My roommate is very compatible to me in age and desires. We both work hard, drama free and focusing on retirement. Your website has always been a great connection for me to find the right roommate. My roommate also tried another source which he paid $50 for but never received a call back.
I particularly like the comments area that each renter is telling what he is looking for. That is important to me. I only view the candidates who tells in detail about him or her and what he/she is looking for.
I sent out around 15 inquiries to be a roomat e for someone who has a place and not one got back to me. Starting to think the site only releases rely emails if you pay the optimal fee. Dissappointment because the site is a good idae. Just come clean an say it only may work if you pay
I had a newspaper advertisement for a roommate, paid $66 and got all the WRONG people calling as I was not allowed to say, "PROFESSIONAL WOMEN ONLY". I discovered roommates.com and I, IMMEDIATELY, was on a trial period and sent possible roommates. I sent all of the, potential, roommates a message saying Hello and 3 responded, but 1 returned my call. It just so happened that she is the perfect roommate. Thank you roommate.com. You all ROCK!
I paid the fee, the rent is reasonable, not only have I not got a SINGLE response, I have sent over twenty messages to people looking in my area, to no avail... not a single reply... UNBELIEVABLE!

I was not happy so I sent an email stating my dissatisfaction. I happened to go back to my personal email account and found I received another 'match' email with a link attached. I clicked the link to see if it brought up an actual profile only to find I had my paid membership downgraded to basic. I thought immediately "SCAM" since I had 20+ days left. 2 hours later I was back into my emails and found they sent me an email stating they were sorry for my dissatisfaction and I would be getting a refund... I removed my previous 'hate' rating for this site and updated it. Hey, how much can ya complain when they ARE good enough to refund you?!... You can't
I have been using roommates.com for 4 consecutive years and each time I have found the perfect roommate. I like how it gives you so many options to find exactly what you are looking for in a roommate. I only reach out to potential roommates who have a photo and fill out their description/ bio. I also like that it it matches you up with people who are in the same price range you are looking for. That way you can eliminate those who don't meet your requirements. Time saver!
The site served me well; I paid for a membership and found someone close to where I lived before and it was worth the time and bit of money to find a place and a rent I could afford, since I didn't qualify for an apartment on my own. The website itself feels a bit "retro" and outdated, but since it is mainly textual, everything loaded more easily.
Love this website! It's a paid account, but it's worth it, plus it weeds out all the baddies, in my opinion. Not only did i find a great roommate through roommates.com, but had so many great potential people contact me! Highly recommend it!
I used a couple sites looking for a clean place to live (not 420 friendly), as well as it being safe and affordable. I am grateful that I found such a place on roommates.com. I just moved in, but there is peace with the person I moved in with- as well as good communication to start.
Thank you for assisting me to find an excellent roommate. This site is very user friendly, and I was able to navigate through it perfectly. When I have questions about my account, I can send an email, and I got personal responses withing 48 hours. My current roommate is my 5th using roommates.com. I had to pay to find my roommate, but I would rather pay for a quality roommate, than use a site like Craigslist. My thinking is if you are too cheap to pay the small amount of money to talk to me, then you are definitely not the roommate for me.

Its a great website, I found what I was looking for a great roommate but I would recommend they get an app for android/iphone devices
The tools roomates.com provides are easy to use and very effective. The only con is the people advertising rooms for rent most don't even reply but only the serious ones do. But my experience with Roomates.com was first rate. Thank you for offering such a great service and tool.

This is a great site to find good quality roommates. I have been using it for 16 years! Its much better than trying to use sites such as Craigslist that seem to have much riff raff. Its worth the 20 bucks you pay to be able to read your emails. If you are too cheap to pay 20 bucks to find a room then you arent the roommate for me!
I was able to locate a compatible roommate within a few days, within my budget and in the desired geographical area. I would not hesitate to recommend this service.
I was made to pay $19 to be able to get a room mate but all I got was emails and phone no that I think are fabricated because when you call the number nobody ever answer. For you people out there dont fall for this site its totalk a scam.

I paid and what ever they show was not true. This a scam... do not pay for this site. At the beginning before paying the membership, it shows what you are looking for, but when you pay those offers you can never find them.

Members activate and deactivate their profiles daily depending on whether they still need a roommate, so the selection of what is available will change on a regular basis.
Posting your profile and sending messages to other members with your contact information is completely free. Paying for a membership makes it so you can read your incoming messages from other members, so one of the two people trying to communicate would have to pay for a membership.
