I got the Serve cash card to use with Apple Cash. Despite the literature online, there was no way to link the card to my debit card or Venmo. Total waste to time and money.

When I called customer support it was almost impossible to get to a live person for help. They were zero help and I closed my account.

This is a scam. I have two of these cards with hundreds of dollars on them and cannot access my money. I can't register one of them and no one in the company will help me. The other one is declined everywhere. Do not fall for this scam. They take your money and won't give it back to you.

On June 29,2023. I purchased a Serve American Express prepaid card. I attempted to make reservation to get a Car from Enterprise Car Rental. Some how Scammers rerouted by Information and pretended to be Enterprise. I gave my Serve Card information (SERVE CARD# 3*******8053 - Right side# 2816) CVC Code # 551. I have attempted to contact Serve so I can be REFUNDED. The transaction was Pending and had NOT been processed once SERVE had been contacted of the problem. I was instructed to Register the card. I am Unable to register my card by Phone or Computer. How can this problem be RESOLVED? I need my 410.00$ I am on a FIXED INCOME. I am without Transportation and Rely on Rental Cars and Public Transportation. Thank You. I can be reached at *******452 by Test Message. I have tried to call customer service *******559. Its a shame i have to give 1 star bc i would give NEGATIVE stars if i could, this "card" is an absolute nightmare. Transfer fees are 17$. Monthly fees are 9$. Everytime you try to make a purchase online the card will just decline the purchase. And everytime this card declines a purchase They hold the money for 2 weeks for no reason every single time. This place is a joke and it is borderline criminal. They do these holds on every declined purchase so they can keep you with money on that card. So you dont spend it all as soon as you get it and so they can charge you some more 10$ monthly fees what a joke. Screw this company and this card, they should honestly be thrown in jail. It is not legal to hold peoples money hostage for months on end bc of their incompetence.

I have never had a card of any type that was this much of a hassle to activate. I keep being told by the automated system (because there is no human being to talk to) that I will receive a verification email. It's been 2 days and still no verification email. I enter username and password on the website that I alreadys et up and it says they dont match. I click forgot password and it asks for my card number and CVV. I enter that and it says the information is wrong. Every step of the way has been incredibly frustrating while my refund sits in the account and I cannot access it.

Worst card ever

Brought it to make online purchases I was not able to make the purchases they told me to register the card I kept getting denied. They said I am not approved after I already have a Card and my money is on the card They said there's nothing that they can do. All I can do is use the card in the store after giving me different false information all day. That is not what I bought it for

To continue with my card issue with my american express serve.I had a rep tell me that I could transfers money to walmart to pickup, um lady how the hell can I do that without the new card or the old one active? Now I get an email to complete a fraud form to submit, um WTF again how can you do that without the card info? This whole situation is just utterly rediculous that these csr's don't have a damn clue! But between the reviews and calls that will made maybe they will learn. Again I can't get over that is was CLEARLY STATED DO not CANCELL until I call you due to my deposit,needing to pay bills and also being VALENTINE'S DAY! So why and who AUTHORIZED it Because I didn't.This issue even cost me money due to late fees and even missed my daily number that would have hit for about $1200.00 or more So therefore I am seeking answers and retribution. Calling BBB SOLVE IT SEVEN AND ANYONE ELSE ON EARTH AND HEAVEN!

SCAMMERS BEWARE

These nasty people have done it to me 3 years in a row! Im stupid for using them again but it was the quickest way to get my refund from jackson hewitt… they literally have embarrassed me numerous times since last week. They basically took my funds and said there was suspicious activity and froze my money! THERE IS NO LIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE ON ANY NUMBER! THERE IS NO EMAIL TO CONTACT THEM! Im going to file a police report. Worst company in the history. And btw jackson hewitt wont even help lol. Beware dont use

Horrible card

This is the absolute worst card that I ever had! For some reason, that makes no sense to me, they decided to temporarily lock my account And when I called to unlock it, they told me it was going to take 5 to 7 business days for the emails to go through and process with their team. Like What do you mean I didn't claim fraud or anything close to something like that they just randomly decided to lock my account up and told me it was going to take a week basically to fix it and my birthday is in 3 days. So frustrating! Oh and this was after about the fourth person I got transferred to because they kept transferring me to the wrong department and they couldn't transfer me to the right one so I had to call back and start the whole waiting hold process over. So if you get this card through Jackson Hewitt for your tax return like I did I highly suggest you take all of your money off of the card and transfer it to another one cuz this is not the only problem I've had with them. And they charge a monthly service fee I recommend Varo!

Worst customer service

This was the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced and I deal with Comcast and PG&E regularly. The woman I spoke to was so rude in fact that I was willing to look for a new card and close my account immediately! Honestly I wouldn't have bothered with this card if I had known how useless "Metabank" is. Heads up a lot of companies don't do business with Metabank.
So rude, horrible customer service and the card isn't accepted by many companies that you can't pay most bills with. If negative stars were a thing this card would be getting plenty of them I'm sure.
End of story we switched to Greendot and are very happy with it. Good riddence to the dead weight that is Servecard.

I recently purchased and loaded this card at Walmart. No problems with the first few transactions. Then I went to order pizza and the purchase was declined (my error as I entered the wrong zip code) however a hold was still put on the card for the amount of my order, $110.93. I called customer service and was told the hold would be lifted in 5-8 business days which is ridiculous - why is there a hold when invalid information was entered in the first place? The rep also suggested I register the card in case I need to dispute any charges - ok, makes sense. I still need food so I place my order again, this time entering the correct zip code, order goes thru no problem, delivery received, all is fine with the world. I attempt to register my card and am repeatedly denied. Call CS back and was told I must be entering something wrong to which I responded that is doubtful since the information I was registering with is the same information entered on the phone to get my balance and customer service, then she says register from a computer and not a phone, still denied. Days later I check my balance again and the hold and has now POSTED as a completed transaction and AMEX is refusing to review and correct it. This is BS! I have called the merchant and am disputing it with them but it doesn't look promising so for now I'm out $200 for f****** pizza and am just supossed to suck it up? I don't think so! These cards are TRASH and so is American Express as a company. Transactions like this and registration denials are a reoccuring issue with these cards and something needs to be done to shut them tf down. If neither the pizza merchant nor AMEX doesn't correct this asap I will be pursuing legal action.

I got the Serve American Express prepaid debit card to save me a little money in bank fees for when I need to pull money out from Thailand. But it will not let me on the computer website or the app site since I am here. I called them and they said I can do everything by phone. That takes such a long time that this is a terrible card to use if you cannot get on to their website and check things out and transfer money. It is useless to me cause it will take so much time to always call them and do things they should have a secure website to go to. It must show that they could be a cheap company and don't have good firewalls. I will be pulling my money out and cancelling my cards. Please read other reviews on other websites this is not the card to use in my opinion. I usually read reviews one time I didn't and this is what I've had to go through. Read reviews please.

I received a SERVE.com Card as a gift. It was activated and I was instructed to go online to register the product. I am now 48 hours later - no less than 50 attempts to register - 7 Customer Care agents (6 who hung up on me) - and I am LIVID because I am no closer to doing the REGISTER than when I began! AMEX SERVE could care less. It's a gottcha moment. The one agent who did not hang-up on me told me to wait 16 hours and take it to a local PNC Bank. Upon doing so, the teller requested the PIN code. It is most apparent that YOU CAN'T HAVE A PIN CODE IF ONE CANNOT REGISTER THE PRODUCT! This is as disgusting as anything that I have ever experienced in a lifetime. I want access to the funds. I want the account to close forever! I hope AMEX puts it where the sun doesn't rise!

On May 28th, 2022, I initiated a bill payment from my Serve account to a small cleaning company in FL for a residential cleaning scheduled for the following week. I was aware the payment was being made by check, but the delivery date given was 'By 6/04/2022'. I was hoping for delivery by 6/02, but 6/04 seemed acceptable so I confirmed payment. The payment amount was immediately deducted from my account on 5/28. I notified the company that I had paid the invoice online and delivery would be on or before 6/04/2022. Well 6/4 came and went and no check. I called Serve Customer Service and I was told to wait until Tues, 6/08, for check to arrive. Well, the mail was delivered on 6/08 and they still did not have the time to check. The business said they could not wait any longer and they had concerns about an additional hold on the funds by their bank. I contacted Serve again to advise them the merchant requested alternate payment, but and I was told to call back in 2 days. As requested we made the payment by Cash App and the funds were in their account within seconds. Of course, the payment did arrive the next day. They had already been paid so they mailed the check back to me. I tried to deposit check in my none Serve account by endorsing check with Not used for intended purpose. I thought it was a long shot since I was not the Payee but my name and address was on the check in the usual account name spot on the check. As I anticipated, my bank would not take the check. I contacted Serve again and explained the check was returned to me and in my possession. After 15 min, I was told the check was still 'Processing' in their system so they couldn't return the funds to my account at this time. I said to the person on the phone that this was my money not theirs. I was told to call back in one week. The check is $120 and they have been using my money for free since 5/28/2022 and that just isn't right! I think Serve must be the Amex for poor folks and thus they treat you as SUCH! VERY DISSATISFIED IN VA

Had someone pay there cable and internet using my card calling as soon as I got the notification and was told to call the cable company to see if they could help, you have no theft protection on this card if someone gets your numbers pays online absolutely nothing can be done

Useless card

I have tried multiple times to close this card online and via phone no luck. No email to try and there is a fee without direct deposit. I will be reporting as fraud with the next deduction as I cannot close my account or change the bank#

I'll never do my taxes with Jackson Hewitt, my refund was issued on March 23rd I still haven't received anything, the serve debit card stinks, it makes American Express look bad, if I was American Express I would not do business with Jackson Hewitt. Finally today I talked with someone from American Express they said that they will send me a check and I will get it in 14 working days, that is disgusting.

My tax refund went on this card. Serv is "holding" the money. I have no access to it. They say they can hold it as long as they want as it is a "secured loan" and is now forever in the control of Serv. It was sold to me by Jackson Hewitt as a cash card. IT ISNT! It's my refund which you agree to forfeit when you get a Serv card. Servs reps laughed and hung up on me twice.my nationally recognized bank said that Serv cards are not respected by banks and cannot be used with them.
