The overall reputation of Plenty of Fish (POF) is largely negative, with customers expressing significant dissatisfaction regarding the quality of profiles and user interactions. Common concerns include a high prevalence of fake profiles, rudeness, and entitlement among users, particularly women, who are perceived as unrealistic in their dating expectations. Many reviews highlight poor customer service, including issues with account management and a lack of effective support. While some users acknowledge the site's potential for connecting singles, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that POF has declined in quality and user experience, leading many to seek alternatives.

I have contacting plenty of fish numerous times someone made a fake profile of me and the refuse to delete it i think the company is terrible and im telling everyone and there mother till the remove that profile im highly upset and im about to seek my lawyer to sue for damages and defermition of charactor
I've had a profile for a few years now and use the site irregularly. In this time I've met one girl who was on the rebound from her boyfriend of many years who dumped her because he turned out to be gay, so she clearly just wanted to meet guys and mess around.
I've exchanged numbers with a number of other girls who never wanted to meet, so a complete waste of time.
I'd say because of the high volume of men even the mediocre girls can be very fussy with who they respond to.
If you have a distinctive look e. G fit into a sub-culture such as emo, rocker, goth or whatever, don't even expect girls of a similar look or background to respond to you as I've experienced. They can meet guys like that within their social circle and in actual fact are more likely to hook-up with "Jack the lad" types for something a bit different.
I think unless you put some serious time and effort into browsing and sending messages you get little out of it.
If you are simply using the site as a means of augmenting other firms of dating and meeting girls then just keep it as such.
Full of time wasters, single mothers and though I hate to say it a lot of damaged goods. Every girl I've spoke to has issues with ex boyfriends etc.
Plus a lot have ridiculous expectations when they have little to offer themselves.
I'm a university graduate with a decent enough job, intelligent, good chat, good looking enough, lots of interests and hobbies etc and yet get little results with the site.
So if you are looking for someone stick to meeting them when you go out.
Hi. The whole online now thing is so invasive of my privacy. I don't want guys knowing I'm online and there is no way to turn it off. So when I get a date and then that person sees me afterwards online, they think I'm still looking. I like to check my messages because I'm curious, so what! And the whole, see when this person was online and what times is totally no ones business.
Some of these guys are not willing to meet in a safe public place. One man immediately started asking me for sex, without even knowing my real true first name; & NOT wanting to meet me FIRST in person. Another guy requested that I immediately go to his house>& I have no clue at all what this jerk is truly like in person, & for real or in reality!>to me that is very CREEPY as hell. Another guy posted a pic that was at least 20 to 25 years old minimum. I have been so disappointed by online dating!:-( To me, online dating does seem to be full of "not worth it men" unfortunately for us women.:-(
POF snoops on your correspondences and passes judgment. Yes, they read your emails and if they don't like them they judge and delete you. We are adults and individuals should be able to communicate as adults. POF sucks!
So plenty of fish has a rule in fine print that you can not contact people 14 or more years younger than you. I complained to Apple Corp and got my money back. I asked them to take me off the site. They did and then I got a message from a pretty woman more than 14 years younger than me. The scammers at plenty of fish wanted me to upgrade AGAIN to write to her when they know I can't because she is 51 -- too young. Puritans run this site. Probably they will say it's to protect women. My desired contacts were 40 to 50. Adult women. They send me messages and I can't return them because of pof rules. Beware of this and their attempts to scam you later. Thank you apple for refunding my money
I don't like your company your not customer friendly at all Its very frustrating and difficult to deal with people without a live person to talk to its just not right there should always be a live person to talk to when having problems jogging on.it really angers me and I will report you to the labor bord. I don't recommend this Dateing Site these people are difficult to deal with and I don't like all those passcode to usernames its not Necessary at all.
Ok guys, you want to take dating more serious you should join a prime dating site like Mingle2day or maybe even Match. But if you wanna spend a little time chatting w/people POF is a fun place. Like I said, in my opinion you won't find your next serious relationship on POF but you will get to know some people and you will have a fun time.
POF known as plenty of fish.com is a so called dating/social media website but in all honesty its full of these kind of people whom are just after whats in your wallet or what they can exploit from you sexually. The rest will demand things like pics of you and other demands in general. Nearly all are so up there own arses whom think they're it and they're something special but really are just the dreg's of our society really just plain nasty vile users on plenty of fish id seriously warn others
I met like 7 guys on here, the 6 one I went out for a month, ended up back with his X girlfriend if she was his X who knows. 7th guy, first 2 months I thought I met the most awesome man, so I thought "YIKES" His true colors started flying out, or should I say his mask slipped, 100% NARCISSIST, CRAZY WOULD NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER, VERBALLY ABUSIVE, THEN BECAME AN INTRUSIVE FREAK! SHOWING UP AT MY HOUSE, UNINVITED, THEN TURNED STALKER. HAD TO GET POLICE INVOLVED, STILL STALKS ME. PERIODICALLY, NO MORE ONLINE FOR ME. POF MORE LIKE- PLENTY OF FREAKS.COM
I am an attractive midlle aged woman with a great career and interesting life... and i have only met either 1) men with nothing in common with me or 2) scammers... one profile was fake and when I exchanged numbers with the man he admitted he was not the guy in the profile! I would not recommend this site if you want to find normal, nice guys to date!
I previously gave it a 4 but I'm thinking I should have waited a day or 2 more, they should also put a mandatory work section on there where people must list either real occupation or disability. I'm not dating a guy who can work and won't, you need to do the right thing and stop deceiving folks about your work status! No proof of job, no date with me! I work you need to work
POF is great. I use it once in a while to do a little chatting and flirting. If you seriously want to find a relationship you need to use prime dating sites like Mingle2day.com or Match.com (but I personally like Mingle2day much more). But POF is a nice site to have a fun time. A nice kind of "time spender"
I tried out this site because I had heard so many mixed reviews from people I knew and online reviews. Omg. Save your time and stay away. If your looking for an easy, if yet more than questionable hook-up with people I wouldn't want to meet under any circumstance, perhaps this is the right place for you.
Whether your looking for friendship, casual, love, etc... I'd suggest doing a little research and finding another site with higher expectations.
Many fake profiles using profile pictures they've stolen off real peoples LinkedIn, facebook, Twitter accounts but also the more obvious ones use American football players, actors, models etc... when you report them to pof nothing appears to happen as the accounts remain active.
Keep yourself safer by searching profile pictures on an image search engine like Google Image or tineye, it's better than relying on pof to weed out the fakes!
When u get one 5 times a day there's something wrong. Just picture some nasty dude pounding on a keyboard sweating his $#*! off. With Cheetos in his hand. Run while u can
Don't go on there all the men want is someone to take of them.
POF has many more men then woman. 7:1 I've read. From my dates I've heard many of the men are just bad. (Like asking the women about their sex life at times on the first email). For the women this is a dating site. Meet them first then ask them all the marriage questions you have. POF if someone doesn't have a face pic they are married, have a girlfriend/boyfriend or are in jail. Every profile should have a face picture.
Answer: Oh yes, they want you to upgrade and pay! But when you pay you will see these profiles who you liked or who liked you disappear. They were nothing but bait-and-switch. You gain nothing when you pay, it's the silliest way to spend money. Are you looking for hook up or relationship? I wanted a relationship and I was really frustrated by Pof. Eventually I found what I was looking for on https://j4l.com/402007 But I've lost nearly a year on Pof. Not to mention emotional drain and money!
Answer: I just deactivated my account. This site is a sewer. Do not pay anything for this site or any site. I searched for free on other site( even paid ones you can search for free) and I saw the same guys on most of the other sites as well. I'm gonna grow old alone unless luck steps in and maybe I'll meet my guy IRL.
Answer: Yes its possible
Answer: Delete AND contact the company. If you know who took your pictures be sure to include the name on the profile that your pictures were used on, so they can deal with that person. Once you have deleted your profile, everything is GONE. I have never had anybody use my pictures on any other sites. I'm no great beauty, that could be the reason, Still, once your profile is deleted, everything is gone.
Answer: You cannot do it from the mobile site. You need to use your search, example safari and look up pof desktop version and go to the help in the top left. It will walk you thru it, if I remember correctly. Good luck
Answer: First, write to POF and explain. Now, and I mean NOW call up your credit card company and tell them what happened. I am sure POF will not contact you. Make sure to use the word "unacceptable" when describing the consumer service to the CC company about POF. Keep all emails too. Please keep me posted. Thanks Ann B.
Answer: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING SITE! Any good you hear from or about it... DUH ITS THE SCAMMERS THAT WORK FOR EM. I been booted so many times due to unpopularity cuz i wont date trash so i get booted they keep your money they are garbage
Answer: Fake doesn't really describe them... more like downright liars!
Answer: Golden rule #1: Do onto others as you would have them do unto you Golden rule #2: Anything that sounds to good to be true, is not. Golden rule #3: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Answer: POF is not free at all, you have to upgrade; become a paying member to be able to do anything interesting.
