Their service is PATHETIC. Don't work on this website. You'll waste your lot of Time.
It's Better to work on Other websites.
POOR experience
Stay away if you don't want to waste your time. I don't want to enter 100 characters for this one. It's just trash.
Hi guys,
I have been scammed by PeoplePerHour.com.
I list my money to Scam Website PeoplePerHour.com.
They didn't give my money back.( 270)
Is PeoplePerHour.com a Scam? Yes, they are insolent crooks.
I would give this Website 0 Star.
I would give this website 0 stars but unfortunately I can't. I chose to feature one of my offers as a freelancer, which the website gives the impression of being a one off payment of £12.95. Later I find out a total of £360+ pounds has been sucked out of my account by PPH for re-featuring the post. I contact them to make it stop and they tell me I need to repurchase the "feature it" option and click never feature again. I. e it cost me £12.95 to stop them taking money out of my account. I did eventually get a refund of some of the money but my recommendation would be to stay well away from this platform - it's only caused me stress and misery. Bunch of sudo-crooks if you ask me!
HORRIFIC! I am someone that does research before I buy, and having lived in NY-I am used to con artists. I didn't see this coming. I researched my freelancer because he was ranked as #2 on PPH. I did an external review too and saw nothing but good reviews. What I couldn't know until I booked my project was that PPH is set up to allow corruption to run rampant. Why? They allow $ to be released to your freelancer in milestones, before the project is complete. So what the corrupt players do is deliver a milestone, get their $, then bail on the project. This is what happened to me. And no one in charge at PPH will help you-in fact they will say to you why did you release $ if you weren't happy? Without understanding that you released $ as a partial payment with the assumption they would be completing it! I looked around and I am one of many with this experience.
PPH is short sighted because in their quest to get $ they don't care about the end consumer (you) and allow criminals like my web "guy" in India to run amok. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Call your credit card company and open a dispute! Kodeglobe Technologies/Shantanu Pandey-avoid at all costs.
I've been a freelancer and buyer on PPH since 2013. Since 2020, the escrow account is no longer a safe way to insure payment. I've had two buyers that removed the deposit they place into escrow to insure payment. Once i completed the job, there was no money for payment. And PPH won't take any action when the buyer removed funds from escrow. I strongly recommend getting jobs from elsewhere.
If you'd like to chuck 10%+ of your porject fee down the toilet, go ahead. Because when your freelancer chooses simply to not respond, or can't deliver, you don't get that back.
2 times I got rejected because I had been asked to change my location and my name although my personal info is very quite correct. The third time I got final reject after I informed them guiding me on how I can make these changes on my application. Basically, they do not know what they want from sellers and customers.
I was using this website for years, as a freelancer but also as a customer.
It used to be a good one.
Last year it got much worse.
A lot of cheap or fake freelancers with fake reviews and paid hourlies to be featured but without the knowledge to do it.
I have bought an hourlie that it was supposed to be delivered in 2 days and also I paid freelancer some extra things to fix in the app.
The freelancer was featured and have a good rating, I guess that was paid also or completely fake.
I got it delivered after 1 month instead of 2 days and I paid the freelancer before checking the app because it was valentines day and he asked me if I could pay him for taking his gf to go out.
The day after i checked the app didn't work at all. I told him but he refused and was ignoring me all the time.
I opened a ticket and asked for a refund, the customer service the first time replied quickly and said that they can not give me a refund because of it against their terms, because I paid him. They told me to solve it with the freelancer.
I had also open 2nd ticket about Paypal dispute but the support ignore me their too when I asked about my money.
After a lot of messages and 1 month fighting with the developer, he agreed for a refund but unfortunately without any progress or reply from support I decided to open dispute to Paypal.
When I opened dispute they replied in hours and saying that it was against terms to open dispute.
I told them that they are ignoring me for a month that's why I opened it.
They have refunded the money to my PPH wallet after almost 2 months and only when I have opened the dispute in PayPal.
I tried to withdraw my money to Paypal account but they declined because I haven't closed the dispute yet.
Do you know what happens after that?
I am very disappointed by how they handle their customers and with their customer support.
Instead of protecting their clients, they fool them with paid and fake hourlies and when they get fooled they block their account.
Stay away from unprofessional people and services like that.
I have read good reviews about this website, I recently got an invitation to submit a proposal for a job by Javier B. He sent me an email address to someone name Dorimalia Waiau and because I have been scammed before I decided to take precaution and look up the email address but when I looked up the email address this came up https://support.peopleperhour.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/*******298-Beware-of-Scammers-
I am unaware if this is real or if this is fake I wanted to bring it to your attention. Mr. Dorimalia Waiau started asking me about personal business such as where I lived, my phone number, he said he would pay me before I started working which I thought was a little strange, he then try to convince me into giving him my information and he called me via Skype 3 times!
Have been a PPH freelancer for 5 1/2 years. Was great when it was set up. But, the site has been going down hill for the last 2 years.
The fees have gone up during this time to 22%. Clearly because the jobs have reduced to an incredibly low rate from the overseas workers. So. PPH are trying to keep their profits up.
There are regular jobs on there. Asking for database systems to be written for less than £100. Take the 22% off, and you are left with £78. How is that going to make someone a living in the UK? £78 for around 3 days work.
There are some review sites,, giving PPH 5* reviews. Look at the names. Very few are from the UK. The whole thing has been taken over by the overseas countries.
If that's what PPH want, then they can keep it. After 5 1/2 years. I've given up on the site.
I paid for an article publication. The amount with the fee was £253.60. The person who published this service raised the price right after I paid to £520.00 and told me that I need to add the difference. I told her that in that case I am not interested. The website told me that they would refund only £230 and that the fees are not refundable. I do not agree to that. It is not my fault that they raised the price right after I paid. If the new price was there at the begining I would not buy it at all.
It's gone really downhill in the last few years. What I often see is people pretending to be UK Professionals when infact they are from 3rd world countries with lots of fake glowing reviews. You can even buy fake reviews on there, which kinds speaks for itself really. They work some advertise is often not their own. Ive even had my own work examples stolen and used by other people. There are some genuine pros on there, but it's a maze of who is real and who is not
Utterly demeaning site, the degree I worked so hard for, paid 18k for and my 8 years experience are worth more than the £5 you'll pay me for a model that will take me 4 hours to create... I'm not usually one for profanity but $#*! you people per hour!
Accepted an offer on a really small job (just 10 mins work) I just didn't have the software, and it wasn't worth buying it, sent all the files across with the decline day, heard nothing despite 3 further emails asking for a progress report, so had to cancel the job, and got it done elsewhere, they did refund the fee, but refuse to refund their commission, stating that its a fee for using the platform, although it seems to be 10% plus tax of the job value, if it was a service fee I would have expected it would be a flat cost, but being a percentage it is obviously commission. In my case its only a small amount, but buyers should think twice about posting a large job on this site, which seems to be full of freelancers from Asia who agree to do every job and dont deliver. Maybe PPH will think differently once the court summons drops through their letterbox
If you want loss money and work with SCAM and or FAKE freelancers, then you can use PeoplePerHour.com. I am sure it's scam website and they created a lot of scam freelancer profiles and they apply for all jobs posted. After that receive escrow money and postpone tasks. Without doing anything they take money from escrow and steal money from BUYERS. I dont recommend use and hire freelancers in pph never, you will loss your money and your valuable time too...
Tried twice to have a simple wix design done first time the guy simply asked for the money and then didn't do anything had a refund the next one took 79 deposit did bugger all except make excuses missed his own deadlines made excuse after excuse cancelled the project and he then wanted to keep the £79 as he said he did all the work but did nothing. Total scammer Anthony G on people hour. Never use them again
Translator refused to finish work citing religious beliefs. Peopleperhour refused to mitigate - no buyer protection - stay away!
Very poor customer service.
I wanted to post my profile and I've applied.
They replied that my profile requires corrections.
I've changed profile as they said, then I sent it again.
They asked me to change again. I've changed.
After some time they replied that they won't accept my profile and I can't be posted.
This is the worst experience talking with customer service.
Answer: They are not interested in answering queries and questions = the best way of getting a message across to the Wally that runs the site is to get involved in one of their Webinars = that by the way, is the only reason anyone would want to take part in them!
Answer: They are stupid and lazy. I sent emails for my account being deactivated, when they responded "I do not see an account with this email. Email me from the email on your account." Well, if I do not have an account and cannot make one, how I am supposed to email you from one on the nonexisting account? They did not read my email when I asked why or they would have known I did not have an account and could not email from that email. You have to pay a price for each job you apply so really I find it a scam. There are jobs posted, but after a year never hired and what is to prove they are legit jobs? Afterall, we have to pay just to apply!
Answer: Nobody wants to talk on the phone. Everything is by email with a 2 to 3 day response delay depending on your Geo location.

Answer: Because there are lots of people who say they can do stuff, but actually can't, and when they fail, you still pay.
Answer: Definitely call your credit card company and dispute the charge.
