I purchased a chair from this website 4 months ago. It was estimated that it would take three weeks due to the coronavirus backing up their supply line. Fine, I understand. After 3 months, I finally received an update from their horrible support network that took 3-4 days to answer each email that I would be receiving my chair within the next week. After getting an update that said my chair was delivered, it was never actually delivered. Fedex and Seatingmind kept sending me to each other to fix the issue. Neither provided a solution to my missing chair and now I can't get a response from their support network as I guess I have already been scammed out of hundreds of dollars. Do NOT use this service.
The delivered product was not the product ordered. It was of a lower spec. And missing the extra modules that were paid for. Resolution has been extremely difficult and time consuming, still with no resolution. Prior to placing an order be sure to review their BBB rating - I wish I had!
I cancelled my order only 1 day later because I changed my mind. The item naturally had never shipped but I was still charged a 10% cancellation fee even though the item never left processing.
At no point during the purchase journey is a cancellation fee clearly disclosed. The cancellation fee is only mentioned deep in the terms of service which according to the terms themselves, they are for the use of the website and not for purchases. Even in the terms of service it doesn't have a primary heading for order cancellation. In addition, the terms state "We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change, modify, or otherwise alter these terms and conditions at any time. Such modifications shall become effective immediately or even retroactively upon the posting thereof." For all I know, the terms disclosed changed after the fact, although obviously this is not how an agreement works.
I purchased a chair months ago and never received it. Back and forth with customer service I finally canceled after waiting over 45 days for it to ship! They charged me 10% for doing nothing! They literally kept $55 from me because it's part of their policy. Is it part of your policy as well to not ship someone something they've ordered? Customer service is a joke. Read other review sites too to get an accurate story on this place. Terrible.
I ordered a Herman Miller chair and it came pretty quick and as ordered. I noticed a few issues like the left arm doesn't stay up after locking into place and the back leaning ability seems 'off'. The chair also does not have any serial tag or Identification that it is a Herman Miller chair. I have reach out to Seating Mind for warranty information only to be asked over and over for a video of the broken chair. The shortest I can make the video to show the broken components is 55MB which I cannot send via email. Needles to say I am stuck with a 'so called Herman Miller' chair that is supposed to have a 12 year warranty and I cannot get any information or serial number for the chair to contact Herman Miller. My advice is avoid purchasing from Seating Mind if you are looking for a high end chair like Herman Miller.

I waited for 1.5 months for them to deliver a chair that on their site, they said was in stock and they kept asking me to bear with them due to COVID, 1.5 months! After that, I asked for a status as my back was killing and they said they do not know when they would have my chair in stock and offered a cancellation and a refund so I was like sure, let's do that. In my mind I was happy as that seemed to be quite professional.
Low and behold, I only got 90% of the cost of the chair back due to their "policy" as they went through the pain of setting up the order. Again they did not have the chair so they did not do anything that deserves a 10% fee (not to mention the fact that they never mentioned the fee when they offered me the refund). Cannot imagine how much money they are making from people like me during these difficult times and quite disgusted by their attitude
Ordered a new condition Aeron chair with a couple upgrades and it wound up taking 2-3 times longer than what was quoted to receive the chair. Once it arrived I realized it was the wrong chair, a refurbished model in a different size without any of the upgrades. Notified them right away and they offered to refund some of the money if I kept it but since it was a smaller version that wasn't an option so they sent a return shipping label. Once the chair was returned to them they only issued a partial refund, keeping a 20% restocking fee, and are no longer replying to emails and the only phone number listed goes to an answering machine that nobody checks or replies to.
Item never shipped. Customer support never responded to my request for info. Will be filing as fraud against my credit card and filing an complaint against bbb.
Very disappointed with Seating Mind. I ordered a chair on May 14th. They immediately processed order to my credit card. No notice of backlog or order delays. Said expect to ship in 2 weeks. I did not receive any updates until I reached out in June. They replied they expected the order to ship in next 7 days but said let them know if I wanted to cancel. After another two weeks order had not shipped. When I requested they cancel due to Seating Mind being unable to deliver. The cancelled the order and refunded only 90%. If you order from Seating Mind know they will not provide you a full refund if they are unable to deliver your product. Very poor business practice considering they don't provide any warning up front on backlog/delays or the fees associated.
SeatingMind sent me the wrong product, and then charged me a $130 (20%) restocking fee for sending it back. I had ordered a Herman Miller Aeron chair, size C, and paid extra for that large size. They instead sent me a size B. I asked for an exchange for the correct item, and instead they gave me the partial refund. Who
Throughout the return process they were not only dismissive of my complaints during communication with both the owner and their customer service, but they also added me to another customer's email thread, confusing me with him, and thereby compromising that customer's personally identifiable information. I didn't trust that the company would alert that customer that his information had been shared, so I reached out to him myself, and he confirmed they had not notified him. He too was sent the wrong item, and charged a restocking fee for returning it.
Charging people for sending them the wrong product is terrible. Treating them poorly when reaching out to customer service is also terrible. Compromising customers' information carries legal risk. Do not buy from this company.
This is a fraud business meant to cheat buyers. Should be reported to law enforcement. Save yourself and go somewhere else!
I bought a chair early May. I received the product in June - it did not look new (there was no mention of the product being refurbished or used on the website). It was a defective product as the backrest would not align with the body of the chair. There was no instruction booklet either in the package.
Asked for a refund, they kept 20% ($100) and refunded only 80%.
I ordered the wrong color. In spit of the multiple FREE RETURNS written on the site, the customer service rep FIRST asked that I pay $175 in shipping to swap the item, when I said no they insisted on taking a 20% restocking fee. I'd be fine with this if you hadn't said FREE RETURNS FREE SHIPPING all over your site. This was a personal order but I was planning on purchasing a bulk order for my new office... Now I'm having second thoughts.
Just received chairs and we are thrilled with the quality and performance. Order status on the website still says processing even though the items were delivered. But we got the FedEx notification when they shipped. Even though the order took over 2 months to be processed due to the company getting overwhelmed with orders during the lockdown, customer service was quickly responsive and apologetic when we emailed to check. And we are thrilled with the result and will be back for future orders.

Ordered chair on May 21st. By July, it had still not shipped, and I cancelled the order. They only refunded me part of my money, citing "costs" of ordering, and that they are "double charged" from the credit card processor (which isn't true, we are a merchant as well and that's not how it works). Seems like a scam, they let you order, never ship, then only give you partial money back.
This is their response:
"There is a significant cost related to order processing to customize and prepare your item before shipping as well as work involved in canceling an order, including credit card transaction fees of 6.8%, twice 3.4%. Therefore, according to our terms of service, we assess a 10% service fee on canceled orders that have yet to be shipped. The fee is in line with other retailers. Some furniture retailers charge 50% fee on canceled orders. Please see here more about canceling an order (linked an article from the site TheGuardian on what rights of cancellation usually means). We apologize and are very sorry about this."
If you use the site you'll see nowhere does it say 10% for cancellation, nor any notices about costs for ordering if cancelled during the entire ordering process.
On Sunday, I purchased a chair from seatingmind.com but changed my mind right away - I asked Jacob for a refund and he processed it immediately on the next business day! Customer service was excellent!
I ordered HERMAN MILLER AERON CHAIR WITH POSTUREFIT SIZE B (OR C) BLACK on May/3/2020, and my chair was arrived on Jun/12/2020. The chair does not have "Forward Tilt Feature" which the chair must have. There is no lever and no wire for the forward tilt. I asked customer service to replace the chair, or return and get a full refund. On Jun/18/2020, customer service answered they will ship out the ONLY THE PARTS (lever and wire). Of course, I don't know how to install the parts to the chair. They must ship the chair which has installed all features.
I asked them again to replace the chair, or return and get a full refund. But there is no answer yet. I don't want to waste the time with this company.
Seating Mind customer service and return policy is horrible! After requesting to have an order cancelled due to shipping delays. I was advised via email to refuse the shipment as it was already in route. Due to the pandemic the FedEx driver literally dropped the package at my door. I immediately contacted Seating Mind and was provided a return label. I returned the merchandise in its original unopened box. It was received back by Seating Mind 05/05/2020. As of today 06/18/2020 I have yet to receive my refund. I even disputed it through my financial institution. However, Seating Mind refused the chargeback. My financial institution will no longer assist me at this point, which I have also communicated to Seating Mind. I am now working with the Better Business Bureau in an attempt to resolve this issue. BUYER BEWARE!
Overall satisfied with my purchase, I ordered in early May, in the heat of COVID quarantine and needed a new chair for home. Seems like everyone else did too. At the time, the website showed 2 week to ship. I honestly expected this. After that time, I contacted customer service and they informed me of the delays. I understood and I continued to wait. I received today, a week or so after the new timeline provided by customer service. Did it take a long time, yes. I only wish that the company was more clear up front on the extreme timeline given then COVID situation. Chair is in very good condition and functions very well. Glad to have my chair!
We ordered a used Herman Miller chair and paid $659 by PayPal
We got a tracking number 3 days later, but that never moved... we waited about 4 weeks thinking it was the Corona issue and contacted Seating mInd.
A girl called Sara responded and told us they were super busy and working 24 hours a day 7 days a week and they would ship within 5 days. Nothing happened. We filed a complaint with Paypal (item not received) and a day after that a shipment was moving. We received a chair that was fairly dirty and the headrest we ordered and paid for was not included. I contacted seating mind and was told by Jacob ( The owner) that he would ship the headrest only if we dropped the paypal dispute. I changed the dispute to "item not as described" We see that as blackmail so we did not drop the dispute. In the end Paypal ruled against us because seatingmind submitted a tracking number and the lazy people at PayPal dis not read what we put in the complaint. I could spend more time on this but lfe is too short

Answer: This company may be legit, but from the research I have done online after my purchase experience with them, they totally scam people with their outrageous "restocking fee" policy.
Answer: Prices. But you're getting used stuff in god-only-knows condition. Stick with garage sales. These guys are shady. Beware.
