Great help at the parts counter via phone. The Carbon Monoxide Detector Product Description is not clear.
One is flush mount, which I believe is where the entire enclosure of the product is recessed within the wall.
The surface mount, I believe, is where the product projects from the surface and the mounting flange is at the back of the product.

I had the type with the flange in the back of the unit, and thought that was 'flush mount'. So I ordered tha product (2). When the box arrived I tossed the old ones in the trash and when I got the box open and ready to mount, I found out, which ever one I ordered it was the wrong one. The old ones were gone and so I took some double sided foam tape and stuck them to the wall. You really need to clarify this difference and show photos of each type to prevent this from reocureing.

Over all great product, time will tell as to wear.
I ended up calling customer service because I received the incorrect order. I was told that they would re-send the correct order and pick up the incorrect order.
I have used PPL before and was well satisfied just like now I have purchased everything from camper air conditioner to now these lid shocks. How satisfied am I? Completely.
Price and shipping are great
Quick and easy, exactly what I was looking for. $10 to ship a plastic valve that weights nearly nothing, seems a little expensive.
