The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

Looked for a rental car for a 2 week trip to Italy and opted to use Priceline. We have used EuropCar in the past and wish I had this time. Agreed to a price (which was not that special) and picked up the car.
The receipt from Avis was $380 more than the price that Priceline said that we were getting. I initially engaged in a chat/text and they indicated that I would not be charged more than my agreed upon price. Then of course they did not honor that. I just do not see the point in using Priceline as opposed to going direct and having some recourse.
I used priceline to book my hotel for my birthday in Vegas. Decided to use expressed deals selected 4 star paid for my hotel then saw what hotel they pick. They picked a 3 star hotel located on a sketchy area of the strip. I tried to cancel and they refused. They even lied about a manager giving me a call back several times.
First time booking with Priceline, I finally booked a VACA package and immediately received an email stating the hotel wasn't available so I called Priceline and was on the phone for 1.5 hrs trying to get another hotel. I suggested canceling the entire reservation to go with Expedia or CostcoTravel but they couldn't do it. The rep was polite but was required to read exclusions/rules, one after another. Never again.
Booked a car with Priceline on line from Canada, for Romania, for $ 1.100, when i got the car the contract was with MOBICAR SRL BUCHAREST, they charged a deposit of $ 4.900 ( if i have no accidents with the car which i did NOT i will get back $ 4.900) and now they are not refunding me back the $ 4.900.
I GOT CHARGED $ 6.000 for a small car for 5 weeks. Never ever again.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
I have used priceline in the past without many issues. This last time I needed to cancel my reservation and their website would not let me cancel. It stated I was not charged so no cancelation. My bank app showed I was charged. I called priceline over and over and was never able to speak to a person. I called the hotel to cancel. They stated they cannot due to ordered through a third party. I then called my bank, explained then disputed the charges. This was all on the same day.
Almost three months later my bank calls me back and states the charges will stand.
They did not listen to this was all brought up on the same day. Prior to the reservation. I will never again use priceline. I am also closing the credit card account with Wells Fargo which I have had for over twenty years. And run $4k to $6k a month on. Both companies are thieves.
Price line mess up my flight me and mt granddaughter changed my flight from a am flight to a pm flight then would not fix it back told me I aggred very rude told me to wright a bad review it didn't matter they were right I was wrong if I wanted too change 300.00 per iticket
1) terrible business model
2) terrible and misleading policies
3) don't care about the customer
4) not willing to even listen if there is a concern
5) the reason prices are cheaper is because the company is managed by cheap people with no client experience
6) better to pay a little more for a reliable company that has values and principles
7) don't ever prepay, it's a scam. They will not consider even reimbursing or helping you when it's not your fault is you can't pick up a rental car
8) just an all around poor business model as you can see from all the disappointing reviews
9) so disappointed with my experience, will never even consider using them again
10) they fail to look at all the facts if something goes wrong with your travel plans, even when they are the airlines fault.
11) Pay more, I promise you that your experience will be much better with another company
If I could give 0 stars I would. DO NOT USE PRICELINE EVER! I booked a flight for myself and my husband in May (2 months before) and received a confirmation email. 24 hours before my flight I signed in to the confirmation email to check in and there was no reservation! After spending 2 hours on the phone with them and the airline company, the outcome was that the airline company said priceline cancelled our reservation and it was "purged" from the system (hard deleted) and didn't send us a message about this or notify us in any way. We were under the impression for 2 months that we had a flight and then the day before nothing existed and no record of it anywhere. This led to a domino effect of internal flights, hotels, rental cars, all being cancelled or not being refundable. All they could say is "sorry ma'am" and that's it! Worst experience ever. Also we asked if this happened before and they said "I've seen this 2 times in 2 years" So it was our bad luck, but if it happened before it will eventually happen again! DO NOT USE PRICELINE EVER!
Personally had a very distressing experience and judging by additional reviews, I'm not the only one!
I strongly suggest that you don't book with this company.
My experience has resulted in loss of funds and loss of booking. The phrase 'daylight robbery' holds resonance here!
I made a car rental reservation via Priceline for June 29 at the Guadalajara, Mexico, airport. The day of the arrival the rental company didn't have a car for me and my family (minivan) under different excuses. They offered me TWO cars for ONE driver, really? I was forced to take Uber to go to my destination because my local family couldn't pick me up since I was supposed to have a car for my family. Priceline and the rental company are denying a refund for taking Uber ($41). Don't do business with this company, they will leave stranded if they can and won't do anything to help you. Horrible experience.
We booked a car rental and when we arrived at the airport we took a shuttle bus to their office and they told us that their system is down. We asked them if we could come a pick up the car the next day and they told us that the best thing we could is to cancel the reservation, go back to the airport and try to find another rental company cause they dont know when their system would be back. The result we hd to pay an extremely high price to rent a car cause it was last minute
If i could give this company a 0 star rating i would. I signed up for a car rental to be picked up at Harry Reid Airport in Las Vegas. When we arrived we were told a shuttle would take us to to car rental location. No shuttle was provided and we had to take a Uber to the car rental location which was not even in Las Vegas it was in Summerlin. Impossible to contact any a human being at Priceline. Will never use them again but I am sure they do not care.
After entering all the pertinent inf on the website it leads you to the price.
When we swiped back to look at others it accepted it and charged the full amount to our credit card. We called them instantly to report the error.
Many calls to this bogus group with no assistance and they kept 358$
We called numerous times, they gave us a customer support email that responded with a pre set blow you off msg.
What a bunch of crooks. STAY OFF THIS SITE!
Rented a non-refundable compact car thru Priceline (a third party) and when I got to Fox car rental, there were no compact cars available and had to pay $20/day plus fees/tax extra for an upgrade because Fox car rental policy does not give free upgrades if customer rents thru third parties like Priceline (at least that's what they told me). Fox car rental policy warns not to rent thru third parties, like Priceline, but rather straight thru the car rental because third parties do not have list of live inventory of cars available and cannot guarantee rental availability, and reserving straight thru Fox car rental will guarantee you a free car upgrade if car is unavailable (something Priceline does not tell you). Unfortunately, when I called Priceline to dispute the upgrade charge, Priceline did not want to take responsibility for their false advertisement. Priceline says they can get you car rental of your choice and for the lowest price but be warned, it is not GUARANTEED and not always for the lowest price.
I arranged for a rental car via Priceline recently prior to a trip to Portland, Oregon. A couple of days after arranging for the four day rental (which I pre-paid via Priceline's website), I flew to Portland and finally arrived at the Thrifty Car Rental counter to pick up the car. After providing the Thrifty representative with my confirmation number, he told me that I (and my rental reservation) were not in their system.
He then told me that my best bet would be to call Priceline directly for assistance with this issue. I went ahead and called Priceline (after waiting a few minutes for a call-back), and I spoke with a Priceline customer service person who I could barely understand (he was obviously not from the U.S.).
After describing my issue with him, he said that the only thing he could do was to cancel my existing reservation, and that Priceline would promptly refund my money (which they did). He also said that I would need to go online and make ANOTHER reservation, which I reluctantly did on my Iphone. This time, I made the reservation with National Car Rental, who's counter was close the Thrifty's counter at the PDX airport.
Because of the above, I will no longer do business with Priceline...
The pricing for the four day rental with National was $150. More than the original reservation with Thrifty, but I went ahead with it thinking that going with National was likely going to be a better experience than going with Thrifty (which it was).
Leaned our lesson...never book anything with priceline...
Nightmare to deal with if there has to be a cancelation, even if it's beyond your control.
Lost time and money
We booked hotel through priceline and needed to cancel one night due to UK train strike. And they would not cancel, refund or rebook even though the hotel agreed.
ZERO RATING. WILL NEVER USE PRICELINE AGAIN AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE. LEFT STRANDED AT THE RENT A CAR COUNTER AT 12 AM BECAUSE NO CARS WERE AVAILABLE. PRICELINE CUSTOMER SERVICE WOULD NOT HELP US. WE LOST OUR EVENING PLANS, WE DIDN'T GET TO A HOTEL UNTIL 2 AM BECAUSE OF THIS. WE LOST TIME THE NEXT DAY GETTING A RENT A CAR FROM ANOTHER COMPANY. STAFF WAS UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE AND DID NOTHING TO HELP US MAKE ANOTHER ARRAINGMENTS. HOLD TIMES WITH PRICE LINE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE AT PRICELINE DID NOT HELP EITHER, STILL WAITING ON REFUND AS I WRITE THIS REVIEW. WE WILL NEVER EVER EVER USE PRICELINE AGAIN. YOU LOST A VIP CUSTOMER FOR LIFE. NICE JOB PRICELINE!

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a booking site. Normally, I use Expedia and decided to try Priceline because it was recommended to me. Well I will never use this misleading site again! I am very disappointed that no accommodations could be made to assist me in correcting an issue that their site fraudulently caused! First, you lock me into a booking where no changes could be made on top of booking me at the wrong hotel when your link for the specific hotel I chose which was supposed to be the correct link but after I made my payment is when I realized that the link was incorrect. However, charges will be disputed because of this fraudulent mess!
Priceline sent us multiple emails confirming our flight and hotel even up to the day of our check-in. Some emails were from Booking.com as well as Pricing.com, which was confusing. However, since they had the same confirmation # and information, I never questioned it.
The hotel did not have any record of our reservation. We tried to reach Priceline, but had to leave a message instead of talk to a rep! We called multiple times before someone called us back. (It took over an hour to get ahold of someone at Priceline or Booking.com to help us! This is totally unacceptable.) Priceline blamed Booking.com and told us to call them. Well, the same thing happened with Booking.com -- we were forced to leave a message and wait for a call back. The hotel staff finally called Booking.com through the private number. The Booking.com rep hung up on the staff the first time, for reasons unknown. Then when our hotel host got hold of another Booking.com rep, she could not get a straight answer on why they never sent the reservation to the hotel. They argued about a cancellation fee, even though the hotel would have gladly accepted our reservation if Booking.com could have pushed it through right then. However, while the hotel rep was on the phone with Booking.com, I received an email from Booking.com that my reservations were canceled due to no availibilty at the hotel! What? The hotel had a room available. Long story short, we had to book directly with the hotel. This was such a disappointing experience. Never again will I use Priceline or Booking.com.
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
