I cannot believe the massive amount of scammers n POF. From foreign nationals to outright fakes who want your phone number or email at hello. It's always the same BS.

They work on an oil rig on the ocean. Or, their widows working as doctors without borders (and with only a Bachelor's degree), Poor English, in a city near you but they are (surprise) working out of the country at the moment. Engineers and doctors with no college or little college but no English skills. LOTS of dead wives lol.

And always a very slow responses to serious and direct questions. That is the first clue that I should just block them. Which I do.

It isn't an accident that POF will not give refunds. If they did we'd all be gone in two weeks and they would have to close the website.

NEVER give out your information at hello and never trust anyone who claims to be working seriously for a relationship but logs off in the middle of a conversation. Or claims they are seldom on the site and want your phone number. They are cheating on someone or working up to rip you off.

I've been on a lot of dating sites over the years, and yes all do get scammers, but this site is the worst I've ever been on. There is even a phone number for them online which is itself a scam. If you can't log on easily they ask for remote access to your computer and magically find a virus (or plant one) and need money from you immediately to fix it. I reported this to POF when I tried to call and they know about it, but of course, are doing nothing about it.

For all the scammers associated with this site, I fear the biggest one is POF itself who takes your money and gives you nothing in the way of support in return.

I will be sure no one I know trusts this site for any reason at all. You shouldn't either.

You have to pay or you can't send messages or see likes. It's misleading when the little counter gives the number of people interested in you but just because someone looked at your profile doesn't mean they are interested. You can't control the distance. Most of my choices are from over 100 miles away. I frequently get "likes" from other states but I've never heard from any of those people when I respond. Most likely fake profiles just to make it seem this app had a lot of potential matches.

This site is a piece of junk fake profiles, scammers, catfishing and prostitution. They kick you off for no reason. It's trash. I wish I could give it zero but the review rating will not allowed it. Don't waste your time on this garbage.

Would select zero but that's not an option. Signed up for a year. Why I don't know should have known better. After a few hours, I had several messages. All from scammers with fake profiles. Answered one just to make sure. After talking back and forth several minutes. He asked the classic scam question. So how long have been on the site and what are you looking for? I didn't answer directly. After several more messages, he asked me to go to Google Hangouts. I said no thank you. That was that. No more messages. I reported him. So sick of this kind of scamming. You can't select a distance parameters either. Just the USA. So annoying. No thanks! I'm over it

This site is awful and I've complained countless times and provided proof of the scams and I've seen several and POF does absolutely nothing about it! It's all about the money with them. I never receive a response back to my documented complaints with all the details they need to clearly see the potential scam and never once has anyone reached out to me and provided any feedback of what they have done about it. I think it just goes into a black hole!

Most of the women can't even be bothered to fill their profile out correctly.

Those that do are either
Really really Overweight
Really really Unattractive
Will Swear like a sailor
Have multiple children
Have mental issues/nutjob crazies
Have a real attitude problem
Think they're God's Gift
Think they're a princess

Demand everything and offer nothing

IMO it's full of leftovers that can't get a date in the real world. There's a reason they're single

If you find what you think is someone decent beware, odds on they'll turn out to be an oddball in some way

It is really surprising how many fake ads there are on this site. Lots and lots! They have only 1 or 2 pictures, use improper English and say nothing of substance in their self description. And the 56 year old woman always looks 35. They use words like "pionate". WTF? And in the education section they write "some college ". Why do this over and over? It makes for an awful experience. Save your money and stay away from this scam.

If i was you i would never use this website you might mess around a get raped or killed with all the fake profiles or catfish

Virtually all of the profiles are full of negativity and demanding you make an effort to impress them MAKE ME LAUGH etc, this is despite the fact you could go out the house and see 100 women in the street and 99 would be better than what you see on POF. They act like they are doing you a favour if they deign to reply to you

I eventually found one who didn't have a bad attitude, didn't have a shopping list of demands and was somewhat attractive (and believe me that was tough going)

But It turns out she wasn't 35 like she said, she was actually 45 and doesn't have the degree she claimed, oh and her photos are 4 years out of date.

Someone who's profile demanded NO TIME WASTERS asked me what I was looking for. I jokingly said an end to poverty and a trip from Santa. She blocked me. Absolutely zero concept of humour. Talk about a bitter and twisted bunch

No wonder it's free. App now deleted

This website should be banned, WAY TO DAMN MANY SCAMMERS and sex traffickers' AND CATFISH on this site.

If you aren't drop dead handsome with no facial hair and no defects and the same ethnicity as the girls. They just read your messages and don't bother replying to you. And what makes it worse is when they read it and delete it. The site is filled with nothing but picky girls who don't leave you much information on their profiles so you can ask the right questions. And when you do ask them a question about themselves, they ignore you. The girls who use Plenty of Fish rely on the guy to message them, they don't ever message you out of the blue. Everyday I get between 30-50 likes and views but never a message from the girls... Plenty of fish should of be made with the concept that the girl must message you, you can not message them. It made it where girls and guys found love, quicker then the way Plenty of fish has it made right now... There was a site like that a long time ago and it was very successful. If Plenty of Fish made their dating site where the girl must message you to find love, and where inactive accounts with 15days of no activity where deleted, it would cut down on who is using the site from those who don't. And help everyone not waste time sending a message to someone who is not using it anymore. The way the site is set up right now you will be the site for years with a message or reply and as a guy you would find better luck using tinder or eharmony.

If you need cheering up have a look at how out of touch with reality the so called princesses are and you'll be howling with laughter soon enough

Its honestly full of females who are truly ghastly or are just way past their best but still think they can be picky at 40+. I love it how they post pics from 2015 on their profiles too or photos of all their pets as I really want to see 5 pictures of their dog

I just laughed when I saw women who are 2 out of 10 saying things like, if you only send them a message asking them how they are then they'll delete and block you /+how you must be over 6 ft tall to even contact them. Hahaha. Imagine them pulling that trick in the real world

POF = Unattractive women with a rank bad attitude

I've been on pof for 4 months. Plenty of attention, but no dates. All of the guys I've talked to are terrible. Some only want hookups while writing they were looking for long-term relationship. There were a bunch of scammers (read https://www.einnews.com/pr_news/*******/china-born-romance-scam-spread-overseas-cyber-forensics-net-alerts-dating-app-users) pretending to be Chinese American men (at least 20 of them chatted me up). They were all handsome, in mid-thirties, and been in America 5 years, although their English was all horrible, and they all insist on speaking in Chinese. They all want to chat on WeChat or Whatsapp, where you can send money. Their strategy was pretending to be very wealthy by showing pictures of them on vacation, in mansions, and in first class airplane seats. They all claimed to be investment bankers, who loved to travel, golf, skydive, surf, cook, drink coffee and other obviously fake hobbies. When I asked where they have traveled in America, they re-direct and talk about being too busy and traveling in every single country in Asia or Europe. Yeah right. They lie about simple things, such as claiming to cook a fancy meal whose picture they stole, claiming to work while talking to me throughout the day sending one message every two minutes, or claiming to know the area but wouldn't tell me where they went hiking. One hispanic guy spent 2 months talking to me without meeting up, so I knew he was unattractive. When I asked to meet up, he said his profile picture was from 5 years ago. His real picture is of a 50 year old man with white hair, overweight, and looked nothing like his profile picture, which was of him when he was 31. Trying to catfish me! Waste of my time!

A few thoughts about POF

The women are all poor in the looks dept and even worse personality

When you have a website where the vast majority of women are self-proclaimed tattoo addicts & tell you they have dozens of tattoos and plan on getting more you know it's not going to be a very classy place. Imagine telling people you swear a lot too like it's a good thing. I am no prude but it is a shocking reflection on modern society

You can soon see why they are single. Never seen so many women with such a entitlement attitude who think they are gorgeous princesses. To be honest its just an absolutely woeful standard of females who all think they have a divine right to Mr Perfect with a six pack...

You'll do well if you can find a woman that manages to post a photo the correct way round & doesn't put up photos of her 25 cats or pictures of her sticking her tongue out. You'll do even better if you can find one that can message more than one word to you. The ones who have no social skills all claim to love "banter" They all seem to have the personality of a turnip

I lost count of women who proudly bragged of the fact they were extremely picky I don't understand how can they act that way. Don't they own a mirror?

This is a hookup and scammer dating site I'm so glad that I didn't spend a penny most of the men are scammers or they are not on their feet or they are only wanting sex. Heck naw avoid this site.

I have had guys on this site attempt to scam me. You'll get guys from hundreds or even thousands of miles away messaging you even though there's no practical way for that person to either date you or hook up with you from that far away. Bottom line, if, you are looking for a real relationship, look somewhere else.

Most of what you're likely to find on POF is at most is guys looking for friends with benefits; but more often than not every Tom-$#*!- and Harry on there is really after that quick easy hookup after which he's likely to just ghost you and you'll never back from them again. The culture on POF doesn't seem to be about "getting to know someone" it gets reduced to being about "getting to f**k someone."

The women are very high maintenance and very low quality. They all seem very low in IQ too, seem to thrive on drama & have a woeful attitude

I got lots of messages but all they said was just hi or hello. Not one of them had any personality. Plus they all were overweight and had children. I wasn't attracted to any of them

It really seems to be the leftovers 30-46 that no one else wants

Ps beware of them lying about their age. I saw many who put they were 36 only to click on their profile when they said they were really 49

In the time I have been on POF the majority of the people contacting me were fake/scammers using the same verbage in each of them, as if it was scripted (I'm guessing it is). I went off for a bit then created an account to try again, but out of the immediate 16 men contacting me, 3 were apparently real, the rest were same verbage, fake pictures, etc. So, I still politely said I wasn't interested. But, by the next day, POF admin had deleted my account for violating their rules... not sure what I did, but I'm glad they did. I've tried a couple others in the last three years and met better quality people and remained friends with them even. POF really is NOT even worth going on for free.
