My experience is with eBates.com, but they just rolled that site into rakuten.com. They've actually been part of the same company for years, but just merged into one website. Anyway, I have made over $237 dollars over the past few years, with extremely limited effort. Basically, I've just shopped online like I always shop. But I use the 'ebates/rakuten' Chrome extension, and when I'm on a site, it alerts me that free cashback money is available. So I make the purchase like I would have anyway, and get some cashback. They used to mail me checks, but now it just gets direct deposited in my paypal account. I've had no problems!

Scam and not the company you may rely on.
Do not expect anything - they trick people like 1, 2, 3.
Made my purchase online 5/10/2019 for the crazy amount $3352 hoping to get a promissed cashback. Did not receive a peny until today 5/28/2019. Customer support is helpless and do not care about their custmer after all. I would use any chance to tell everyone do not trust them cuz it is so upset and unfair. Why you promote something you are not able to give!

I opened an Ebate account, made one purchase >$25, referred a family member (of course with the same family name). In my Ebate account, it showed that I earned 1500 points for 1st purchase and 2500 for referral. By the time Ebates promised to transfer the points to my linked account, it didn't. Contacted Ebates. Ebates consistently said the referral is my self because the referral used the same billing address! How ridiculous! We live in one house!

Stay away from Ebates. They will remove your awarded points/cash at its own wish. Compared to Dosh, Ebates is trash.

I was hesitant to sign up with this site even though the incentives seemed good. I assumed that it would end up taking up too much time to track and follow through with the rebates. Instead I was surprised at how well everything is integrated and automated. The only misstep was my Welcome bonus not arriving so far, and that's because it was sent by mail instead of being done electronically like all my other incentive cash. Strange that they chose snail mail as the way to go when everything else is so well thought out. Still waiting on response from Rakuten regarding this issue, otherwise highly recommended.

Rakuten is a fraudulent company. They sell used items as refurbished that have not been serviced at all. I purchased a surround sound speaker system from them that hadn't even been factory reset. It had someone else's WIFI information and name. Additionally, the speaker system was made up of different speakers from different systems and was completely useless. When I contacted them, they refused to pay return shipping. They wanted me to pay to ship the 26lb speaker system back at a cost that was more than what I actually paid for the system in the first place. When I filed a complaint with the BBB, Rakuten immediately offered me a refund. After two months without any additional contact and no refund, I contacted the BBB again. Rakuten then decided that they weren't going to refund my money anymore.

I didn't know that the big name is really short in purpose.
Rakuten surveys as also known as Rakuten Insight surveys really cheat people mentioning big points, but only used to give one point all the time after completion of surveys. That means when one would reach the redemption of point qualification, nobody knows. One should applause Rakuten for continuously sending surveys with big points mentioned that anyone would love to have but all fake.
It's better to get rid of such surveys rather wasting time here.
