I've been a paid member for weeks and every week I get a message that says "this week's matches for you" that -- with a click -- takes me to the site itself where I read "no local matches for you this week" and a suggestion that I spend even more money to enhance my profile. I'd say the fact is that the site isn't suited to me but rather than admit that, it continues to try and up-sell. In an industry that is trading on people's emotions and self-esteem, this type of behaviour is particularly insensitive bordering on cruel.

I went on pof at fist for a laugh as my mate said its a good way to get chatting with new people, but then I was messaged by a guy and i met up with him a couple of times and now we have been in a relationship for 3 years now and have a 18 month old boy and so happy in love we are talking about getting married it's mad how you can find love on these sort of sites I just wanted to tell my story so everyone can see that pof is not just full of weirdos you can find love for real hope you find you sole mate soon

I wish I could rate this site a zero. Please be warned that Plenty of Fish dating website has 57% Scammers, rapists, murderers and extremely mentally disturbed people on the site. This is research that was done using police records. And this percentage is really a low number because some police agencies did not allowed the researchers access to their records. I have recently put up a profile on Plenty of Fish and the only response I have gotten so far is Scammers trying to fish my personal information out of me or trying immediately to get my private email and phone number to communicate with them. I did my research on the " The romance scams ". So I was knowledgeable as to what to look for. I also made the mistake last year when I was on a Christian dating site, and gave out my personal phone number. The Scammer to this day still text me trying to establish communication with me. I simply never reply or answer my phone from a questionable number.

The warning signs to look for is when there is a big age gap. Or the profile is of white male in the United States but if you can actually talk to the Scammer he has a heavy African accent and the voice don't match the picture. Also some of these scammers can't write English well. Also they will profess love to you right away. The Scammers target older lonely people. But younger people have been scam too.

Don't believe the pictures you see on the fake profiles because chances are innocent people pictures have been hijacked and used in the fake profiles.

Please do your research for online dating scams and armed yourself with knowledge.
Or else you might be headed for plenty of trouble.

I have been on and off of POF for quite some time. Whenever I tell a man that I am not interested in them, it seems a little while after that, they apparently report me because they don't like being rejected, and POF deletes my profile... If I ran a website like this, I would investigate the reasoning behind the person being reported. I don't post nude pics, nor do I threaten anyone... Apparently there are A LOT of immature, irresponsible guy's on this site...

This is garbage go pay money to a homeless then paying to pof, you will at-least get good wishes...

I was in the middle of filling out the questions, but had to go to work. When I came back, I was unable to log in! Password reset does not send me any link.

There's a list of rules, and when people report you for breaking them, or when the system thinks you might be breaking them. Your account gets deleted without further notice.
It seems to be doing a good job at it blocking most of the bad behaviour, but it's also deleting people with good intentions.

My actual review stops here, since there is nothing more i can review. If you get lucky you might get access, and I hear positive things from the people with access.
There's also a lot of bad reviews, but after reading those I feel that's nothing the site is being to blame, just people having a bad date so "every woman is a youknow" and "every guy only wants your money or is a pig". Oink!

My profile picture might have contained a small piece of my neck, was that too sexual?
The entire site was (badly i must say) translated to Dutch, so deletion because it's not available in/from my country wouldn't make sense.

Or was the question if I wanted to date obese and smoking woman a red flag for deletion?

I've clicked on two profiles that contained no info at all. (haven't even seen a button for messages), was I too greedy looking at two profiles within 10 minutes?

One can only wonder, since i can't contact customer support. There is none :(
