I'm talking from a man's perspective. Utter disappointment! Apparently smaller sites like J2Match.com
Do their job better. They don't have any fake accounts at all, they don't let scammers in, they verify profiles. As a result, they are efficient and streamlined. I met the woman of my dreams there but that was after all my terrible experience with Ourtime. The only thing I got from Ourtime was a very expensive lesson about the danger of being too trusting.
Initially I signed up for a week. Went on three dates none of which were worth my time. Most of the profiles were definitely not worth pursuing or completely fake. At the end of the week I was going to pay for one more week just to give it more time and somehow my credit card was charged for a month. Without my approval. Not sure how they were able to do that but I know it's not legal and it's called stealing. I immediately shut my account down and reported it to the BBB. Also emailed asking for a refund and which I was told since my account was closed I was not eligible. I offered to send my credit card information and it must be about that keeps responding saying the same thing. If I had the money I would pursue this and sue them 1000 times over. What a scam!
I am a hard-working and successful farmer. All I wanted was a woman who would not cheat and would not be afraid to get her hands dirty. Was it possible to find such woman? Definitely No – on Ourtime! Definitely Yes on J1Love.com
I got even more than I asked for. When the world says " Give up", Hope whispers "Try it one more time". So I tried it one more time and found the right way. I got a beautiful wife, my friends' jaws dropped when they saw her: a beautiful super fit blond with big blue eyes and long hair. I live with the woman who actually listens to me and understands me. I live with the woman who cares for me and believes in me both in good and bad days. I still remember what a nightmare Ourtime was. Totally phony site with fake, scammers and completed outdated accounts. All they want is exploit vulnerable lonely and gullible people. They put you on long-term membership and auto-renewals. Beware! 95% of the women I got to interact with on Ourtime were either scammers or downright odd social misfits. They almost made me give way to despair.
I attempted to create an account on OurTime and was in the process of completing my profile. I had uploaded three photos when I was suddenly logged out and received a message stating that my account had been blocked.
I contacted customer support and was told the account was under review. I was later informed that I had violated a guideline, but no details were provided about which guideline was allegedly broken.
I then requested two things: an explanation of the violation and one-time access to my account solely to delete the photos I had uploaded. Both requests were denied, and I was informed that no further emails from me would be answered.
Given that personal photos were involved, I found the lack of explanation and refusal to allow deletion of my content concerning.
I think I learned a lesson going on line dating. This site doesn't care about you. All the matches are not related to your profile. It's a waist of money and time. Thank God I only signed for a month.
Personally, I did not have a positive experience on this site. This was mainly due to heavy advertising on my personal home page of OurTime. I have been on several dating websites that are fantastic, and no advertising! I can understand that free dating sites use advertising, but when you are paying (OurTime is not free), then having to put up with advertising is just tacky. Because of this I only visited the OurTime website a few times and ended up wasting a bunch of money. I do not recommend.
As a professional blogger I know my way around the internet, unlike some in their fifties. However, us silver surfers are the fastest growing users of the internet and the fastest growing buyers of tablet devices, so make no mistake about it, were not far not far behind the youngsters when it comes to anything on the web. Online dating is a great example and were a big draw for the dating companies because a) we have money b) we have time and c) half of us are divorced or have suffered the loss of a partner. Because of this, id advise anyone reading this to settle for nothing but the best, as youre a special customer and with all the options out there, finding romance or companionship online is definitely a buyers market. OurTime is an excellent site (you may not know this but the market leading dating company, match.com, are the people behind this site. Its one of the best options (perhaps only bettered by primetimelove.com but i shall be doing a separate review on that later) due to how easy it is to use and the number of people you can find on the site. It works well on my iPad (love my ipad!) and once youve spent an hour with the site you really can be comfortable. I find that the gentlemen who contact me are just that - gentlemen, which is a nice bonus! Ive met with three or four now, having been using the site since i signed up on valentines day, and enjoyed a second date with a nice chap at a ten pin bowling alley, something i hadn't done since i was a teenager! Id certainly recommend the site to anyone that is looking for something simple, tried and tested. Its inexpensive and if you do decide its not for you, you can cancel without too much bother (unlike other sites). If you give it a try, I wish you all the best. Thanks for reading!
I've certainly met a number of women on the sight in a relatively short period of time... With that said, there are numerous factors that make this site frustrating as heck! There is a steady stream of scammers that deluge your profile [10-20 a day], I make sure I mark them as 'scammers' and block them; it's an easy enough task... The website is very clunky and doesn't refresh itself... The ap has a few nice features, but by today's standard is poorly developed... I too had issues with their billing, they billed me $107 / 3 months when all i wanted was one monthh... credit card complany hooked me up with OT's customer service and they were quick to correct it [there is an extra $3.95 fee when you sign up]. I don't think I'll go past my one month, but beware, the pay system auto-update and you'll need to contact them to cancel payment!
I was flagged for saying "No drug use" because I used the word "drug". Since I was flagged once, I'm no longer allowed to have a completed profile. I have been emailing back and forth with CS (after 2 weeks of trying to get a live person) and after several emails, I still haven't been told how to correct this issue, only that I was in the wrong. Why would anyone pay over $100 for this aggravation? Save your time, save your money, if you want to meet someone, join a meetup.com group! They're free, fun & have no cat fishers as you're actually meeting people in person with your same interests.
They are useless and manipulate profiles. My outbox has dozens and dozens of messages sent to men (and women!) that I never even viewed, had no interest in, some I never even SAW! How dare they send messages to all these people saying I am interested in them! Unethical! They also send old photos of people no longer on the site to your visited list, or as "Flirts". One of them I was very interested in, and when I did not get a response from a few messages, I sent another message asking if he was real or not, and the photo was removed the next day. I know this was just an old photo because the profile was empty. People leave the site and clear out their profile, but their photos remain and end up getting sent to 'beef up" the matches. BEWARE!
I signed up for ourtime 2-14-2017. I think the site is mass confusion. The company or someone is sending out fake flirts and messages to the members. When a man sends you a message that says like your pic. Then you know its not real. I got 12 or so that said the same thing. Some of the men look like they came from the pages of GQ. They all have wonderful jobs, make lots of money, and will love you till the day you die. If you doubt that they are legit check facebook' If the account has the same picture and has no history its fake. They are out to woo you untill the sun comes up and take all tyour money Its not worth the time even bothering with them just block them. I was immediatly sorry that I joined. You may luck out and meet someone. But be careful
Despite my initial skepticism, this online dating malarkey isnt so bad. I use this site and also primetimelove and must say its living up to the (considerable) hype so far. Worth a bash, after all why should the kids have all the fun?
I have done online dating for a long time, on and off. I have never previously encountered such verbally abusive men as what I have experienced at this site. Perhaps this corresponds with the general abusive behavior going on in the US right now with the political situation, I can't be sure. But whatever the reason, it does not make me inclined to ever use this site again.
Besides that disconcerting problem, there are also some pretty user unfriendly aspects of the site. First, if you have your account set to not automatically resubscribe, you will get an annoying popup with every single email message you open. Second, there are tons of people with no photo and no profile. Your mailbox can be full of messages from such people. You will get a message with each photo they "like", meaning many email messages to wade through with no content from a nonexistent person. The site does not allow you to set it up to globally block messages from people without photos or profiles. Third, navigation and deleting of messages are not user friendly and cause unnecessary work for the user.
All in all, a poorly designed web interface, annoying popups, and mean angry people are what you can expect from this experience, should you pay for a subscription.
You pay your Membership fee and then they pull you in to SCAM you for even more Money. You can't contact other members unless you pay All Kinds of Fees. They Site is a Phony Scam and so are the Member Contacts. I had almost 100 contacts before I paid my membership fee for 3 months. After they got my MONEY I had only about 15 and NONE of them where from where I lived in my area. Then the 2 or 3 I tried to contact I Couldn't. Our Time said I needed to PAY ADDITIONAL FEES TO THEM to be able to talk and get Mail from the women I was interested in. Our Time Dating Is a SCAM RIPOFF PHONY DATING SITE PERIOD!
Lots of men younger than 50 (early forties, looking for 45 year old women...). Lots of really poor pictures - they should not be allowed to be uploaded if they are blurry, or downright scary. One guy looked like a serial killer!. Oh, don't get me started about the men that have no picture and have filled out no information and then they message me! Also, they match me up with men that are 10 years older than the max age I specified, or they smoke, or they live in Maine! I have had my share of catfish to scare away as well but I'm good at spotting this now (try POF if you want to get a scammer every 2 minutes!). All in all I have been on Our Time for about 2 months and had one date. That's it!
Maybe its my age but im still one of these people that are a bit sceptical and reluctant to hand my credit card details out on the internet. Unfortunately online dating is pretty much a non starter if you dont do this, so I read a lot of reviews and do a lot of checking before I choose an online dating site. So far the only sites that have passed my test are this one (ourtime) and primetimelove.com (ive done some reviews on that site before you should be able to find, its 9/10 in my book, really has everything you need). For this one I had no concerns about paying for the 6 months as its a well known brand with a lot of reviews and even if there are quite a lot of negative points, having your money pinched is not one of them. Its a good site, not the best ive tried but ive met some nice people on the site and even gone on a date. For me its 8/10 and worth a try if youre looking for a site you can pay for that you wont lose sleep over.
Im enjoying ourtime for those quiet weekends when ive nothing planned with friends or the occasional weeknights after work but unfortunately the dates have dried up. One of my co-workers who is also a single gent in his late 50s has suggested that I try primetimelove.com but havent got around to it yet. Its likely to be my next port of call though as im finding this site isnt quite living up to the early promise it showed for me. Maybe ive already spoken with most of the ladies in my area or maybe im searching wrong, but im definitely not as popular as I was at first. I do like the process though, logging in and checking messages, sending messages, doing searches; the time can just fly past! Definitely recommend online dating for people of my age who find themselves with some free time (and some disposable income of course) but your patience will be tested at times.
I asked for a refund the hour after I signed up. Still have not gotten a response. It looked like $7 a week, and you charged me twice. I will be contacting my bank
DONT MISTAKE ME FOR ONE OF THESE OLD FUDDY DUDDIES THAT CANT WORK THE INTERNET! QUITE FAMILIAR WITH IT AND NOT HAVING ANY TROUBLE ON THIS ONLINE DATING WEBSITE SO FAR. FOR ME, IVE TRIED A FEW DIFFERENT COMPANYS AND ENJOYED PRIMETIMELOVE.COM THE MOST UP UNTIL NOW BUT OURTIME IS QUITE DIFFERENT AND I THINK IT COULD BE JUST AS GOOD BUT TIME WILL TELL. SORRY FOR ALL THE CAPS JUST NOTICED HA HA. Brian, late fifties
I decided to give them another try after a couple of years. Still the same the matches they send daily are not what I put as my search. I have emailed numerous times NO RESPONSE. Yet they keep sending me emails to sign up again. Last time I saw a guy and liked his profile but when I clicked on it another creepy guy showed up with same name. Also, I sign out when I went to sign back in I was signed onto some guy account. This is horrible site. After this I will not spend any more of my hard earned money on any of these sites. AS ALWAYS DISAPPOINTED IN OUR TIME
This is an awful site and a total waste of money. Hard to believe it is still in business. Can't cancel your subscription so if you are going to try it do so on the shortest subscription because it will only take a couple of days that it isn't worth one penny.
Answer:Not sure what you mean by the shaded areas. But never mind, I agree with Alex H, don't get involved with them, they are just after your money. The reply rate is extremely low and the site is full of fake profiles. You will just lose your time with it ( like I did and I regret it). It's important to find a legit site, the site that should suit you best and I found mine:
https://j4l.com/402007
It's 100% legit and valid and they don't resort to bots and fakes. I met my girlfriend through them so I know it's a working site!
