Paula Young has very horrible customer service. Paula Young also has terrible quality wigs. The wigs are not throw on and go. They require much effort. For example, on many of their wigs, the wefts show through and they are un-wearable. If you call customer service, it takes a long time to get a refund on a defective wig. Secondly, if the wigs are somewhat wearable, they tangle underneath badly and wear out really fast. So all in all, the prices are not that cheap. I have found that purchasing wigs of better quality makes sense. Paula Young is just horrible. Please shop elsewhere. Don't waste your time and money or effort.

Thru my dealing with Paula Young, I've lost all trust in this company. I've read many negative reviews about this company, and I can relate to many of them. Now, they are playing games with state sales taxes charged. If you've ever had to return an item, you know how bad the customer service is - how slow they are at crediting your credit card, and who knows how much they will actually give you credit for... it's usually a surprise, and now they are keeping a portion of the sales tax you were charged for an item you are returning. When I asked for an explanation as to why they would do such a thing, the Customer Service Supervisor said it is allowed if you live in certain states. WHAT? I found that to be very creative. I'm going to see what my state's Department of Revenue thinks of that idea. Just curious! Oh, and yes, now they have what they are calling a "Delivery Surcharge Pass-Through" charge of $1.95. First, it was a COVID charge and now it's a Delivery Surcharge Pass-Through charge ;). When I questioned that same supervisor as to why they were charging this and what it is, she started rambling an explanation of which I had no idea what she was saying. I think even she knew it was a ripoff - she just couldn't say so. What brought me to write this review was all the frustration I had to go thru to return two wigs, and have no idea if the charges will ever come off my credit card. Like I'm sure many of you have had to do - I will have to get my credit card company involved with the charges. I've been buying from Paula Young for a while and returned everything I buy due to poor quality except for one wig that I have purchased 5 or 6 times, and it is always wearable and has become my hairstyle. It just doesn't last very long and has to be replaced often. I decided I would not order from them except for the one I can trust, but saw a new style and thought it might just be OK. WRONG! It was the normal poor quality they are becoming known for. I guess I never learn. I'm going to try to find a replacement for my favorite style with another company so I can avoid Paula Young altogether. This company's customer service is as bad as any I have ever dealt with, but I'm sure it's not an easy job based on the product they are servicing.

Horrible quality

I have worn wigs for 50 years, due to a medical condition. The quality of Paula young has gone down hill they are terrible. With in 3 days the back of the wig is already ratty, pappy, can't get a comb thru it. Just horrible quality of synthetic fibers. Very cheaply made.

Bought a wig 2 weeks ago... felt something digging in the side of my head... wire in ear tab must have been broken... called Paula young and they said they could not replace it because it was worn... well now I'm stuck with a wig with a wire sticking into my brain... BUYER BEWARE of Paula Young and her products, policies and all other rip offs!

Exceptionally bad customer service.

Any company can be a superstar when there's no issues. You find out what a company really is about when you have a problem. If they listen to you, if they take any interest at all and your problem, and try to resolve it. That doesn't mean that you bend over backwards and do whatever the customer says. But you honor your brand and what you stand for. And you stand by your word. You protect your customers and you keep them forever. Very unhappy with my experience with their customer service team really disinterested and unwilling to help. And the customer service rep that I spoke to when I called was downright rude. Knowone needs to pay someone to give you a hassle. If you want to be treated like a valued customer, you need to go somewhere that values their customers. With all that being said I really enjoyed Paula Young's wigs. They were affordable and there were a couple of styles that I really liked, but I will find other styles I really like somewhere else.

This is the biggest rip off Company that I have ever dealt with I have never had a problem up until just 2 months ago a month ago actually I had to send something back because they sent the wrong hairpiece and in doing so so I hadn't received the new one they told me they would give me $5 back out of a $30.99 purchase I don't want $5 back I want the hair piece that I ordered supervisor I heard supervisor got on I'll give you $7 back these people are crazy you can't even understand them Rather from China the Philippines I don't know which I'm trying to find out that's how I ran into this Don't buy anything from them because they will steal from you

I ordered a wig from Paula Young only to wait a month and I never received it, called them was told card was never charged so now I reordered. Fast forward ordered 2 wigs on Monday night, card was charged $123 then on Tuesday evening my card was refunded and recharged $138 I know it's only $15 but it's the point of being charged one price and then when I called they said oh the price is only an estimate! An estimate of what? I've had enough. Never never ever again! Bull crap scamming company with mediocre wigs!

Not very happy the top by the back isn't smooth it feels like there's been some of the hair cut off it towards the back on top the hair in the back is very thin u can see through it

I purchased a wig, and it was awful even though the photos looked great.
I called several times to return the item in the evening however was unable to articulate my point I guess and decided to call today during the day.
The treatment I received was unbelievable, and I was passed on from one person to another and 54 minutes later I got the Queen Supervisor DONNA and she was just as awful as the wig itself.
I have no idea who or why she was given that title.
The wig was $126.00 + Tax, plus Covid Charge. Now they are asking me pay for the return which is approximately $15.00 to mail it back and they will charge me 20% restoking fee? Of $25.00
I will lose $40.00 to return an item that I could have purchased on Ebay (same exact maker and style) for $108.00
Before you purchase from them copy & paste the item name/make and you will find it on Ebay for less, no covid charge, free shipping and free returns.
Shame on me for thinking that Paula Young would be reputable Business.

Ordered a wig. They sent confirmation # with a delivery date of two weeks, and they would send tracking info; neither showed up. After three weeks, I called and their story (after talking to four different people, some with a serious lack of the language, and getting either disconnected or hung up on) was that they could not ship it due to an address issue. Confirmed it is MY address; no issue on this end. NO ONE ever notified me there was a problem; just ignored it. The last person I spoke with, who hung up when she did not want to hear any more, said it would be shipped this coming Monday; the 20th, with a tracking #. Needless to say I do not believe her nor will I ever do business any more, which is too bad as I have done business with them for years with good results. And please, let's not blame Covid!

Buyer beware

Paula young is not to be trusted. I ordered a wig on the deferred payment plan to be paid at a later date. During that time before my payment was due, someone hacked my card. Once I realized what happened I instantly called PY to give them my new card number so when my payment was due for deferment they could charge me. The woman on the phone said she couldn't take my new card number for whatever reason. So on the day my deferred payment was scheduled to come out, the transaction was of course declined. Okay fine, well I had also placed an order the night before with my new card and PY declined my order due to my old card not going through. But here's the problem, even though they canceled my order they still charged me for the product. I have never received the product and the charges are still on my card. So basically they stole my money amounting in $74.00. As of today I have not received the funds back. I have called PY financial department and they have been absolutely no help. They said they never took the money out, that's a lie because I called my bank and they are trying to resolve this issue. This has been almost a month now. I am just trying to warn people. Paula Young steals money from it's customers. BEWARE OF PAULA YOUNG.

This is the second time I have been upset with Paula Young Customer Service. I returned a wig and wanted to exchange it for a different color. After a month and a half of hearing NOTHING from the company, I called them. Turns out the wig I ordered was not available in that color - even though the catalog indicated it was. No email, no phone call, no snail mail. I would have chosen a different color had I known. I have purchased about 20 wig's from PY. I will not purchase another.

Rip off membership

I did not realize I signed up for a monthly charged membership and when I called customer service they refused to not only cancel the membership, but also my wig order, even though I talked with them and emailed my request a couple of hours after ordering. They finally canceled the membership after I emailed them at least 3 times The wig was not as nice as the way less expensive ones I ordered from Amazon. I will not order from Paula Young again.

My mom had a Paula Young wig with multiple clip-ins, the numerous complaints and poor reviews led me to avoid purchasing anything from this company, until the day I missed my mom so much, I was willing to do anything to feel closer to her, including buying wigs from Paula Young. BIG MISTAKE.]

1. My first order came with free shipping if a minimum amount was met with the use of a coupon code, I met the minimum, my code was accepted, and I was given 'free shipping'. The rate with free shipping was shown on the screen, but they charged my card for a different amount, that included shipping.
2. I was told to correct the error they would need to charge my card again, then when my order shipped, the initial charge would drop off, I declined, and told her not to charge my card. The person I talked to was rude, impatient, and bordered on hostile.
3. I emailed about the charge, had to send them the code I used, and the shipping fee was returned.
4. I stupidly ordered a second order before the first arrived and am angry with myself. Once again, there was a free shipping for orders over $59 with the use of a coupon code, which I used, only to be shown the amount to be charged without shipping included, and was billed for the amount with $12.99 added for shipping. I had to send emails and call to get the refund for shipping.
5. Even though they say you will get an email when your order is shipped, that did not happen, because I wanted to cancel the order, assuming it had not been shipped, only to be told the order shipped on 2/10 and would arrive 2/14. A tracking number was provided.
6. It is now 2/19/22, the last day they have to deliver is 2/20/22, and I will not get my delivery on time. Paula Young has partnered with Pitney Bowes who partners with USPS, and nobody knows when it will arrive.
7. The quality of my first two wigs is awful, which I did not know when I placed the second order, and I could not be more unimpressed. There are little hairs standing up all over Aria, the wefts are very visible and no amount of working on it will fix the issue, but the lengthy tedious return process I have read in review after review, is not worth it.

Don't buy. My Amazon wigs are better than this, including one that was only $6.99/$7.99

Used to be good

My 2 orders took almost 2 months to get to me & then when I got it, 2 out of my 3 products were ratty junk. Quality has gone downhill & customer service is worthless. I used to buy only from this company but as of now, I will never buy from them again.

I recently ordered 4 bottles of hairspray from these folks because they were on sale and, needless to say, I was extremely disappointed with the whole process. Firstly, I had used a free shipping coupon but when the order was sent to my email the coupon had disappeared. Secondly, the tracking number sent me to nowhere(never did work). The order never did show up in my Order History on their website(I've ordered from them before). When I finally did receive the bottles of hairspray they had just been thrown in the box with no padding and one of the bottles leaked. The advertisement papers that were in there were stuck to this bottle because they had gotten wet and then dried. If they don't have any more respect for their customers than this I think I'll take my business elsewhere.

I promptly received an email from Paula Young apologizing for the experience I had. They gave me a credit for free shipping(which I received) and they also sent me another bottle of hairspray. I believe in redemption and I think they certainly redeemed themselves. Maybe someone had a bad day. Needless to say, with their prompt response and actions to correct what went wrong I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again and encourage others to do the same. Thank you PaulaYoung.com!

Be very careful about purchasing from this company, they do not honor their return policy at all! I purchased four wigs, two of which were Clearance & not eligible for a refund (store credit only), which I understood & agreed to. Two WERE eligible for a refund, & I followed their return instructions to a T. After they received the two back that qualified for a refund of $79.86, I was told through email that I would receive a store credit only. I have emailed, called customer service twice, to no avail. One of the wigs was later changed to a Clearance item, but it was NOT Clearance when I purchased it. They are evasive, & I am having to contact my credit card company to get them involved. Be very cautious with this Company, I am thoroughly dismayed at their lack of competent customer service!

Not a good company.

I purchased 2 wigs, each costing $34.99. With tax it was around $78.00. The one wig looked like a brillo pad and the other one did not look good on me. I returned both of them. I found out after I returned them that they charge a $19.00 restocking fee for each wig and had to pay for shipping which was $9.95, so I ended up getting a refund of $22.03. What a rip off. I will never order from them again.
