Want to watch an entire episode of a show? Great. Watch the first half or so, along with about 15 commercials. Then watch it slow down, lag, freeze up, and exit the application.

So go back in, find the episode you already watched half of, and fast forward to about where you the show crashed. Watch even more commercials to get back to close to where you were, then watch part of the show you already saw and more commercials. Great, right?

Nope. Towards the end of the show, it'll crash yet again. This time, you can't get back to where you were. If you try to fast forward past the halfway point of the show, it'll zip right to the end and start the next episode. So this time, fast forward to the midpoint. Watch five or six commercials you've already seen four or five times. After the commercials end, fast forward to where you think the show might have crashed. Watch another five or six commercials for the fifth or sixth time. Watch part of the show you've already seen to get back to where it crashed.

If you're lucky, the show you're watching will only crash twice. If you're not, expect to do this at least three times. So enjoy your forty-five minute show in just under 70 minutes after all the fast forwarding and rewatching of commercials.

If you like to be annoyed and frustrated, this is the app for you. All the bad parts of watching television—commercials and repetition—over and over and over again.

I love watching Pluto TV other than the volume blast on the Jagermeister commercials. Why does it blast 10x louder? It actually hurts your ears and wakes up everyone in the house. I refuse to watch until you fix the volume! Funny thing is it's only that 1 commercial

Pretty good variety and the movies change out a lot so it's not always the same movie selections. TV shows, movies, sports & news. It seems Pluto has changed the guide view and no longer gives a brief description of a movie. So, unless you know what the movie ia about, the only way to get an idea is to watch it (or Google it).
The commercials though. OMG, I saw the local state politician's competition bashing commercial (same one over & over) at least 40 times during one movie. Some breaks it would just show that same commercial back to back 3-4 times. Advertising is advertising I guess. I hope they get more sponsors. At least it does seem that the commercials seem to pertain to local area (kind of funny how there are local cable companies advertising on Pluto.)
If I had to request one thing (besides limiting how many times the same commercial can run in a certain time frame) would be to add Two & Half Men (Charlie Sheen episodes only). Make it it's own channel, like The Love Boat and The Adams Family.

The app is laggy, gets stuck playing in the background often, and the interface/navigation is frustrating to use. Commercials are awful and too 'left-leaning' for my taste.
Disappointing.

Boasts premium content such as mainstream live sports, but actual free content is mostly bad old shows and movies or obscure sports. Wondered why Google Play reviews are so high, but GP app redirected me when I tried to write a bad review!

I was watching something on Pluto that was about 2 hours long. After about 75 minutes I had to leave and came back to watch the next night.
Not only would it not resume from where I stopped watching, even when it did ask if I wanted to resume, it started from the beginning. Then, instead of being able to fast forward to where I left off, you can only FF to where the next ad break is. So FF past 13 minutes, watch the SAME 4 commercials for 2-3 minutes. FF for another 13 minutes, watch the SAME 4 commercials for 2-3 minutes. You can't go past them, you can't get back to where you want to resume.
SO, to get back to where I was, 75 minutes in, it stopped 6 times during FF just to show me the SAME 4 commercials. You want to make me watch ads for free TV, fine. But not letting me resume and forcing me to watch 15-20 minutes of commercials just to get back to where I was? Nevermind. GARBAGE app.

Going to delete, how are you going to call trump our president are you in loser denial or something, the commercial runs all the time, if they drop all political commercial it'd be great.

Lot of options the only issue I have is one commercial, I don't mind the ad for Ford it's the two idiots that are talking, it looks like a internet sports talk show, the main problem is it's from last year and the audio is broken up and they play it so much. Pluto.tv please change the ad for ford.

I was excited to find shows I couldn't find anywhere else but the ads totally turned me off. I won't waste my time.

I understand that ads are necessary. But, c'mon! Firstly, the same ads are shown over and over again. Secondly, there are too many commercial breaks.

Not to mention, they get a show and repeat the same episodes over and over again.

That commercial for that birth control is tacky and disgusting! It plays over and over, every time a commercial comes on it's that terrible one! Please remove it. It's disrespectful to the youth and disturbing to hear. People don't wanna hear " Welcome to my Virgina"! I don't wanna be welcomed there! Please and thank you, especially every 10 minutes!

If you're the type of person who enjoys watching the same small handfull of episodes of any given series over and over again, with absolutely no hope of having them switched out for different episodes for literally years, then you have struck gold with Pluto TV. I have absolutely no problem with any of the content, or commercials, as I fully understand the need for sponsored advertisements on a free streaming service. I merely have a problem with the fact that they will show the same small handful of episodes of any given series over and over again, relentlessly, for years without ever switching them out for different episodes. Pluto TV SEEMS wonderful for the first couple of months that you use it, but when you find yourself encountering the same episodes over and over again, never changing, you start to understand the rub of the situation.

Trying to watch the matrix. Shouldn't be hard, right? Well I get an hour into watching it, with the atrocious video player that buffers so damn much and is so slow, not to mention you cant pause during commercials (wtf) and I accidentally click exit on the remote. Shouldn't matter, I can just re-open the app and keep watching, or so I thought. So I re-open the app, only to find that it didn't save my progress. Ok, doesn't matter too much, I can just fast forward. Well, it turns out you can only fast forward if you watch *every* single ad up to the point you left off. Yes, even if you're just fast forwarding to a certain point and not watching anything before it, it still makes you watch every single ad. Awful video player, awful UI, terrible quality. 0/10, would not recommend unless its a last resort

It's 2021... Is it REALLY that hard to make sure the video and audio match to an extent that we humans can't notice?!?!?! Based on whoever is behind the code for Pluto TV, the answer to that question is yes. Not even the ads synced. However, it was free, so that's why I gave it two stars, instead of one.
