Plenty of Fish Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of Plenty of Fish (POF) is largely negative, with customers expressing significant dissatisfaction regarding the quality of profiles and user interactions. Common concerns include a high prevalence of fake profiles, rudeness, and entitlement among users, particularly women, who are perceived as unrealistic in their dating expectations. Many reviews highlight poor customer service, including issues with account management and a lack of effective support. While some users acknowledge the site's potential for connecting singles, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that POF has declined in quality and user experience, leading many to seek alternatives.

Plenty of Fish has changed the interface entrance, but the over site is still terrible. The site is still mostly just scammers. Match has a monopoly ran by controlling several dating sites. Including, but not limited to Okcupid, Plenty of Fish, Tinder, Match.com, and recently they've been trying to acquire Upward Christian dating app.

This POF version of the Match dating group won't let you use a VPN, but here's the funny part. They database all the pictures, phone numbers of the users through the match group. They still know who you are, but pretend they don't. Of course a lot of their low level entry positions are clueless about these things.

If you sign up for any of these websites, buy a burner phone, do not put any number connected to anything that is connected to your bank, any personal details, etc. Also copyright your picture, they've been to known to use them without permission.

Male looking for Female. The site offered 202 females as recomended for me 15 per page w picture. Tap on picture to see picture assortment with profile only to find "Janie has disabled messaging for now, try sending a like instead!". Janie has left the site and is never coming back. Of my 202 recommended women to meet 111 were DISABLED. I thought I was in the Special Olympics of dating sites. On each page of 15 over half are bogus. Go ahead pour your heart out to a, "Like", that will never answer. The time wasted looking is more than most could bare.

This is an extremely poorly managed site, especially since match group attached it's name to it. They allow all kinds of fraud and phonies to put up their garage, especially porn advertising at other sites. They stopped free communication almost completely, and claim to allow one free contact per day, but that's a lie because it doesn't happen that way. Now, with match group running it, they put a bunch of bs ads on it. They cheapened it up by dropping certain categories like searching locals. You can't change your head line of your profile, even if you made a mistake. There's no way to save your favorites in order to contact them later, after a like, when you have no free contact for that day. Now, they keep running the same pictures over and over and over and over again. The site is very poorly managed/run and really isn't worth wasting your time with because it simply put...SUCKS!

POF requires only mobile phone verification of identity during registration. Email is NEVER verified during set up, however, when recovering an account, POF will ONLY allow email verification from an email that was NEVER verified by POF to begin with. WHAT? POF refuses to verify identity by mobile text even though that is the ONLY method that was used to verify identity at set up... They would not verify by other details either including every other detail on the account and verified photos. So essentially, because I typed my email incorrectly (A TYPO) at registration, and it was never caught because it was NEVER verified, POF refused to use any number of legitimate identity verification methods including the mobile text that was originally used. POF also refused to delete the profile stating if I gave them my username and date of last login, they could delete the profile but not verify for me that it was deleted. WHAT? "So, you will delete a profile that you supposedly cannot verify is mine, but you won't allow me to recover it?" THIS IS THE MOST ILLOGICAL SET OF POLICIES EVER! So apparently my profile is still out there forever, without my permission by the way. This has to be one of the worst companies in existence.

I wouldn't bother
June 21, 2023

It's full of women in their 30s 40s who are extremely unattractive and unappealing yet are very picky

They say if you only say hi you'll be ignored. How can they be so picky? It's beyond obvious there are too many men on the site otherwise they wouldn't be able to make any demands at all.

Got so bored reading the same thing all the time, how they can't see likes, how independent they are, how their children will always come first and how you must be able to make them laugh... but theres never any mention what they would bring to a relationship

Ps, what's with all the photos with their tongues sticking out? It's embarrassing

If you want intrigue and drama, then this site is for you! POF seems to get worse as time goes on. My experience so far has been...

One guy reminded me of a human trafficker, wore sunglasses in all his photos, and kept pushing to meet. By contrast, another guy told me that I would have to meet him at a police department and agree to a background check. He also told me his crazy political views. Definite red flags. Disturbingly, a guy, whose wife had just died, was prowling on POF looking for his third wife. He was still waiting for her autopsy report to find out why she died. He had no clue. Hmmm... Lastly, a guy wrote me a nasty message because I did not want to be responsible for his children that I had nothing to do with. It's unclear why he, nor the MOTHER took no responsibility. More red flags and drama.

Others have written that most women on POF are single with children, overweight, don't take care of themselves, etc. The men aren't any better. Loads of nutters out there.

There is no way to input and/or search by my preferences in a mate so it's all up to POF who in turn wants me to check out males twenty years younger and inches shorter.

Scammers abound and there are plenty of men posting pictures that are not their own. For example, one man posted a picture of Albert Einstein, confirmed by Google. Reported to no avail, it's still there. Others post pictures of their cats, dogs, unknown females, sunset, numerous vehicles without a rider, phone numbers in the About section, and more. Some even get away with having multiple profiles.

Reports fall on deaf ears. Men members are allowed all this, while I, a female, posted a photo of an open road and it was taken down. Can't vouch what is done to the other female posts as I can't view them.

Am not paying a penny to this site because I don't think it's worth it. The only good thing is that you can write your About section practically freehand and that you can still get somewhere as a not a paid member.

My experience with plenty of fish has been almost completely negative. You have to be very careful about what you say in their sight because if they don't like what you say they will cancel your account even if you just paid yesterday. Which is what happened to me. I was talking with another user and expressing my point of view to them in conversation. And they turned around and complained in my account was terminated. I did not use any bad language or sexual language, was just simply expressing a political point of view. In a private conversation, right after I had paid them a little over $100 for a 6-month. I think they're a bunch of self-righteous Crooks! And it's literally almost impossible to get a hold of anyone that understands anything. They're all foreigners and other countries. Keep your money find another place to find love. Once they ban you you're done.

"Cant see likes, cant see likes, cant see likes message me". That's what at least 90% of the headlines from women say
Don't they realise nearly every other woman has pout the same or don't they care? Why cant they make an effort or tell me more about themselves? It just comes across and lazy and unoriginal to put "cant see likes", when I see that I have no interest, if they were serious they would pay or at least fill their bio out with something positive. Who wants to see negativity?

Also "I know my worth and not prepared to settle" might look good in a magazine but when you are 45 and have a lot of baggage it just looks absolutely ridiculous.

I've no idea what the men are like and I don't really care. It's full of women that are ridiculously below average looking who can't even make up for that by being a nice person.

The most staggering thing is how picky they all are. They want a good looking guy who is tall and cute. It's full of 2s who can't even be bothered filling the profile section out, all they do is stick their tongue out in the pics.

Any decent woman will have their messaging disabled. So all that's left are the ones with attitude and baggage, yet still demanding a hot guy. Can you imagine them pulling that trick in a bar?

Obviously way too many thirsty men on there giving them attention

Utterly pointless

After you're on the site awhile and have had several First Contacts, a 24 hour clock kicks in and you can't have another First Contact until then. Your stuck chatting with the multitude of Scammers and Prostitutes who wasted all your initial efforts at finding someone compatible. You have to pay the Subscription Price to life the ban. Not fair!

Full of scammers
May 31, 2023

I connected with a few men who quickly told me how much they liked me and would do anything possible to keep a relationship. They both told me they didn't have family near by, and that their job made them travel frequently. But we would meet in person as soon as everything was settled and would take me to meet there family out of state. Then both tried to trick me into getting a hold of my money. One gave me a sad story, and how I was the only one he could turn to for help and it was urgent. The other one told me he wanted to add me to his sock market and needed my personal information. (Social security number, driver's license bank password etc) Yet when I both to sign a Notery document of proof of my financial assistance, they both acted offended and heart broken. And how my distrust was getting in the way of a good relationship.

They lie to you
They show preferential treatment to girls... they deny it But I proved it.
They show you recommended matches and the matches aren't taking messages... so is this a ploy to get you to fork out money for the same treatment? YES it is...
And if you complain... they remove your profile
