The overall reputation of Plenty of Fish (POF) is largely negative, with customers expressing significant dissatisfaction regarding the quality of profiles and user interactions. Common concerns include a high prevalence of fake profiles, rudeness, and entitlement among users, particularly women, who are perceived as unrealistic in their dating expectations. Many reviews highlight poor customer service, including issues with account management and a lack of effective support. While some users acknowledge the site's potential for connecting singles, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that POF has declined in quality and user experience, leading many to seek alternatives.

I put my profile on pof with no picture. I got hits even went out on one date and met on terrific guy. The one that i went out on a date with wanted sex afterwards, told him to hit the road. The second guy was real nice, we hit it off and are friends. I started to talking to a guy close to me. We emailed, facebook, and viber for 4 days then out of the blue he wantef a 100 dollar itunes card. I told him no and to go somewhere i wont mention on site. This dating site has rude men and when they see me its either sex or they see me as a bank. Not worth your time. To many ugly men on this site.
So this website suckz all the men on here is looking for one night stands. They don't want real relationship. I met a guy recently online and we we're talking back and fourth for about three months. And we text every day. Send pictures to one another. And just to make things accurate so he wouldn't be surprised who I was we tango chat, for three weeks, we meet in person then after one date he ghost me, had to reach out to him to figure out. Things idk what happened he just wasn't interested in me after one date. He lied stayed it was distance he couldn't do in a relationship. Men on this website are dissapering acts or scum. I wouldn't recommend if your looking for love try an dating website! Like eharmony. People on here like to play games and just want sex
I've used POF on and off for several years. Paid service, and free service. The free service used to be really good. Paying for it opened up a few more features, but didn't make it a much better value to be a paid subscriber. In the past months I have noticed features being removed from the free subscription. Obviously, to be made available on the paid subscription. This is lame and greedy. How about leaving the great free subscription alone, and restoring the renoved features, and improving upon your paid subscription service? If I'm going to have to pay for a good dating site, I recommend Match.com.
This revolting site is filled with the worst human rubbish I have ever seen in my life, 99.9% ugly, disgusting, no class, white trash skanks. In this current graceless age that is your typical North American Caucasian woman, basically the most undesirable skanks on the face of the earth. Good riddance!
Thanks to Plenty of Fish, I am enjoying my first psycho stalker. Thankfully we never went out, he just has my cell phone number and is having a wonderful time blowing up my phone with inappropriate messages and pics.
I have been on and off POF for several years. God help you if you are looking for a decent educated gentleman over 50 who is not wanting to dating 25 year old females. Most are married men, losers, drug addict, liars, and general low life slime balls. If you are lucky enough to meet a kind educated one, most likely you will find he is looking for a quick roll in the hay and off to the next victim. Many of the males on there have severely over-inflated egos and think they are god's gift to women, but they must have borrowed the wicked queens magic mirror as most were nothing to look at. After being on several different dating sites I realize on line dating attracts the bottom of barrel, social misfits, drug addict, alcoholics, jobless and homeless losers or married men seeking sex. Its fun once you figure this out, but a complete waste of time if you are seeking a true gentleman to date. 4 thumbs down as a dating site.
If you read their website literature they tout that they are one of the top sites, if they consider spamming people with profiles of people that don't match your desires, then they are correct. They may even be the tops. They kept sending me the same people over and over. I contacted one of them that the site said was interested in meeting me. She said that she never indicated she wanted to meet me. Don't waste your time or money, I took my profile down in less than a week and asked if they would refund the unused part of what I paid for. They said no we don't do refunds, well of course you don't because you are scamming people, then why have an area to request a refund if you don't give them? Again save your time and money. Go else where and look for a match.
Stay away from this site or at least do not upgrade your membership! There is no customer service at all, either on the phone or via email, and they will not help you with any access problems if you cannot get into your account because of a password problem. I paid for an upgrade and then they "lost" my account and I received none of the benefits that I paid for!
I decided after a few years of being single to venture into the Cyber Dating World. I joined POF to "dip my toe into the pool" (wastewater is a better adjective). I actually JOINED- as in PAID subscription for 30 days. I live in the 8th largest city in the United States. I selected a 75 mile radius of men in my OWN age group without attention to income and average build within a 20 year range of my age. The site boasts millions of users and they can't come up with 100 or even 50 men that match my LOW expectations. The site also suggested for me to meet BOTH men AND women. POF kept changing my searches to 400 miles, because they lacked enough matches for me. Really? How does this site stay in business? I want a refund!
Predictably, after Match.com purchased PoF, it has been converted it a poorly-designed cash machine. For example:
1. It is no longer possible to search profiles according to name, if you haven't forked out the membership fee.
2. So I explain at the top of my profile, that if ladies wish to contact me, then they must directly write me.
3. Over the past two days, I have received three "wants to meet you" messages... as if their authors never read my explanations and instructions.
4. Just before all of this nonsense started, a "wants to meet you" message appeared from a profile featuring an 18-year old bimbo who claimed to have a PhD.
Summarizing: if you don't want to fork out the money, then PoF has the same value as Match.com without fees (very little). Judging from what others have written here, if you pay the fees, the "buyer beware"!
I've actually corresponded with reasonable women over Craigslist (no they weren't prostitutes)
.. It never posted. I made a full profile with complete info and requirements to see what it's like. It never got posted. I emailed, sent feedback and got nothing. That so called "support number"... it's a canned message system. I wanted to see if POF could have a better chance at being decent than others. Well I guess I found out. I realize that some places can be a rip off, scam or perhaps glitchy but POF seems to be an entity of just complete uncertainty and chance it's going to work if at all.
This was an okay experience for meeting plenty of women, but in my age group (40-50), most women seem unable to commit, and preoccupied with sex.
Don't get me wrong, I love sex, but when a profile says they're looking for a "relationship", it doesn't lead me to believe they're looking for sex. And yet, the majority of women think that sex is first, and the rest might come later.
Seeing as I'm looking for the whole thing, not just sex, the challenge was to find someone who wanted to actually get to know me. In the end, I dated for the better part of a year. I had several offers for sex. I dated one for three months and we indeed enjoyed great sex, but in the end it didn't work. She wasn't available most of the time, and therefore we didn't really get to know each other.
I ended up meeting someone from a social media site instead. We got to know each other first, before the sex. And now, it's simply amazing, sex included.
My bad experience from all of this... I CAN'T EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH! I cancelled my POF account. I thought by cancelling, I'd also be cancelling the billing. Such is NOT the case! A month after I closed my account, my credit card had a charge for six months of premium membership! Wtf?
I wrote an email and they replied with instructions on how to cancel the billing. The problem is that I don't have an account! I can't sign in to cancel the automatic billing, because the account doesn't exist! I replied and they ignored my reply. There is a disclaimer about emails, that they don't answer all of them. That means me that if it helps their bottom line, they'll f*** over whoever they want.
I called my credit card company and they provided me a new credit card.
I did not get a refund for the six months of subscription I can't even use!
It's sad that POF can actually legally commit fraud.
All in all, it's a great meat market, if you're looking to get laid. I don't believe the overtly sexual behavior of women is the fault of website. Society's f'd up in that regard. No wonder there are so many failed relationships!
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER pay for a subscription!
This site can be a hit or miss sometimes so you need a lot of patience. But it is free to use so you may invest some time and sometimes you get rewarded. In my personal opinion nothing compares to Mingle2day and that is the only site where I always end up at the end of the week. But those who don't want to spend any money will be fine using Plenty off Fish with a little patience. Don't expect immediate results.
It is a free site, you can contact users and chat with them, there are no restriction on giving e-mail or phone number, you can block users that you find abusive or otherwise unacceptable, there are plenty of users, much more than on Oasis, so I have found someone locally and we hit it straight away. I met several other man before for a first date or a couple of dates, but it wasn't what I was looking for (or him), so of course it is not a magic site, all depends on you. But beware of sites that take moneys and then you are bombarded by automated messages from fake profiles! Esp local singles.com, mature singles.com, over40 singles.com, widowed singles.com, etc...
I can only give this site a very positive review!
I was on the site for about 2 weeks and met the love of my life!
We are living togheter for a little while now and I've never been happier!
I upgraded with PoF because it stated that I had 17 meet me's and that a lot of members found me attractive, which I also found attractive.
I put in my credit card details and became a member, Low and behold I found that the 17 meet me's vanished, and the members that were supposed to be mutually attracted to had never read my profile (it says so in the persons profile)
I logged out as usual, when I logged in later I was back as a free member again? Is this a scam? No replies have been received from my messages to POF about this matter, the money has been taken from my account.
It does all seem to be a big bit FISHY
Most of the women need to look in the mirror you get the ugly ones saying no one night stands. Look in the mirror love you have no chance unless you put a paper bag over your head picky is not the word...
It used to be a decent site, but since it was bought out by a certain match web site it appears to have been deliberately sabotaged. On their forum there's even a message at the top bragging about how the moderators have no clue how the site works because the admin keeps them in the dark. Profiles get randomly deleted with no notification, although they let you sign up with the same user name and email. This site should be called plenty of phish!
Hey guys how you doing I'm back this time with plenty of fish okay they're pretty decent but here's the catch when you're looking on the profiles at the beginning you see all these real good looking girls and then all of a sudden when you sign on all those girls are gone but when you go to other sites they're there so obviously there using other profiles that are fake to draw you into a purchase be careful or it might be Hook Line & Sinker!
Answer: Oh yes, they want you to upgrade and pay! But when you pay you will see these profiles who you liked or who liked you disappear. They were nothing but bait-and-switch. You gain nothing when you pay, it's the silliest way to spend money. Are you looking for hook up or relationship? I wanted a relationship and I was really frustrated by Pof. Eventually I found what I was looking for on https://j4l.com/402007 But I've lost nearly a year on Pof. Not to mention emotional drain and money!
Answer: I just deactivated my account. This site is a sewer. Do not pay anything for this site or any site. I searched for free on other site( even paid ones you can search for free) and I saw the same guys on most of the other sites as well. I'm gonna grow old alone unless luck steps in and maybe I'll meet my guy IRL.
Answer: Yes its possible
Answer: Delete AND contact the company. If you know who took your pictures be sure to include the name on the profile that your pictures were used on, so they can deal with that person. Once you have deleted your profile, everything is GONE. I have never had anybody use my pictures on any other sites. I'm no great beauty, that could be the reason, Still, once your profile is deleted, everything is gone.
Answer: You cannot do it from the mobile site. You need to use your search, example safari and look up pof desktop version and go to the help in the top left. It will walk you thru it, if I remember correctly. Good luck
Answer: First, write to POF and explain. Now, and I mean NOW call up your credit card company and tell them what happened. I am sure POF will not contact you. Make sure to use the word "unacceptable" when describing the consumer service to the CC company about POF. Keep all emails too. Please keep me posted. Thanks Ann B.
Answer: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING SITE! Any good you hear from or about it... DUH ITS THE SCAMMERS THAT WORK FOR EM. I been booted so many times due to unpopularity cuz i wont date trash so i get booted they keep your money they are garbage
Answer: Fake doesn't really describe them... more like downright liars!
Answer: Golden rule #1: Do onto others as you would have them do unto you Golden rule #2: Anything that sounds to good to be true, is not. Golden rule #3: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Answer: POF is not free at all, you have to upgrade; become a paying member to be able to do anything interesting.
