The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from perceived censorship and biased moderation practices. Many users express frustration over account management issues, such as difficulties in deleting accounts and unjust bans, which contribute to a sense of being silenced. While some appreciate the platform's diverse content and sense of community, the overwhelming sentiment is one of disillusionment with the site's environment, described as toxic and unwelcoming. This dichotomy highlights a pressing need for improved moderation transparency and user support to enhance the overall user experience.

It is a gathering place for the scum of the earth. Moderators seem like kids that were picked on in school and now have turned into biased internet trolls. Logic and intelligence does not fit there.
If you are lonely/bored/depressed this site is the place to be. They will be reinforcing your negative beliefs and make you feel bettter about your self-loathing situation creating a false sense of happiness and you will be thinking that everyone there is super friendly and helpful. However, if you take a closer look and analyze what the people there are actually saying you will be shocked and possibly enraged. All the content is filtered by some autistic admins that will remove anything that's not to their liking. I personally would hack them if I really had that much free time and expose them for what they are. I hope you will open your eyes and see it for what it really is and get away from that toxic place. There are a million awesome things you can do with your time instead of wasting it there.
I paid $75 on an Amazon giftcard to get my fake ID and nothing ever came... I also have no way to contact the company either. WOULD NOT recommend.
Reddit has definitely been on a downward trend since about 2011. I am still a daily user because I only really go on the subreddits whose content I know that I like. I think Reddit can still be a great site if you avoid certain subreddits like the plague (especially religious/areligious, political, and ones infamous for $#*!posting).
I've written about Election '16 for over a year. I always write about understanding people's apprehension with Trump and why I would never have voted for Clinton. Each post I make on this subject I get a slap on the wrist email telling me how disrespectful I am and if I keep it up I will be banned. My blogs are mostly humorous and always fair. There is never profanity but I always get warnings. Reddit should state up front that only liberals are welcome to share.
I was on /r/news, which is a default subreddit. What this means is, it is a community that is selected by the website to appear on the front page and it is a community that represents the site. There are quite a few subreddits.
Anyways, I was having a discussion with someone about the election. It was going quite well, neither of us were arguing, but simply sharing our viewpoints. As soon as I mentioned something positive of Mr. Trump, I received a message from the Moderator team that I was banned from the /r/news subreddit, and the explanation was "you should get off this site and go kill yourself. Trump supporters aren't welcome here".
I was taken back by this, and decided to ask why they had acted so immaturely and sent me a message like that. Not one moderator responded. So I decided to escalate my issue to the admins, where I was then told they don't get involved in community bannings.
This person who not only banned me but sent me this message is a moderator for one of their selected subreddits to represent the site. It is for this reason, I cannot support this website anymore.
I remember times when it was fun to surf there. Now its filled with ads/politics and numerous other info which isnt fun or useful at all. Bad :(
Starting out as a great place for niche communities, Reddit has devolved into a liberally-charged echo chamber across most sub-reddits policed by overzealous and biased admins. The golden days of Reddit are no more and it pains me to leave it after all this time.
I tried to understand reddit and its $#*!ed users but it doesnt make sense to normal human beings. You have to be somewhat down syndrome to use reddit and understand what the $#*! some of these $#*!s are even talking about. Anyone can join reddit just like highschool. If you graduated from highschool congrats your fit to becoming the average $#*! props you to i once thought i was special oh yeah i graduated but it turns out i was just special ed like the rest of you $#*!ing $#*!s. No graduating highschool has nothing on the $#*!ing fools that use reddit the idiots that got A+ in highschool their the idiots that use reddit. Lol. Its comedy really. They think they are smarter than you because they say $#*! that sounds more $#*!ed than you its quite funny actually. Dont stop laughing at the $#*!s who graduated keep laughing truly the comedy continues in life when you join reddit. You $#*!in fools will understand when you read the entirety of just one single post youll see how $#*!ing stupid $#*! gets. Its pointless jabber. Complete waste of time. Ive realized tho that the same people who use reddit are the same $#*!s that finally realized that graduating from highschool WAS a waste of time AND they should have just wasted their time on reddit instead. You $#*!ing $#*!ed immigrants will never understand.
Censorship has made sure that it's no longer the front page of the internet. It's now the front square of the toilet roll.
I think the fact that users laud those who say "/s" when they are trying to be sarcastic is enough to illustrate how shallow the user-base is.
I appreciate the spread of content and news, but the discussions are often fueled by group-think and mob mentality.
Reddit used to be a really great website to talk about technology, share pictures, learn interesting facts, and so much more.
Over the past few years, it has become a self-absorbed soapbox. You heard about the indecipherable Gamergate controversy, the indecipherable Ellen Pao controversy, SRS and related subs, Coontown's racism, the Fatpeoplehate fallout, the failed Bernie Sanders campaign, and now Donald Trump's views control the site. All of those groups spam each other with meaningless propaganda that only make people needlessly stressed out and turn people against each other.
I don't know if reddit will ever recover. Either it will die soon or it will have to undergo major reformation.
Let us change are $#*!ingn age you dumb asses, your website is useless if I can't acces anything cause your $#*!ingn stupid $#*! $#*!s
I'm not too sure about this service. It gives a lot of marketing opportunities to share the links and materials but i'm still confused about the usability and ease to navigate. The design is quite simplistic (like in 90s) and sometimes I just don't know what these options are for.
The default subreddits are rubbish, most of the niche ones are rubbish, too many stalkers, not enough rules site-wide, not enough enforcing the rules, illegal behaviour is encouraged and protected, endless misogynist and racist users, site has actual Neo-Nazis in worldnews, people react with threats or looking for your personal info whenever you call out their bull$#*!. Reddit's admins care more about getting users to buy gold that making the site a place worth supporting. Easy to manipulate vote counts, have multiple alternate accounts to harass people with, easy to "squat" on subreddit names, can't delete subreddits, reports not taken seriously, hate communities not banned unless there's a flurry of media attention. If you're the sort of person who enoys 4chan/8chan and calling everyone libcucks, reddit's for you. Otherwise, just use individual forums or a site like linkibil.
Reddit.com is one of the best places on the internet to keep in touch with the world. Simply browse the front page to find anything from adorable kittens doing kitten things to heated debates on current events. Whatever your niche is, Reddit.com has a community for it just waiting to let you join them. True gem of the internet.
It's really front page of the internet. Everything you want to know/to see is available there!
Provides an interesting service, but if someone wants to bully you, they aren't for removing the comment, but would rather you fight back at the bullies. Anybody could say anything, even if it's not true or hateful with a bullying intent here. I'd give it more stars only if they got rid of the bullying.
Answer: Absolutely cancer. Unless you're an NPC without a brain of your own.
Answer: Use sitejabber, much better. Since they don't make you jump through hoops to post a review and they don't censor negative reviews. TONS of bad sites online. TONS of corrupt sites. Clean up the internet. Break up these monopolistic companies.
Answer: Don't trust reviews from reddit because the site is censored to get rid of negative reviews. Censored by corrupt moderators and admins.
