Reddit Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from perceived censorship and biased moderation practices. Many users express frustration over account management issues, such as difficulties in deleting accounts and unjust bans, which contribute to a sense of being silenced. While some appreciate the platform's diverse content and sense of community, the overwhelming sentiment is one of disillusionment with the site's environment, described as toxic and unwelcoming. This dichotomy highlights a pressing need for improved moderation transparency and user support to enhance the overall user experience.

Reddit is filled with SJWs who constantly defend radical feminism, LGBTQ+ hypocrisy on straight people and Christians, annoying strict moderators, AND people who think they're smart and write out huge groups of text about something they could just give a clear answer to. Quora is also similar to this. Also, the gore needs to be stopped! I'm tired of seeing dead bloated decomposing bodies on reddit.

I hadn't posted to the site in weeks, no subs had complained against me, and I get a site ban out of nowhere.

The site used to be great but has changed into a smorgasbord of nonsense.

I own two Hikvision recorders I recently stopped getting notifications on one of my reporters through the ivms-4500 software I thought it was a phone issue. I was soon to find out that Vision has stopped supporting the ivms 4500 software that's fine I was going to go with hike connect instead found it one of the services that my recorders use is no longer supported as well. It was at a property several hours away. I then changed the recorder for an H I E D & S service to IP domain I still receive no function off the alarm or output the push through to my app on my phone phone technical support Hikvision usa.com that was a fruitless venture. After 5 attempts with different people each time no resolution was found. This is called buyer beware when you buy a product that has support and the support for the product disappears you have been screwed. Their best answer was you need to go buy a new video recorder and it's all that and they'll support that with their new line of products and online things. I would assume that when was this going to disappear and I would have to buy another one quote" they said they weren't sure.

Mismanaged at best
March 19, 2022

A platform that enables abusers, bullies and those who want to spread misinformation while simultaneously putting in very arbitrary rules to punish those using the platforms properly. Any and all attempts to reach administration about any issue will be most likely met with a bot, and only answered with vague and unhelpful responses.

Reddit is one of those sites that you should think before joining. Upon joining my first time it started off nice. But that changed, new members get bullied over not knowing how to use the site properly. If you make a post with improper tags the people will tell you to constantly fix your post. You cannot share a experience without being victim blamed. I shared a experience on reddit someone instantly made a comment and made it seem like I was wrong about what I said. Reddit users act like they are so smart. Underneath the same post about my experience the reddit users act as if they know more about a app I've used as well. We all experience different experiences, but your wrong about this app! They misunderstood or misread comments. The reddit users will downvote you if they think you said something negatively. I've been a victim of being downvoted over a statement I've said by people on reddit. Some reddit users who get downvoted tell others to downvote a person for no reason. This happens often and other reddit users feed their negativity. Reddit users belittle others. I was bullied in a reddit because I asked for help. Immature reddit users put stupid comments Underneath your post. Some sub Reddit supports inappropriate fanart. I actually posted a art on a reddit forum and got downvoted. I got downvoted because I said this artist sexualized underaged characters. Keep in mind I have no problems with aged up characters. But the artist drew them in the exact same design as their kid one. Reddit users insisted that these characters looked aged up and I got downvoted by many. The artwork was inappropriate, the artist sexualized underaged characters. Reddit rewards stupidity all the time. The people you talk to on reddit aren't your friends. I've been nice to many users on reddit and still got bullied there. Moderators are useless and incompetent as well. In conclusion stay away from this site. It's very negative overall. The users don't wanna see different views. And trying to fix in will drain you mentally avoid this site at all cost.

First of all the site is moderated by some of the most power-hungry and sensitive people. On most of the subs that involves news, politics (whether Left or RIght) although 99% are usually politically left and will ban you for anything that aligns with the right or even being Conservative. If you respectfully question or argue on topics like COVID, BLM, Crime, Mental Health, Oil/Gas they will ban you. Ohh and the people who use and comments on the site are a bunch of hypocrite, racists, over-sensitive kids. They are the same people who hate on peaceful protests if they dont agree with it (freedom convoy, pro-law, etc.) but they will encourage rioting on the streets for the LGBTQ and BLM movements. The mods on the site needs to get a real job (a real paid job) and hopefully it is not anything that gives you authority such as Law Enforcement or Medical.

Reddit hosted the largest peodophile site in the world at an estimated 1million daily viewers. That in itself is horrific but reddit hosts many extremely degenerate subs. If there's a deviant behaviour you can be sure reddit hosts it.

Saw that Reddit had a USPS forum (not officially connected to USPS) for questions and answers so I posted a question re: an international tracking issue. I was able to track a package in Poland, leaving Poland, arriving at US Customs, then arriving at USPS in Miami. I wondered if anyone knew why tracking now says "invalid tracking number, non-trackable". I did call USPS first, was told after a lengthy wait that "We can only tell you what you see yourself when you track!", which is always helpful, especially when they follow that with a cheery, "Thanks for being a USPS customer!"

A Reddit moderator removed my post, said it violated policy, that you can't ask for help with finding a package. I replied, said that I did NOT ask for help finding a package; I didn't give a tracking number, a name, an address, nothing at all related to finding the package, I just wondered why a working tracking number is now called invalid. Got a LONG reply with 101 listed Reddit rules, none of which I broke. The reply was canned, automated, indifferent.

I wrote reddit again, got another reply, this time telling me that I CAN post a question about USPS tracking but that it has to be a "general" one. My original post WAS general! No name, address, tracking number, zilch! What did I do wrong, was I not supposed to call the freaking package "MY package"? I tried to reply and found that they've blocked me from replying. Oh, the pain, how shall I survive.

I won't use Reddit again, totally pointless to go to a USPS questions forum and find that dozens of USPS topics aren't allowed because they might promote "incivility". Yeah, asking why a tracking number suddenly goes "invalid" must really make USPS people get riled. Also ridiculous that power hungry Reddit mods enforce "rules" with no regard to context, talk to you like they're machines and you're a NON-valued user.

Reddit can get Bent
February 16, 2022

Communist moderators, unskilled at their one and sole purpose in life. You like walking on eggshells and constantly worried something you say could be misconstrued and result in an insta-ban with no recourse? Then Reddit is for you. Wanna get banned for asking a simple question? Yup Reddit is for you. Boycott this trashcan of a social media site. I did and I feel so much better not reading garbage all day and not worrying if my efforts to maintain a social media account will get squashed with one single misstep. Years of participation all gone because one moderator misconstrued a question that was asked. No recourse for that keyboard warrior with a napoleon complex. I'm just "Out-Back"... Well funny thing is... Reddit... YOU are out back. "You dun burned that bridge son!"

The Narrative
February 15, 2022

If you type anything outside of the Hivemind narrative, get ready to be banned. They have a mob rules karma level that ensures that you cannot post, or provide input if you disagree with the narrative provided. They try to make you think that a majority feels a certain way, which couldn't be further from the truth. But they will keep trying until they collapse under their own weight as soon as free speech is aloud

Is there a way to describe how this website is other than to say: as if it is a banana republic or a bad nightmare? There seems to be an illusion that there are rules and sub-communities, but in reality the site seems to be run by autocracy or oligarchy. You really don't need this! In addition to illogical bots, there may be some very rude or aggressive moderators as well that seem to be inhuman. If you want to get a taste of how life would feel like living in a dictatorship, then try to join it - otherwise you'd be much better off staying away; far, far away.

First of all, this is huge time pit. You're going to lose a stupendous amount of time in it.
Just like TikTok, it relies on gathering vast amounts of information, solutions, shared stories in all walks of life.
However, think first. There are so many subreddits that some are used for corporate purposes, for marketing and HR purposes, e.g. for big box stores. Others are supporting whole professional industries, like plumbing, HVAC and electricians.
Still, think first. Are you gaining any real knowledge there. Track this and you'd see how much time you investing in browsing through the ramblings of a large number of people with nothing better to do.
Some forums do provide some form of service, such as mental health and legal advice, but all come with a disclaimer, and veracity of stories there on occasions seem not genuine.
Moderation of subreddits is absolutely rampant and adheres to no common policy, to no basic chart of rules, or some parameters that would guarantee fair review should you be persecuted by a mod. And you'd be persecuted by one, believe me. Mods are the worst of reddit users. Usually they hate themselves and hate everybody who leaves a spec of misdemeanor on their subreddit. In the case of a few subreddits you'd get a ban for absolutely no reason, even for erasing your own posts.
It is a huge pit of time that can suck you in pretty hard. Don't give in, save your time and do something more productive. It looks like it is a fun time learning stuff, but at the end, it is not, and the time wasted could've been used to really learn more.

Bull

One I said no wrong and your site thinking on a small comment which barely gives you a small amount to say anything kicked me off for a simply comment which had no hate, not only is this truly a insult but my comment was not even rude I only said a building in Russia was interesting and your fellow people complained on one simply wording which was not even a insult since Russia has unique colors I liked, now it's pretty much dead to me when you just kick some one off for not even a bad remark, why don't you look at the comment and ask the person instead of thinking a simply wording was not hurting no one it was a bad move and it makes anyone act like haters toward one person who did no wrong, you guys better make it right because that was a huge hurt on just one person who never said one bad thing on many sites for years! I will say you guys were terrible but the people who had this complaint are true haters for a color interest, next time don't kick some off for a comment without their side of things! Or next comment I will promise to post this on another site on this for it was a terrible shot toward one person.

It's absolutely horrible with what Facebook just went through regarding their lack of control of bullying and content on their site. Reddit is no different and the moderators on some subs seem to do a pretty decent job while others have a false sense of power to ban people or do nothing. I was actually banned for two days for stating that I thought a particular actor on a TV show was "terrible". I laughed. One of the worst things about it is you can't really report a moderator for their infraction of the rules because when you do… Reddit doesn't even bother to contact you back, so nothing happens.

I think the absolute worst thing is The bullying from people that are too mentally small to do their own research. They feed off one another like the children they are so if you want to have an intelligent conversation about something… It's nearly impossible. I guess it's a matter of trying to find the right site for intelligent conversations, if there is such a thing.
