We monitor reviews for authenticity
First of all - Poshmark takes wayyy too much commission… the shipping is outrageous for 1-3 day priority (there is no guarantee that the seller will even ship within that time frame). Many items will be listed as new and arrive in terrible shape (worn out, dirty, broken clasps, etc) and you CANNOT return them. Also… some sellers will claim authenticity and then send you a completely different item. Customer service does NOT investigate and the sellers are always argumentative.
I used to sell a lot on the app and would frequently purchase random, hard to find items no longer in stores. I no longer sell ANYTHING and RARELY make any purchases any longer.
The market is SO oversaturated now as well, it's almost impossible to sell anything in late 2023. I think it's hilarious… I just literally saw a commercial for Poshmark stating how "fabulous" buying and selling on the platform can be. It made me chuckle.
Sell your items elsewhere! Buyer beware!
I mostly sell on Poshmark. I generally have no issues, and have never used support as a seller. They take more fees than selling on Mercari.
As a buyer, I've had mostly horrible experiences. I have purchased items a total of three time. One time, everything came a described and nicely packaged. Second time, the seller posted the wrong size about the items (they were considerably smaller) and sent kids shoes that were very dirty. The entire insoles were white from dog hair. I don't know how they consciously packed those up and sent them.
My second purchase from Poshmark was for a total of 3 women's clothing items. Every single item had a hole or stains. Completely noticeable.
Poshmark did accept my return request both times and after I shipped the item back, and it was checked by the seller, I got my money back. I'm not buying from there anymore.
I bought a leather jacket from *******@Randirandi_22. When I received it, it was shoved into a small book box, completely wrinkled and had a stench of strong cologne. She admitted to washing it in the washing machine with detergent, after I received it. It was not disclosed at all in her description or at all with the questions I asked. Had I known I would never have bought it. What person washes a leather jacket in the washing machine with detergent! So I made a claim with Poshmark with pics of the wrinkled jacket, and mentioned the stench of what I thought was cologne. The same jacket was sold at Nordstrom, but my size was sold out, so I knew what it should look like. I even provided Poshmark the photo of what it's supposed to look like, and cleaning instructions for the same jacket which clearly said professional leather cleaner. Today they ruled in her favor. I cannot even believe it!
I am new to Poshmark and they deleted my closet without telling me why. I sent messages to customer support; however, no one responded back concerning why the items in my closet have disappeared. In addition, I am no longer able to follow other poshers or repost items to my closet. It seems that I have been punished for something I am not aware of and Poshmark refuses to tell me what happened in order for me to correct it as someone who is new to the platform. If this is how Poshmark treat those new to the platform, I will go to other reputable platforms with better customer service.
Impossible to verify me, 5 hours in chat with rude people who constantly blamed me for not following their instructions right. Technical support is terrible. I had to call my bank back and forth to confirm test transactions. Still not resolved, I will try again tomorrow. Now I can't try on my own because of Error 404 that keeps popping.
My buyers risk having their accounts and money frozen because if a problem is not resolved in 24 hours, assets are frozen (risk of scam)
What a terrible experience.
As a buyer Poshmark does not allow returns. If you are not satisfied with your item you are stuck with it. I ordered a pair of jeans, I am very familiar with this brand of jean. When I received my order they did not fit like any Miss Me jeans. I have size 26 and 27's that fit better than the size 28 jeans that I couldn't button. I emailed Poshmark to get a reply that they were protecting their sellers. That tells me that buyers must beware. I lost a quick hundred dollars.
I started a Poshmark account so I could sell a few things. I made 1 listing for a doll, then a few hours later tried to make another listing and I received "sorry you cannot perform this request" message and to reach out to CS. They claim they'll get back to you within 24 hours which is a joke. I waited a week and no response. Sent a second email also not answered. I have no idea why my account would be flagged not allowing me to list anything. The doll I did list was nothing special so I can't imagine what was wrong. Needless to say I deleted my account since their CS doesn't exist. They don't even deserve 1 star.
They make it sound like they have a great refund policy. Nope, lie. There is no customer service. No refund or exchanges, even if the seller okay's it. You'll get a email from Poshmark saying the discerption is correct and you can repost the item if you want but no refund. They don't care if the item is correct or not. They do not have a live person to talk to. They only email. It's terrible to spend money and the products is not as expected and then to be told the description is correct by the host and no refund but repost it. Don't buy from this site. You've been warned.
No chance to return "not as described" item. Posh takes high % of sale and not willing to loose it.
The rain jacket was missing a hood. I was told that the Seller didn't write that the hood was included
I purchased an article of clothing, the photos that were shown were ok and the description was ok so I ordered it, from the website. When I received it, it was obviously damaged. I'm still trying to to return it and get a refund before their time limit of 72 hrs runs out. I am the one getting the run around. The seller is not helpful, I can't talk to anyone, they don't accept phone calls, they want a photo but their system won't let me send a photo. By email I get a message saying I have to download their app to return the item to get a refund. I don't want their app, I didn't order from their app. I will never order from Poshmark again. Stay away from them. Update-I FINALLY was able to return the jeans and get a refund but the time I had to spend and the hassle and the aggravation I had to go through was ridiculous. Never again
Purchased some jeans that didn't fit right. Contacted the seller. He said he would accept a return but wanted me to go thru Poshmark to process it. Fair enough. Poshmark would not assist in the return. Got two (so far) generic emails stating why they wouldn't help with the return.
I recently bought 2 shirts. When I got them they didn't fit. Poshmark not the seller decided I could not return them for a refund. They charge really high taxes on used clothing and shoes. So when they add on the shipping and taxes it is expensive and you could buy new. They also charge the sellers 20% on everything they sell
They do not show when purchasing that they do not accept size returns. Every other website accept size returns. So you are stuck with a size that does not fit!
Main Description said XL. The actual size was something called 1XL which does not exist with most brands. I asked for return and I was declined. NEVER AGAIN AM I SHOPPING ON POSHMARK. RIP-OFF!
So I bought a blouse, it was in no way the size purchased. I reported this and they wanted proof. The seller had a picture with the size. Other than that I could not prove, I wanted to return, (no returns) They give you a few days to prove and decide. Long story short - after the deadline for some unknown reason, I think I was cutting it up, I see that the seller had taken it in 6 inches on each side! So it was altered, falsly advertised, but after the deadline and I started cutt9ing it to find some use for it. All I have to say is "All sales are final" "be careful what you get" and all sellers are liars just trying to pawn off their garbage.
I've successfully shopped at Poshmark many times. However, if there is any dispute at all with a seller, buyers will lose out. Try Mercari or any of the other sites.
Beware of selling expensive items on Poshmark because of scammer buyers. Poshmark will always side with buyer if an item mysteriously goes missing, i.e., mail carrier must have taken item from box! Have had 2 very expensive items disappear and Poshmark has no insurance or reimbursement for seller. They just assume buyer is telling the truth.
I ordered a size medium shirt that was supposed to have a bust size of 36 to 38 inches, the shirt itself measured 31 inches in the bust but Poshmark refused a return for the item not as described. They also block you from resolving with the seller. Scam business.
I asked a question to a seller. The seller then offered a lower price and lower shipping. I accepted the lower price. I would not gave purchased the item otherwise. I was charged the original price and regular shipping. I notified Poshmark immediately. I didn't hear back from them after several emails. I emailed a different department and finally heard back from someone. They said there was nothing they could do, which is obviously not true. I went back and forth several times and they refused to fix it for me. They do not allow you to talk to the seller direct. Very disappointed in Poshmark and their non existent customer service.
They lost or shipped my package to the wrong address and then told me they would not request a signature unless it was $400. They want me to file a police report for a package they lost?! I'm out $300 and there is zero customer service. Buyer beware. Go spend your money somewhere else that is safer.
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
