer clients. The hosting plans and UI are top-notch as well.
I have been with Siteground.com for years. I have about 20 sites with them, and whenever i have a technical issue, they get right on it and help me resolve the issue quick!
Vladislav was the customer service representative that helped with my tech support and questions about their product. His answers were timely, helpful and understanding.
SiteGround customer support is fantastic! The rep was knowledgeable, helpful and resolved my issue very quickly. After being a Bluehost customer for 3 years and dealing with really poor customer service, I decided to finally make the switch to SiteGround. I'm so glad I did and only wish I had moved everything over sooner.
I recently moved from InMotion hosting, which had pretty okay customer service. I moved because I wanted faster hosting, and I was told Siteground could deliver that and more. They weren't wrong! I needed their help with the migration more than I expected and after plenty of support calls and chats, they keep helping me out. I feel like I'm getting a full on web degree with all of the help they're giving me. I'm looking forward to working with them and maybe moving another website over in the future.
The support I get with Siteground is why I recommend all of my clients to move their hosting accounts here. It's not the least expensive hosting, but the easy access to multiple ways of contact and the knowledge of the staff make it a great value. You've saved my sanity multiple times.

Siteground's hosting is way faster than other hosting providers, including Bluehost, Hostinger, and others. In addition, their customer service is excellent. I've always been able to get on a chat with an agent in less than a minute's wait. In addition, their pricing is quite good--compared to Bluehost, you get more than triple the speed for just about the same price. I definitely recommend Siteground for anyone looking for web hosting out there!
Even though my issue should be solved by the owner/designer of WordPress that useful technician make the work for me and fix the issue. It is the first time I see a support guy doing things that he had not to do in order to solve a problem for a customer.
Answer: There are certainly many other hosting companies out there, some of which appear cheaper, but there is a difference between low cost and good value. I have not found a hosting company that is better than sitegound
