I've only been a member for 7 days and they charged me 44 dollars. I was not informed that I had to cancel my subscription as soon as possible or they would sign me up for the monthly subscription. You guys can not do that! You can't just charge people and sign them up without consent! I also tried to contact them and no responses!

I wish I could give negative stars. I only gave one because I had to. I wish I had read some of these reviews before clicking on the one dollar "trial". I consider myself pretty savvy at finding the fine print, and they surely hid theirs well. There was no indication that I was going to be signing up for a $44 per month charge, in perpetuity, for simply spending 15 minutes looking up the permit status on a remodel. I never even received an email indicating that I would be getting charged. I did not discover this until I had been charged 44.00 twice, the first time just a couple of days after having signed up for the one dollar trial, and then again one month later. This is exactly the kind of fraudulent website activity that is being discussed in Congress right now… I hope they pass the law requiring that websites be absolutely transparent in their charges, and that the same mechanism for agreeing to the charge has to be available for canceling. I emailed the company, using the link they provided to dispute charges, and I have heard nothing from them. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, but I honestly have a little hope of getting my money back. I'm just hoping that my review here will help others, and maybe will help shame this company out of their fraudulent activity.

I was billed $52.44 for several months on my credit card after just inquiring on their website. I did not sign up for this service (unless it was included in some small print somewhere). Their website and service offers nothing I can't get for free on other sites. They finally said they were going to issue a refund for two months. We'll see. I highly doubt it from a company with these types of practices

Forces you to take a trial membership to determine if they actually have any information you can't get on the County Recorder's website. They do not and won't refund the trial fee, even though I cancelled within 20 minutes of signing up. Don't bother with this comapny.

They have charged my debit card with the total of 34.00 with several different charges. The service I requested and paid for was 1.95. They charged me that same fee over and over totaling up to 34.00. If they can't charge my card because there is no money it, they will keep trying till my card has enough money on it to pay the charge.

So I am into real estate and I was trying to get reliable date to purchase properties. They did give me a lot of data which seemed good. Then I looked up my own house and found out that they did not have my updated deed/mortgage. When dealing with real estate we cannot have incomplete information. So its not just nothing, but the data may not be complete.

Today I am very surprised to receive an email to show that I have automatically transferred $44.86 to your company Neighborwho.com without any authorized and agreement. Although I browsed your website and paid one dollar to get a short term service a few days ago, I have never signed any documents that show I agreed with long term service through the active pay system. If your company don't stop the transferring of $44.86 from Paypal immediately, I will report and complain the case to the Federal Trade Commission.

I emailed them to cancel before the $1 trial and never got a confirmation. They have been charging me $47 for 4 months. I had to call my bank to stop it because they won't respond.

They make it very difficult to cancel and then you will be charged. You are supposed to communicate with them thru *******@neighborwho.com but they dont ever respond. This is a scam.

I used this service once to look for the blueprint of a house that I was thinking about renting and immediately tried to cancel but couldn't find the button for cancelation. I then got a notification about another charge in February and then again in March. I finally decided to contact the billing department and see if I could cancel and low and behold, there is the cancelation request. They hide their cancelation and only have a blurd when you sign up that the cost will auto renew. They make it deliberately difficult to cancel your trial and then steal your money under the guise that there was a part when you signed up that said it would auto renew. They provide no different information than you can find on your state/county real estate records online, for free. They took $95 dollars from me because of their poor consumer centric design.

I checked out the "free" property address information, and they send me an email that the report is ready. I just have to pay the account membership to see it. I did create an subscription account and then they told me that they don't have any information on the property I searched in their system. So, they don't really search public information as they advertise with. I immediately canceled my account and read that they are several reports that they keep on charging. Let's see if I also fell for that scam. BE CAREFUL. Don't fall for false promises of services that they don't provide.

This is the most disreputable company I have ever been in contact with! HOW DARE they think that charging an exorbitant amount of money without your consent aside a very vague policy blurb where they never get around to telling you the exact monthly costs invovled and bank on the fact that someone like myself would forget--they aren't making money on their so-called "service" they are making on the backs of innocent people. Then, they have the AUDACITY to CHARGE ME AGAIN to cancel! I am furious! I think that I am acutally going to call my congressman (a friend) and go for their juggler vein--this is unacceptable, deceptive and, in my opinion should be illegal. I am sure there is some verbiage somewhere that protects them--no doubt, but how underhanded and preditory can somebody be? I saw someone make the comment that it was a great product for only $9.99---I got charged $87 for ONE month and then...the have the BALLS to charge me $14.95 TO CANCEL IT...now you tell me... that is despicable and underhanded and they should ALL be put in JAIL! What has happened to this world--I wish them nothing but ill!

I don't use Paypal that much so this is why I did not to catch this fee. This company took my old email that I hardly ever use so missed this payment again. And, I have no way to get into the old account now.
My bank charged me an overdraft fee. I talked to the company and they are willing to refund several of the monthly charges. Apparently I signed up for a 7 day review with fees collected if I don't stop renewal. How could I stop this if using an email I do not use. Again, I never knowingly signed up and never received any U.S. mail. Find this company to be a scam. I have no documents except from Paypal

I keep getting charged and i can't find the button to stop it. It's annoying and it's charging me 40 dollars.

I paid the $1 to look up a house I grew up in. Left it after that. 2 weeks later, 44.86 is suddenly withdrawn from my Paypal account by Neighborhoowho. Sent them a message. We'll see if it gets resolved but I didn't know this would happen. Judging by these other 1 star reviews, neither did anyone else. If the information is on the site that you would be charged again like that after, they need to make it big and apparent. It would be in their best interest to do so, you'd think. To avoid this sort of thing from happening. Yet, here we all are.

Advertises a misleading free service to get your email address. You go through the sign up process to be surprised with give us your cc for $1 charge to then charge you $$ again in few weeks. Waste of time.

They Leach onto your PayPal account I never purchased anything from them and I'm getting charges from them I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau go back to whatever scam country you came from you lowlife piece of $#*!

Product. Crashes. Canceled. Yes, only a dollar trial but what a waste. Couldn't even get to a live person to get a refund.

Also, number of users extremely small.

Will have to watch to ensure they don't try to continue billing.

The kind of company that does not tell you fees upfront, then charges you almost $50. Luckily I caught this now rather than months down the line. Hoping that paypal refunds my money.
