Went on their website for the first time and bought a humidifier (learned after buying it is from China). See what happened when I used it:

Wrote to Qoo10 for a replacement. They asked for a video to send to their supplier and after sometime, finally wrote to say the replacement is on its way. Waited for more than 3 weeks and it still has not arrived. Went on Q0010's site to ask when will it be arriving and found a message from their supplier asking us to ship the defective humidifier to them in China for a replacement! The cost would have been more than the price of the humidifier from Q0010!

Wrote again to Qoo10 to inform them about the situation and received no reply. I now realised that Qoo10 has no aftersales service to remedy any problems that might arise from a lemon purchase. They will just palm you off to the supplier from wherever they maybe eg China, Vietnam, etc. And these suppliers may be dubious in the way they handle a defective product order. Basically, there is no after-sales service as you will be led on a merry-go-round.

This is my first and last order with QooI0. I am staying with Amazon whose after-sales service is reliable and super efficient. Amazon's customer satisfaction is faultless.

Went to buy goods and payment took ages. I suddenly realised the huge security risks of using a site, with a 20-90 min processing time for payment displayed on site which could allow anyone to hijack my payment details.
Am worried they have my card details.
They also disclaim liability for any losses.
Yahoo and ebay are their partners.

Most merchants there do not have any items for sale at their stated price. Too many sellers list low prices on the main page then provide so-called "options", however you're not given a choice but to select one - eg, color - or the transaction can't continue. Then they'll bump up the price with any and every selection.

Another common trick is to list one item - eg, phone case - at a low price, then on the option page, you find the low price is actually for something else altogether and you have to top up considerable amounts for the case "options".

I've written to the Qoo10 admin about these practices and their reply was essentially for me to go elsewhere if I don't like it.

With dubious merchants, rampant iffy practices and site admin who do not care about customers, I would strongly advice anyone looking for safe online purchases to go elsewhere.

Check the reputation of the seller in the site, to friends who've never bought from him, most of the sellers on this site are the intermediaries, they order goods from china site and they take a lot of advantage of your transaction, many sellers on this site is a con,
Been ordered on one vendor, an RC toy, the seller claims to be a high quality European products, paying shipping costs for express package is expensive, the seller promises the goods received after 3 days, it turns out I received the goods 35 days later, and the item was derived from china websites, which provide free shipping service, I was fooled by the merchants of my country, I pay the price and shipping cost is very expensive,
