This is the first time I have lived in a neighborhood that has Nextdoor & I do appreciate it. I am touched & thankful for the care that I see expressed by neighbors. It is good for receiving suggestions or for warnings of criminal activity or even recovering lost animals & so many other situations. It is a great way to connect & communicate with those who live close to us.
Needed to post about found Puppy. No problem. Useful neighborhood information posted by others in community.
Excellent source for crime alerts or anything else that goes on around here! I especially appreciate the lost pet alerts, so I can keep my eye out for them!
The site merges many Northville Communities on their site. It gives me a good idea what is going on around the Northville Community.
Nextdoor offers an excellent way to find out what is going on around you, or discovering what the area has to offer in services such as repairs, upkeep, entertainment, restaurants and shopping needs by people who have used all of these. It is also a good way to find a helping hand or advice if you have a problem. Great for new neighbors moving in the area from out of town. You can generally get a response from someone helpful within an hour or two of posting!
I appreciate being informed if someone in the area has had a pet go missing or if one has been found, if there are coyote sightings, break-ins, thefts and other happenings that affect the security or safety of my family and me. I like getting & giving referrals to area businesses or services. I've met a few great people who have helped me with yard work and projects around my house. I look forward to meeting more of my neighbors at the upcoming picnic at Nathan Bill Park in August. East Forest Park is a great place to live and I'm so glad I moved back to MA.
I like Nextdoor. I can get a lot of information about what is happening in my neighborhood. Keep up the good work. And Thank you
With the progression to a digital and mobile world, many of us lost our personal connections with our neighbors. Nextdoor has redefined the neighborhood for today's busy commuters and offers a way for neighbors to reach out to one another with news, help, advice, and more.
Helpful to know what's happening and where for safety concerns. Nice to post sale items within the immediate community. Great to get alerts while at work so family can check my home
Excellent. I have a question.
Does everyone have a earthquake kit.
Can you and your family take care of yourself for at least 72 hrs. Do we have a earthquake plan as a neighbor hood
I like knowing what's going on in my area, I've been alerted to suspicious activity, wild animal sightings, road closures. Really like getting recommendations about local services like painters, plumbers landscaping, and haulers.
Great app! Give real time updates on what's going on! Everyone is super informative and being in contact with other neighbors to be taking care of each other looking out.
I love the convenience of getting/providing information that is relevant to our area. You can easily find out about local events, who has what for sale, who's animal is missing, the City of Lakeland is also on next door... It's also a great way to connect socially.
Love this sight as it is so informative and helpful to know what is going on in the neighborhood. Also very useful for buying and selling items to local person.
Using Nextdoor and keeping up to date on what's going on in my local area is very useful. I've met neighbors I wouldn't normally have met in my everyday travels. Love the emergency info shared as well.
This is the best app and I recommend to everyone. You can ask a question about anything. This week I asked for boxes to move, for movers, just about anything and you'll have answers in a minute.ive asked about carpet stretchers, a man to paint my mailbox, someone to build cabinets. I got them all and they were used by others and did a fabulous job. I've also donated towels to dog rescue and pillows to a teacher this week, sold some furniture and clothes. Best app out there no scammers. Oh and found out about bear sighting, deer, robbers in the area!
Next door is a great way to get to know your neighbors... especially if you are new to the area. Questions are answered in a timely manner and contain information that can be further checked. Neighbors are often encouraging one another or giving sound suggestions on how to handle an "iffy" matter in the neighborhood. Getting personal takes and references for doctors, dentists, restaurants... you name it... are invaluable! Thanks neighbors!
The Next door app is easy to use and very informative keeps you in touch with what's going on in your neighborhood and puts you in touch with your neighbor's.
I'm very impressed with the way this sight meets the needs of so many without being a burden. You can tell right away from the topic if it's of interest. Then you can click on it and get more info. I especially like that it does give a true "neighborhood" feeling with people in general being friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.
It's a great way to know what's going on in "The Neighborhood" around me. Great way to meet my neighbors as well.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
