Unfortunately, pdfguru appears to be engaging in fraudulent practices, as reported by numerous individuals on various review websites. I, too, have fallen victim to their unauthorized billing.
On 1 August 2024 I completed a one-time payment online for $1.52 to pdfguru.com to convert a file from pdf to Word.
On the following dates, they charged me recurring fees for a "subscription" I never authorized, as follows:
07 Aug 2024: $76.77
06 September 2024: $73.99
06 October 2024: $72.54
31 October 2024: $76.51
I only discovered the fraud on October 31,2024, as I hadn't been regularly reviewing my bank statements.
Since then, I have reported pdfguru to the Australian Federal Police, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and the Cyber Crime Authority in Australia, with the hope of recovering the funds that were unlawfully debited from my credit card account.

I brought a weeks usage last week. It wasn't made clear about the subscription after that. I then had £49.99 come out of my account. I emailed them, received a long email back offering me a lifetime subscription. I told them I just wanted a refund. No reply. So I emailed again later, no reply. Emailed again the next dat. No reply. So I oped another enquiry with them and was told they don't refund online payments. I relied, and guess what- NO REPLY AGAIN! And then I find an email from 6 days previous to say my subscription was cancelled. So I'm down £49.99, with no subscription, no luck with a refund and I'm being ignored! Utterly disgusting customer service!

I used pdfguru, paying via PayPal a one-time fee of €1.09 to convert a medical test file. After 10 days I was very surprised to found that another €49.99 was taken from my account. I have scrutinized all the correspondence on the matter and found it to be very misleading. The consumer requests some specific service and initially pays a small amount, having the impression that it is a one-time fee for the particular service. Then he or she receives welcome email and order confirmation email. In the most common case, one does not read such emails in detail, because it is clear what they contain. But in this particular case, this practice was deftly used by those who conceived pdfguru, because the confirmation of the order is where it is written that, unless within a week you cancel, you subscribe to their services with a monthly fee of 49.99 euros. Formally, everything is legal. In fact, many users quite naturally skip this text and after a week they are legally charged 49.99 euro. This was my case too.
I exercised the right of citizens of the European Union to withdraw from the contract within 14 days and received an immediate refund. Preparing the withdrawal request, I found that all the correspondence is missing the order number, subscription ID, etc., so that it is as difficult as possible for the user to specify exactly from what he wants to withdraw. Having paid via PayPal (my bank declined the payment by card, later I found out it was precisely because of the bad reputation of the site), I used the transaction numbers for this purpose. In my case, it seems I escaped unscathed. But I don't know what surprises await me in the future

I converted a file from pdf to word for 2.99, so far it went well. Later I saw that these scammers were taking 49.99 per month from my credit card. Without any permission. Easy money. Keep your distance from these scammers

I used PDFGuru to edit a document and paid for their service. I opted out afterward, not knowing they had a hidden policy designed to scam people. Eight days later, they withdrew 49.99 euros from the card I used, claiming that when you use their service and pay within 7 days, they automatically convert you into a subscriber and charge you 49.99 euros.
After unauthorizedly withdrawing the money from my account, they used another company, Adbraze.com, to withdraw an additional 49.99 euros the same day, within 4 hours. Upon investigation, I found that this company is located in the same city as PDFGuru, Nicosia in Cyprus.
I contacted them to request a refund, but they refused and denied the fraudulent activity they committed. Do not use their site; they are operated by scammers who will steal your credit card information and possibly sell it on the black market. Google should blacklist this site.

Check you junk mail for their dodgy order confirmation that notifies you that you have in fact signed up for a 7 day introductory offer and after 7 days you will be automatically charged $49.99 per month. SNEAKY, DISHONEST marketing - stay well away!

Definitely a scam! Tricks you with thinking you are being charged a ONE time fee of just 99 cents then charges 49.99 for a subscription. Do not use pdf guru if you do not want to be out of money you didn't plan on spending for a horrible experience.

Terrible service. Claim to convert pdf to word, however when I uploaded a pdf to convert, they force you to pay first without showing you the result. The result as to no surprise was useless. It just pasted pdf pages as Images into word document. And they refused to refund the money.

This business tricks people into paying for a subscription. The trial lasts 7 days and then you are supposed to cancel it 24 hours in advance of the end. By doing this, you end up paying for the sub. It is written in VERY SMALL letters on the website - not noticeable. Pathetic way to do business.
