I've had to call Tom a total of 2 times and both times his prompt and professional service has left me nothing but impressed. If you ever need plumbing work done in the Germantown area be sure to give him a call. *******377
Nextdoor deserves 0.0 stars. For every post that has something useful there are five which are toxic and filled with ugly and hateful losers.
Everytime I go on that page I hear nothing but gossip, slandering the houseless, oh yea everything bad is because of the houseless people digging for cans out of their community garbage cans? These people the majority don't know what the hell they are talking about. Then we get the snoody, opinionated and bossy telling people what they think they should have done, because they said so?
This page is not a positive group that is doing one bit of good for Portland. You have cowards, hostile and volatile people being heard!
You got something nasty to say to me keep? Meet me in the street!
Nextdoor unfairly targets or supports the targeting of members on the basis of whether they like those members. I was suspended for a post stating cat meat is consumed in Asian countries. The post was in response to another member talking about eating groundhog. Nextdoor claimed my post was discriminatory. I submitted a complaint to the BBB and in Nextdoor's response they lied and stated that I posted that my Asian neighbors ate cats. I said nothing of the sort! Here is my exact post:
"I've been told by people that eat them that they're pretty tasty and similar to rabbit if prepared correctly. Then again, there are people that like to chomp on cats, especially in Asian countries."
Here is what Nextdoor told the BBB:
"The neighbor made a comment about Asian neighbors eating dog and cats which violated Nextdoor's guidelines."
Notice any difference? This is how Nextdoor operates. It's a toxic site that encourages dissention among neighbors by supporting the unfair application of guildelines.
The next door app is full of pustified people who have skin thinner than a piece of paper and can't handle a simple good-natured joke. Those same people always twist things out of context to the point that none of what they say is credible.
It caters to the Karen's of the world allowing them to badger anyone they feel with any ride comment but I simply posted "Karen just stfu" and my account disabled it wasn't my post either just goes to show this site make Karen's more big headed than they are it makes grown adults stupid they no longer can make decisions them selves they turn into idiots
They will take down your post and disable your account for being a 'bully'
Telling someone to not go 40mph in my neighborhood is NOT bullying. But we live in a world you can't say anything, unless the media agrees. Nextdoor is another spinless run platform by spinless cowards. Probably why their 523rd on the list of social media platforms.
Idiots.
Years ago, Nextdoor was a little more useful and advertisements for services were limited. Now, anyone can post advertisements. When I logged in today, the first 7 posts were about services. That wouldn't be so bad, but the people are posting daily. If Nextdoor limited them to once a week, that would be helpful. I get tired of seeing the same woman post pictures of hair every day of the week and the handyman posting everyday. At least most of the political rants are removed. There are some useful posts but you have to filter through the advertisements and rants to get to them.
This app is the worst, the mediators use censorship to force their views on the community.
Case in point the current extreme inflation on electrical@ natural gas. Multiple Threads identified this as a major impact on families and families who are at risk could put them on the streets. Threads were asking why & cause of it. Anything that was showing the cause policies & laws that's showed the caused was deemed as political and was censored. This censorship is to the point where moderators are disrespectful and undermine the viewers comments. This app is not balanced and anyone who uses this app should stay clear. The moderators need to learn how to balance the threads. Not hiding everything as political and attacking comments, that are against their Left Wing views. They need to know what politics and agendas they push are, while policies & laws that are in force and affect everyone at the Nextdoor neighborhood level and their affects and causes of problems and impacts on our neighborhood society. Their are people out there that are just trying to help people through the affects of these policies & laws. Censorship is not the answer!
Just as much censorship as Twitter used to be.The overseers on this app use it for their own platform and interest.
NextDoor has moderators that can take your post down, while allowing others to grandstand on there soap box post after post. This leads to a small group of toxic neighbors pushing their own twisted agendas.
You'll love this site if:
- you like seeing GoFundMe links spamming your feed
- you like seeing what "jim the handyman" is bragging about being able to fix (keep in mind most of these "handymen" are not licensed, yet they can advertise on nextdoor)
- you like seeing people whine about not working and how they have every excuse you never heard of for not working
- you like seeing people ask others for places that are hiring and how they refuse to go anywhere if it isn't at the end of their driveway
- you love drama
Basically, Nextdoor is a dumpsterfire that firemen wouldn't touch.
NextDoor is a horrible social media platform. It does not screen its moderators for bias. And does nothing when any bias is reported. The moderators use a double standard when looking for excuses to remove a post or block a user. NextDoor allows one side to post whatever it wants while unfairly censoring opposing positions and information. It is a horrible, horrible platform.
I signed up for Nextdoor on May 26,2023. After achieving no results, I deactivated my business account on June 21,2023. The payments are recurring, but once you deactivate your account, they're not supposed to charge you their monthly fee. I wasn't charged in June, but yesterday on 7/24, they charged me. My bank is currently trying to get my non-authorized payment returned. I would not recommend Nextdoor for your advertising needs especially if you're a small business. I now believe they're a scam.
I have been falsely suspended 11 times since 12/12/2022. Each time I ask why, they review the comment reported and agree it did not violate any rules. They then reinstate me.
On 7/20/2023, they again suspended me for an uncivil post. It took 24 hours to find out what the post was and it turned out to be rude and uncivil; but I did NOT write that post. It was written by someone else and falsely attributed to me. I have advised them over and over again that there are biased reviewers on their service that are Trump fans and harassing me because I support President Biden. They will not disclose who is filing these false complaints and they continue to falsely suspend me. I have written to Supervisors and Managers asking for help and they refuse to do anything to stop this abuse. The CEO is aware there are biased reviewers because another member contacted her office 2 months ago about a biased reviewer but that reviewer was not removed. Nextdoor is a place to be bullied relentlessly and the bullies are never removed permanently.
UPDATE:
Account disabled because I pointed out and corrected a moderator, But instead of correcting their blatant false info, they shut down my account. Oh, and YES, our US Constitution requires a 2/3 majority (Karen).
It would be funny, if it wasn't so blatant, but the moderators will only allow ONE side of any topic, in Ohio we're voting on Issue 1, the moderators want everyone to vote NO and actively remove any and all posts that differ from their opinion. This is not a neighborly site, it's a free for all for the Left and very liberal Karen's of the world. They allow Handyman services with known convicted felons, they allow the promotion of their beliefs and values while stifling opposing views and opinions. Any other company would be in court, but somehow because they are a private app, they are permitted to abuse and censor at will.
I mean one somewhat right leaning comment about how we need to get the homeless situation where I live in check and they have been super harassing me anytime I make a post regardless of what it is even if it's about the vomit they remove it for discrimination this is coming from someone who is an actual immigrant and suffers from actual discrimination. What they're doing is considered discrimination, next-door socks and will literally remove your post just because they don't like you. I made a post with the screenshot. Let's see how long it takes for them to remove it for discrimination
Many people write nonsensical things on this website as commentary. If you criticize or disagree with something that's frankly, pretty stupid they warn you. So don't dare speak your mind or offer an opinion that "breaks some imaginary rules" or they "suspend your account. It's just another form of Facebook censorship.
Absolutely disgusting gangstalking app that assists Karens and other busy bodies spy on, stalk, harass, slander, ridicule, bully, shame, and ultimately destroy neighbors they don't even know. Secretly of course – just like the Stasi of East Germany, the Gestapo of Nazi Germany, the KKK, etc... reading over these reviews it seems many of you have allowed yourselves to become distracted by the Right vs. Left narrative. Yes, this company was founded by some San Fran cisco leftists, but they really don't care. If you move a lot, you will find that both the fascists on the right and the commies on the left are using this app to try and take over neighborhoods and drive the people they don't like out (or better yet, haver them secretly 'dissapeared'). Have things really gotten to this point in the good ol' US of A? Sadly yes, and the argument could be made that things have always been this way, if you take into account the great American tradition of extra-legal judiciary measures (that word that you're not allowed to mention if you want your review posted. Hint: It involves rope and a tree) Its not even a question IF its happening, just a question of HOW MANY victims there have been at this point, and how many of those were innocent.
But this app is just a tool, a weapon if you will, and weapons don't have agency of their own. Whatever prevailing doctrine in whatever particular town, rest assured this app will be weaponized against anyone who not only dare opposes, but also anyone even suspected of not being completely on-board with the programming. The biggest clown world punchline of this all is that the Nextdoor Corporation likes to promote itself as a great way to foster neighborliness and build 'nice' communities, when we all know that in the real world its being used to engender hatred, discord, and negativity. Those who use this app to try and gain 100% control over their environment are the ones who should be ashamed, and maybe should try reading the US Constitution (for once). All few remaining sensible and freedom loving Americans be aware, and maybe we should band together to try and have this company taken down. Class action lawsuits are being organized, but it may already be too late for America.
I stopped to the grocery store long enough to purchase 1 item. It was 8:30 in the morning, 68 degrees outside and far cooler inside my car has the AC had been turned to max for the sake of my dog. I didn't feel it was necessary to put out my sign because it was so cool. Still when I returned I was met with a raging woman accusing me of animal cruelty. She proceeded to post a hateful post on Nextdoor that went of course viral for 5 days with all these crazy's who don't car about the facts of the matter spewing there hate at me. Unfortunately it has also impacted my business. It's not a matter of loving and protecting dogs. I love dags. It's a matter of people getting a hit from abusing another and done safely because it's under the cover of their just cause.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
