Do NOT Use!
April 20, 2026

We are a church group for the children in our congregation. For a day camp, we wanted to add a QR code to allow easier registration. Later, we learned it was not free, but it was $11+ per month. Rather than start over and find a free QR code creator, I thought we'd pay for the month. My mistake, I didn't read the fine print that you're charged for the full year. I immediately sent an email explaining and we did not use the QR code. A week later, I finally get the conclusion of their review. They will not issue a refund. We have not used nor will we use the QR code creator. It was for a single event and we found a free one. It appears they need the $100+ and are willing to take it from a church's childrens program.

If you are using QR codes for specific, annual events DO NOT USE.

We were misinformed, led to believe there was flexibility to their subscription packages.
Our needs were short term and forced to pay for annual fees in full.

I attempted to purchase a monthly subscription from QR Code Creator. During checkout, the platform clearly displayed a price of 7.98 EUR, which I understood as the monthly rate.

After confirming the payment, I was unexpectedly charged 114.91 EUR, the full annual amount, without my informed consent. This misleading presentation of the price constitutes a deceptive practice under EU consumer protection law, including the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC) and the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU).

I contacted the company immediately, requesting cancellation and a full refund. They refused, citing internal policies, and offered only to cancel future renewals while keeping my access until the end of the paid period. The trader provides no clear company address, registration number, or country information, which violates EU consumer protection law, including the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC) and Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU).

This is a deceptive and misleading practice. I strongly advise avoiding this service unless you want to risk being mischarged and denied a refund.

Deceptive Free Trial
April 1, 2026

They make it seem like it's free (and unlimited) to create simple, black and white QR codes. Then two weeks later, they will deactivate your QR codes unless you upgrade to a paid monthly plan of $10+ per month. Congratulations, you'll get some money from me for now, and many, many negative reviews along with it.

If you need QR codes, Chrome has an extension that will actually create them for free. Windows also has a free option.

This is NOT a free QR code service, it is a 7 days free trial, and you will need to subscribe in order to keep your QR code active. They show monthly prices for subscription plans, but they will charge an annual bill, which is quite a lot of money. All these facts are not at all clear on their website, and like many others I found myself paying for an annual bill I didn't need. Immediately I requested to cancel my subscription and get a refund, which was initially denied. I contacted my bank to start a dispute and then fortunately I got my money back. As consumers we are entitled to exercise our statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. There are so many things that are misleading in this website. Its is a subscription trap. Stay away from them and get your QR codes really for free by using canvas or adobe.

Very misleading information
February 18, 2026

I needed 1 QR code for some promotional materials. Signed up for the free trial and after the trial period they deactivated it. In order to keep it active I had to sign up for a subscription. I was forced to do this because all my promotional material was printed and distributed already. The subscription page made it seem like they were monthly. Figured I would sign up for the time I would need the QR code to be active (about 2 months). I than found out that it's actually a YEARLY subscription. Reached out to them and asked for a partial refund. I broke down the cost per month and offered to pay for 3 months (since I did use their services) and asked to be refunded the rest. I felt this was a fair middle ground. They refused and offered to show me the features and services they offered. I explained that I only needed 1 QR and none of their other services were needed. They kept refusing, and now I'm out over $100 for 1 QR code. Very disappointed in their customer service

They advertise a "monthly" rate but then will charge you for the annual rate and once you discuss with their Customer Service team they reply with a sorry thats your problem but please let us show you some more features that you didn't want for a subscription you don't want to pay a year for. Thought they would be a great use for a single event QR code but you should definitely look elsewhere unless your in the business of using and making QR codes daily.

THIS WEBSITE IS A SCAM
February 10, 2026

Put simply there's nothing that says it's a trial when you sign up. It just says generate free qr codes. Soon after you've had time to generate the qr code and put it on your printed materials you are told that you need to upgrade your account to continue using the qr code. Of course by this point your printed materials are out in the wild and you have no choice but to upgrade. It's aggreguously expensive and there's no option to pay month to month. You can only pay a whole year at a time. Absolute SCAM BAIT AND SWITCH. This should be illegal if it isn't already.

Terrible company
January 21, 2026

I use this website because it was the first that popped up when I googled QR codes. It advertised a free QR code. So I got the QR code put it on my bridal shower invites and sent them out. A week after I sent them out I got an email saying my QR code would expire if I didn't pay. I went on the website saw a monthly plan for $11 a month and decided to pay for it. I was doing this quickly so when it asked me to confirm that amount, I double clicked and as soon as my phone recognize my face and confirm the payment. I realize it said $133. I immediately emailed the company asking for a refund because I cannot afford $133 right now and $133 for one QR code is ridiculous. They have told me due to their policies they cannot refund me. This website is a scam. I would not recommend it. Truly, the most unprofessional on empathetic business I've ever worked with. Won't even give me a phone number to call

I searched the internet to create a FREE QR code (with hindsight I could have done that with microsoft edge for free!) and found this site, advertising with FREE QR code generation.
As it turned out the QR code was free for only a week and then they force you to pay 150 dollars to continue using it! It is a scam!
Customer service was not willing to compensate and not cooperative towards me and because the code was used in printed material I had to continue to pay.
DON'T USE THIS PROVIDER, THEY RIP YOU OF FOR SOMETHING THAT CAN BE CREATED FOR FREE WITH MICROSOFT EDGE

I think this website is very sneaky in it's advertising. I used it to create a free QR code as advertised, not realising that it was only free to create a QR code, which would then stop working after 7 days, which they really hid in the fine print. It took multiple emails back and forth to work out how much they actually charge for you to continue to use a QR code- they describe this for the personal plan as "€11.10 /month billed annually" which after several more emails they eventually clarified that it would cost €133.20 plus taxes for the QR code to continue to work, with no monthly option available.
I ended up reprinting the things I had already printed the QR code on, using an actual free QR code (try Canva or Adobe FYI) rather than pay the extortionate prices they were asking.
I feel this is a very disingenuous company looking to trip people up then loop them into expensive subscriptions.

Got scammed too
January 6, 2026

Needed a QR code for school Xmas fair… used free trial then told it would expire the day before the fair so panicked and signed up for what I thought was a month subscription but got charged for the whole year. Immediately raised a ticket with their customer services to cancel and a month later they reply saying that's not their policy. No common sense from customer service, just a complete rip off. Wish I'd read these reviews before.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

This service is advertised as free, but it is not. The QR code works briefly, then you are told it will be deactivated unless you pay.

Pricing is misleading. The page presents a low dollar amount that looks like a monthly fee, but the charge is annual. There is no clear monthly option.

I was charged over $200 for a full year when I only needed a QR code for a short period (days, not months). Once charged, the company refused to reduce the term, prorate, or refund, despite minimal use.

Multiple users report the same pattern:
Advertised as free short trial forced annual payment no refund.

This is misleading advertising and a material omission of billing terms. I do not recommend this service.

I am extremely disappointed with this service.

I tried to access my account in order to cancel my subscription, but login has been impossible for months. The website states that no account exists with my email address.

I contacted support by email on May 7th, 2025, and received no reply. Recently, I received an automatic response saying my email was in their spam folder and that I should create a support ticket. However, the provided link only redirects to a FAQ page, with no option to contact support or create a ticket.

Despite this, my Mastercard was charged again in October 2025 without my consent and without any practical way to cancel the subscription.

I am still waiting for:
- access to my account,
- cancellation of my subscription,
- a refund of the latest charge.

I hope the company will finally contact me and resolve this situation.

This company uses very unethical practices from start to finish. I have never used a QR creator website and didn't think to research scammy ones(which is totally on me, I know). QR Code Creator (qrcodecreator.com) intentionally traps you into paying $133 for a year's subscription by using a classic bait and switch involving a promise of a "free" QR code, fine print and deceptive pricing. Very few people would need a subscription to a QR code generator for an entire year, which they clearly know. A week after you create your "free" QR code, they start to send you daily emails saying that your code will expire if you don't purchase a subscription. Then they present a classic monthly subscription service only to charge you for the full year. I paid with Amex and got an alert 5 minutes after this company charged me. I immediately contacted qrcodecreator.com through their website chat to cancel the subscription and get a refund for the 11 months I didn't need and they strung me along through email for 2 days before finally saying they couldn't refund my money because it wasn't fair to other customers. Additionally, I can no longer access this companies homepage, which is VERY shady. When I try to go to their website, it takes me directly to my subscription, so I can't take a picture of how they originally worded their "free" QR code offer. Fortunately, American Express was very understanding of the situation (though they couldn't dispute the charge) and created a customer alert for this unethical company. I will find every review site for this company and leave a scathing review and will also make a complaint to the BBB. To be clear, the product they offer (a QR code generator) actually exists, but they use shady practices to get your money.

Super deceiving marketing and completely unclear pricing. I actually had multiple accounts with them, and on a newer one they charged almost double the monthly fee (even though the publicly displayed pricing shows the other price). Support is very dismissive and continuously sends a templated response that does not answer the questions you ask.

Furthermore, their Terms of Service clearly state a refund can be requested by EU residents within the first 14 days after purchasing if not used, and of course they completely turn a blind eye to that.

All said and done, any company that puts things in writing to later completely ignore those and not honor what they say (or write), is probably not one you want to associate with or give money to.

There are also plenty of other cheaper (and even free) options that are much better.

I signed up for their service and did not know they will not refund on a prorated basis so I did a full year and cancelled after one month thinking I would get some of the unused payment back but NO, they will not refund the unused portion of money and they only communicate via email. Basically they scammed me out of over $100 since I only used 30 days of service and paid $133 year in full. Just what ever you do, please do not use them.

This company is a scam
November 26, 2025

They use misleading practices (dark patterns) to make it appear as though you can create a QR code for free they then email you that your QR code will expire and you must pay to keep it. This was after I had already printed the QR code on a few posters so I thought I'd sign up for a month. The purchasing page makes it appear that you are buying a monthly subscription, but they bill you annually. I was billed $133 for the need of a single QR code! Even after cancelling my account the same day they refuse a refund.

Misleading practices
November 22, 2025

BEWARE! Only a few days after I created my "free" QR code on this site, I was informed that I would have to pay to keep it live. By this time, I had no choice, as the code was already on printed posters. Then, the monthly advertised rate turned out to be a required annual payment, which was charged without prior confirmation. This company uses misleading practices around costs, with details hidden in the fine print. Don't be fooled.
