Sainsbury's recent excessive pandering to "plant based" diets is just the tip of the iceberg with their idiotic policies. My bugbear is why they decided to try to make all the meat "fat free" - trying to buy a decent steak that has not been excessively trimmed is a challenge. They already utterly destroyed their hot rotisserie counter by serving previously delicious ham hock devoid of all its wonderful fat, crisped on the outside - the principal pleasure of this delicacy. After trying to sell vandalized fat free hocks, that looked like little trussed rats, they gave up all together. Why, why, why, must they meddle with good food? It reeks of some idiotic executive decision to pander to all the worst nonsense of spurious health agendas and self-congratulatory "Wokeness". Please can they get back to selling good, honest, untampered with food?

What a sorry shambles
August 17, 2022

Sainsburys at Mere Green... Wednesday morning... filled trolley with shopping and moved to check out.
Many long queues to TWO checkout operators. Hard to imagine but 15mins later still waiting to pay.
The wait provided some entertainment as we watched our frozen food start to thaw.
The many queues now became two and still we waited.
I asked a member of staff "Is this the best you can do"
She said " I have told them but they just walk off"

Sainsburys are advertising... we price match with Aldii

I am saying... customer sevice match with Aldi.

I will not shop at sainsburys ever again. They don't want customers.

Discriminatio
August 15, 2022

I'm very disappointed with sainsburys, i went for shop today and one of the employees was following me and looking my bags all time, I'm 100% sure this happened because I'm not British same happened before when i used to pay in cash, they check the notes all time, the employee called the manager and i was told my comportment was weird, i asked why is that my comportment was weird i did not do anything other than pick some items. The manager came with an excuse, the way as i pick the items and some system blabla it was very uncomfortable and such a shame everyone looking at me as if i did something wrong. Been their costumer since i came to England even rated them very high due to the veggies and fruits quality and the nectar system. As i feel discriminated i won't back there NEVER again, unless they replace the employees for machines, machines don't talk machines are not rude and machines don't discriminate.

Don't eat their tinned tuna. Nasty dark stuff these people are doing. Rancid and fooooouuul smelling tubna that is age-old and ragged raw being sold for human consumption.

Smells like crusted, period that's been in unwashed nickers fromm a diseasd body. It's baaad!

Eat that and it's like your doing damage to your body. Something very wrong there. Came out in swell rash so the food is dirty, nasty. Nnot sure what the sqalid conditions are or where they source their tuna but this is hellish. Review isn't stronng enough to put into words. The either need to source their food to investigate which animal or catfood meat is used for their tinned tuna (passed of as tinned tuna). Smells offensive even after cooking. If you accidentally but it get your money back or send it to a lab. They're playinng danngerous games with your food.

Don't think that buying online will be quicker safer or easier - we shopped online and out of the shopping 10 items were swapped for things we didn't order!
Not only that but one chicken curried ready to cook pack was already out of date by one day!
We got Guinness instead of cider. Dark chocolate kitkat instead of milk chocolate the list went on
It is ridiculous to think that items we ordered were not available and if not the brand we wanted then at least swap cider for cider!
It's a rubbish service but most of all delivering out of date chicken is unforgivable unless they want to kill off their customers
We went into our local store in N21 and they said we should call head office
We did but that was nearly a week ago and not a word - they clearly do not care
Our advice is not to use online delivery services unless you want stuff you didn't order and a good dose of salmonella!

Dreadful
June 10, 2022

This company does not understand the meaning of Customer Service. It is the worst of any supermarket. Poor quality produce and products and misleading information when one can eventually find a phone number to call. How did CEO land his job? He clearly does not shop at Sainsbury!

Homeware shopping
June 5, 2022

I was trying to order some items for collection but the website kept on directing me to a delivery slot even after confirming a collection slot. Who designed this web site needs to go back to year 1 at school and learn how to design a user friendly website. Why the homeware goods are limited to a particular store and not a separate national online shop like, say next for example, and keep food and homeware separate.

Ripping off a dead bloke! Poor show Sainsburys!
My 94 year old father in law died of cancer on Tuesday. Sainsburys had happily cancelled his delivery pass bought at the end of November 2021, when contacted on 11 March after he'd been moved to care. They said they'd issue a refund for the unused portion, in line with their guarantee that no delivery pass customer will lose out if they don't realise the full value of their annual pass. Now, and having not issued any refund, they categorically refuse to issue a refund OR to reinstate the pass (so we can either use it ourselves or so it runs to the end of its term and they have to refund the unused charge. Incredibly callous customer 'service' - and all so they can screw his estate out of around 40 quid. If they're that hard up then they're in serious danger of bankruptcy. Truly the pits of the UK grocery industry. (We and the rest of our family moving to Ocado on basis of their attitude and this experience.

Damage to property
November 16, 2021

Extremely disappointing exchange with your CEO office. Rude, dismissive and accountable to no one. You drove into my property, tried to cover it up, left it unsafe and only acknowledged fault when spotted by a member of the public. Now not interested in resolving.

Visited the store and my elderly father went to the bathroom. He observed two small children unaccompanied splashing water on the floor which he nearly slipped on so he simply reported this to the lady at the self checkout who proceeded to look him up and down like a piece of dirt. He asked to speak to a manager who proceeded to call security and intimidate us all the while the health and safety issue is left unattended. The manager was rude, aggressive and unprofessional so I advised let's leave and report this to head office. She proceeded to click her fingers and have security escort us of the premises and ban us from the store. A very stressful and diabolical handling of a very easily rectifiable issue.

Rude and bad manners
August 3, 2021

I thought my situation was resolved, but a cashier thought it was ok to say to another cashier I can't serve him - previously she said"I am sick of you" but thought it ok to say - the above - thinking I couldn't hear her - oh well they've lost my custom now! Never will return. I find where I go now more better and not uncomfortable - than it was at the, Castleford store at, Sainsbury's

I am not often moved to make a fuss but I find myself in a chain reaction of increasing disappointment and despair.
We did a family shop online on Friday 16 July, nothing unusual there. However a portion of the shop included items for a vegan consumer…. Not always the easiest of tasks.
Imagine my surprise then when I notice an email from Sainsbury's telling me that a vegan ready meal I had purchased actually contained milk, beef and pork…. Not very vegan at all.
I wanted to raise my concern and disappointment to this so I replied to the email and waited several days for some sort of reaction.
There was none so this raised my level of displeasure.
I looked at the email again and decided it was not an address that would be monitored…. Another notch of annoyance…. In this day and age who would send out quite an important email that you cannot reply to?
So I go to google and find a customer services email address…. I'm really quite angry now that something that was not of my doing was causing me so much grief.
Imagine my reaction when I get an automated response telling that Sainsbury's have stopped doing customer service…. By email anyway, totally ridiculous! Another notch up on the Mr Angry scale.
As a last resort I phone the number provided on the email, something I really did not want to do. After an irritating navigation of inappropriate options I end up talking to someone in South Africa, not ideal.
Is my issue with an order…. No
Is my issue with a shop assistant…. No
I just want an email address to write to please.
Back on hold while the operative consults a higher authority…. I'm sorry we don't have an email address…. You must be joking…. Another notch up on the dissatisfaction meter.
Can I speak to your supervisor please? No sorry they are all in a meeting. Who have you just spoken to then? No satisfactory answer. By this point I am absolutely furious and the issue is now much more than a concern about a non vegan vegan meal.
Sainsbury's what on earth are you doing? I have been a loyal customer of yours for many years and use more than just your retail services.
This experience has left me questioning my judgment in doing this and if I do not get some satisfaction from you regarding these escalating matters I will be seriously rethinking whether I want to continue my several relationships with you.

Ordered several Tu items of footwear for my three-year old through Argos click and collect at Sainsbury. I had to return a few of these back to Argos via the same store. My refund never arrived. I had to spend close to one hour on the live chat to attempt to get back the money rightfully owed to me. And even then when the refund eventually came through it was short of £12. I then had to attempt live chat again, which because of the appalling system just kept getting rejected. I persisted and one hour later I have been told I will get my owing £12 – time is to tell on that. At no point was there an apology for the inconvenience. If you don't mind wasting hours of your life trying to claim back refunds, then go ahead and shop with this store. I certainly won't shop with them again

Cancelled my food delivery 1 hour before the scheduled time! This is ridiculous, as I am self-isolation and cannot go to the physical store. The next available delivery slots are few days away. What am I suppose to eat until then? On top of that, I used my 2 GBP coupon for the order, which I did not get back after the delivery cancelation! They did not even offered a new slot, instead they told me to reorder each item again because they cannot see my order details. Easily, 1 star review.

DANGEROUS STORE
June 18, 2021

DO NOT ENTER SAINSBURYS BLACKPOOL
Have complained to staff on 6 occasions regarding being hit by bicycles riding around the store. On one occasion I waited 15 minutes for a member of "management" to come downstairs and the silly twat told me that she was unaware of any law preventing bikes in store! Another "manager" told me that if I didn't like it, it was my responsibility to tackle the cyclist and not theirs! This sounds really awful but I really hope an elderly lady is run over in store, perhaps the resulting costs and publicity will educate the company.
On another occasion, in a busy store, the cashier glared at a mother & child, then began ranting "it's always them, it's always the p4kis"
This is completely unacceptable. I do not know where this cashier was from or what her problem is (but I could identify her) it is NEVER, EVER ok to bring your racist rant to your professional working environment or any public place. Keep your bigoted poison to yourself.
Where the hell do they find these idiots? Managers who want customers to stop cyclists in store and cashiers who feel it's ok to spread race hate around Sainsbury's.
Blackpool has one of the highest unemployment rates in the UK, there is a huge pool of potential employees, but Sainsbury's are not very selective. It appears that they would rather scrape clowns from the floor of a local drug den and slap a uniform on them.
Please please vote with your feet and do not enter this store, to keep yourself safe and to force them to examine their recruitment and training.
